Noctis - Resurgence

Noctis – First Awakening.

The soft sounds of waves crashing along a beach filled my ears, the sensation of cold water running along my body made my eyes snap open.

Before my eyes memories flashed – memories of watching them all die by the hands of those vile beings. My fists and jaw clenched tight  as I attempted to claim myself down.

After claiming myself slightly I stood and scanned my appearance in the reflection of the water. I was still wearing the same clothes as I was during the fight with the usurpers, the only difference is that now they are hardly functioning clothes, tattered beyond repair.

The clothes still covered what they needed to at least...

My long white hair was such a mess you would've thought I got struck by lightning. I didn't have time to think about my appearance though.

"Where even am I?" I asked myself as I scanned the unfamiliar surroundings, "Some sort of island?" I looked outwards past the ocean and in the far distance I could make out a large array of mountains and even some sort of floating structure. They were incredibly far away though, so it probably makes more sense walking inwards the island than tryna swim for main lands...

I pivoted and ascended the slight slope behind me, my gaze widening immediately. Below me lay a vast magical chasm encircled by cliffs, keeping the ocean water at bay. My gaze was encapsulated by the beautiful sight and I surveyed the contents of the chasm.

(I also got jumped by a fire flower)

An ethereal fog enveloped the ground of the chasm, with massive corals adorning a mountain that supported a structure on its summit.

"So, there must be civilization there. But how do I get there..?" I asked myself as I scratched my head in thought.

Suddenly, a light bulb went off in my head. I felt a thin smirk spread across my lips as I held my palm out before me.

Holding out my palm I focused, focused on the elemental energy within my body. Once I found it I tugged on the store, forcefully dragging it out of myself. The energy resisted and I most definitely felt a lot weaker, but being weak won't stop me from using my own element.

With a purple burst a ball of violet lightning formed within my hand, "So, it seems I didn't lose all of my authority." I then closed my palm and focused more energy within all of my body.

Tendrils of lighting warped around my body as I focused my vision on where I wanted to go, the muscles in my body all tensed, the moment I was ready I burst the energy. With an ear-shattering roar of thunder and an explosion of light my body shot forwards and I dashed across the gap towards the mountain.

The wind rushed around me as I flew through the air, a calming sensation that quickly ended. I collided with the ground with immense force, rolling and tumbling, hitting various objects as I was dragged across the floor.

When I finally stopped, on some sort of stair case, I couldn't help but shout, "Ow! That didn't go as I fucking planned!" due to the commotion a small group of people had surrounded me, holding spears pointed at me.

"Halt! This area is closed to outsiders!" one of the guards shouted at me with a suspension gaze, he pushed his spear closer to me as I tried to readjust my position.

"Eh? Halt? I just fucking broke every bone in my body?" I said as I showed him my arm which was bent backwards with a bone sticking out. He and the others seemed a bit sick when they saw my arm but that's their fault.

However, he quickly regained his composure and pushed the spear closer to me, "Tell me your name." I was going to retort once more but my mind went blank.

'What is my name?' I thought myself, my silence only seemed to annoy the guard and he pressure me, pushing his spear close to my neck, "State your name now!"

'Whatever I'll just make one up..' I thought to myself for a moment and then blurted out, "Noctis!" the man seemed suspicious but the sounds of footsteps and a high-pitched voice causes him to pull his spear away.

"Please, Shibata, move your spear from this person's neck." His eyes widened in confusion, "But Your Exellency, he is an outsider." I looked up the stairs, my eyes meeting with a young woman, she had salmon pink hair and indigo eyes, her outfit overall seemed extremely fancy, decorated to look like a fish, I think, and was mainly light blue.

"Can you not see the state he is in, he's injured and his clothes are in ruins." The girl exuded an air of kindness and overall gave me a feeling she was a kind of person who tries to solve everyone's problems. I could be wrong though.

"Thank you for your help, Miss..." I paused allowing her to tell me her name, "Sangonomiya Kokomi, and I think I heard you say your name is Noctis." I nodded in response and she slowly walked towards me, "Is it alright if I take a look at your wounds." Hesitantly I agreed and she stepped over with a smile. She held my arm in her hand and a piece of jewellery on her chest began to glow.

Hydro energy filled the area and I could feel my arm getting better by the second. 'I probably could've tried healing myself but with how my energy acted when I dashed I should probably wait a while before using it again.' I thought to myself as she continued healing my arm.

"There you go, all done!" She exclaimed proudly. I moved mg arm around and sure enough, it was fully healed. "That's quite impressive, may I ask what that jewel is?" I pointed to the jewel on her chest and she titled her head.

