Starting at Mondstadt

FLASHBACK END

Aether was sitting on a rock,on a beach. Thinking about that fight—how he lost his only family just after he came to this World.

The blue waves of the sea,or the seagulls calling out in a bright sunny day, didn't bother him. He was still stuck in that memory.

"I don't even know how many years it has been...how do I expect to find her...?"

Aether looked so helpless to paimon,that she softened more than already she was,

"Aether! Please look at me!"

At once,aether had to respond to that loud, high-pitched child-like voice. He moved his head towards his left,to Paimon.

"Aether,if the things you claim are correct enough,then I am sure, archons of these world ,in teyvat,that is,can provide some clue to that god..! Believe me, I haven't even repaid that favour of you catching me as a fish from the lake 2 months ago! Paimon couldn't even have made it! Thanks to you,here I am! "

Paimon feels a lot more refreshed and happy,

"Uwaah..."

She yawms happily and chuckles.

Aether smiles.

Until two months ago aether had to spend days hunting,and gathering raw edibles (he didn't know which ones were though) . He had to spend days hunting for meat and fruits that he found edible.

It was just by coincidence that,2 months ago,he was fishing and suddenly jerked back off hoping for a large fish to spend weeks eating that, which turned out to be paimon.

"Well.... let's hurry!I have something to show you!"

Paimon giggled,and aether got up, slightly motivated. He was to follow paimon,who flew beside a large lush cliff,with small bushes on its bottom. Paimon stood there waving at him. "Oi! Here!"

She motioned to aether, urging him to hurry,to her.

Aether started walking,his feet dampened.

He still thought about his sister.

That's when a jelly like water monster,was about to jump upon him.

".."

Aether stared upon the water monster, paimon too shouted at him to run fast..but was shocked, because what aether did next is something she never expected him to do outright.

Aether instantly took his scabbard, took the rusted sword and...*Slash* he cut through the jelly like swinging the sword in water and the monster vaporised.

After some time,aether picked his scabbard,few steps ahead of him,and put back his sword and carried it in his back.

".....are you sure you are okay..? What was that?... Paimon...is confused!"

Paimon shouted, floating where she stood.

"It was nothing"

Aether shrugged her off.

Paimon too, didn't pay much attention to it,and aether climbed the cliff while paimon went ahead of him floating.

"Here we are!"

Paimon pointed to a statue...it was ancient...and portrayed a god.

On the top surface of the cliff,it was all greenery. Grasslands,even aether could take a clear view of the Mondstadt city, clearly.

"Touch the emblem at the middle of the statue"

Paimon said softly, blocking the beautiful enchanting view of the city on his eyes.

"Is this a god's statue? It does seem like that"

Aether asked.

"Yes it is. This is the city of Mondstadt,the city of freedom, you can say. The wind god or...the anemo Archon...ruled over here. On his memory thus statue is created. Touch it aether, paimon thinks it has some essence of anemo powers in it..I think it will react if you touch it.."

Paimon said,but she was slightly confused.