"You've never heard of a vision?" I shook my head and her eyes widened slightly before she quickly returned to smiling, "Well that's quite a surprise, but I'm happy to explain!." I nodded shoeing her that I was ready to listen.

"It's a brief explanation really, A vision is a jewel of sorts that is gifted to certain people by one of the seven, it allows humans to use elemental energy. As you just saw mine is Hydro."

'Like the seven dragons? No that can't be right I watched them all die?' I thought to myself, "What's the seven?" I asked and her eyes widened once more, this time however she didn't go back to smiling.

"That's quite shocking, I've never heard of anyone who doesn't know what the seven is." Her gaze was locked onto me with an obvious curiosity, "Would you mind explaining." She shook herself out of her thoughts and nodded, "Ah yes, sorry about that."

"The seven, also known as the archons are God's who ruler over a nation. For example, here in Inazuma we have the Raiden Shogun, or in Liyue, Morax/Rex Lapis." She paused to take and breathe and continued once more, "Each Archon rules over an element, here the Raiden Shogun rules over Electro."

'So this is what the usurpers did with mine and my siblings power.' I thought while clenching my fists and gritting my teeth in anger.

"Is something the matter?" she said in a worried tone, I quickly shook her off, "I'm fine sorry for worrying you." She laughed, "it's no worries to get angry at the mention of the Shogun she has been a bit of a tyrant recently." I titled my head in confusion, "What?"

"You haven't heard?" I simply shook my head, "Huh wow, you're really out of the loop, as if you just woke up from like a ten thousand year nap." I rolled my eyes, 'about that...' "Can you explain what this Raiden Shogun is doing?"

"She's been taking people's visions in the goal of eternity." I looked at her confused, "What's wrong with that, by the sounds of it visions could make a lot of bad people very powerful."

"Oh, I guess I forgot to mention it, a vision is only given to someone with very strong ambition, taking away someone's vision is basically taking their ambition away. It really harms people."

Once more a lightbulb went off in my head, "If this Archon is Electro, maybe she has my power.' "Is it possible to meet this Raiden Shogun." Kokomi shook her head, "its very unlikely unless you get arrested for having a vision."

"She is a believer of Eternity, what if I become a threat to that?" Kokomi thought for a second and the nodded, "I can definitely see that working, but how are you going to manage that, and why do you even want to meet her now that I think about it."

I simply sent her a mischievous smirk and held out my hand letting purple tendrils of lightning dance around atop my palm. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped, "Elemental energy without a vision? How?" 'Shit... I didn't think about her asking anything.'

"Uh... I have amnesia." She readjust her posture and cleared her throat, "Well, that makes sense, you didn't even know what the seven were, I'm still curious about you though."

"Why are you so eager to meet the Raiden Shogun?" she asked curiously, 'Time to think up some bullshit lie.' I pretended to think for a while then look towards the sky and back at Kokomi, in the most innocent and desperate voice I could muster, "Something in my memories tells me I'm connected to her somehow, I have to find out!" 'ugh that sounds so cringe.' Kokomi smiled slightly and then responded, "Well I hope you figure out what that connection is."

"Alrighty! So how do I find the Shogun? Is she on this island." Kokomi eyes filled with surprise once more, "I know you said you have to find out but at least wait until tomorrow, its already late and your clothes are destroyed."

'She makes a good point.' I thought to myself, "Very well where can I stay?" Kokomi pointed behind me and I turned around to see a small village just two little rope bridges away, "Huh I wonder how I didn't see that from the cliff.." Kokomi starred at me with visible confusion.

"Are you sure they will just let me stay in the village though?" she nodded with a smile, "Of course they will, this village is for the resistance which I lead, I will just explain your situation to them all."

"Thanks, I'm grateful of your kindness." She waved me off and assured me it was fine. Then she gestured for me to follow her and she walked away towards the bridge.

I just realised we completely ignored the guard from earlier. Oh well he was irrelevant anyway. "You might have to stay for a little while in the morning." She spoke while continuing to walk along the bridge admiring the scenery below, "Why's that?" I asked slightly annoyed that I wouldn't be able to leave first thing in the morning, "because I'm going to have someone make you some new clothes but it's unfair to ask them to make the clothes when it's already this late."

"You're a very kind person." 'Too kind' I thought to myself with a bit of a shiver, 'Its kinda freaking me out. She feels like one of those people who turns into the devil when you piss them off. I think someone in my family was like that. I hate myself for not being able to remember who...' My thoughts turned quickly and I felt a wave of depression wash over me.

"I swear I will find them all, if I'm still alive some of the have to be as well!" Kokomi quickly turned around her expression showing she was extremely confused and a bit concerned.

"I said that out loud..."
