Part 1: The outlander who caught the wind

The god took away his only kin and sealed his into a deep slumber. Upon his awakening, he wandered alone for a time until he met a strange companion named Paimon, thus beginning his journey through the continent of Teyvat…

Travels are full of meetings and partings. Perhaps the only trusty and inseparable companions of a Traveler are the sword in their hand and the dream in their heart. Aether pulled a sword out of his void and attempted to fight a hydro slime.

[Youthful dreams and the thrill of adventure. If this isn't enough, then make it up with valiance.] The description on the dull sword he had.

Slimes are Common Enemies found all around Teyvat. A pudgy elemental life form. It's said that desserts made from slimes of different elements will have incredibly distinctive flavors. Typically, when life arises from the elements, it either descends and becomes a slime, or ascends and becomes a crystalfly.

Aether cut it in two and watched it as it faded away. The elemental life form didn't leave anything behind as it popped out. He glanced back and found Paimon waiting for him near a strange device she called a teleport point.

"You can make a map appear in front of you using your elemental energy and with it you can see where are the devices you unlocked and you can teleport using them immediately. I don't know exactly how they came to be but I use them often to move around so I am giving you the access to it," Paimon put her small hands on her hips and nodded proudly satisfied with her explanation.

Aether nodded showing his understanding of the situation. He focused on his elemental energy and a map appeared before him showing dark areas and only the teleport waypoint he activated. As he walked following Paimon, the sand turned slowly into green landscape and rocks. Paimon stopped in front of a slight big boulder; he had to climb it to get over it.

"Okay… Let's take the road we planned. We're off to… a statue of the Seven!" he reached the end of the boulder and kept going, following a path full of bushes and rocks. "Which of The Seven are you looking for exactly?"

"I don't know. Something in me tells me to keep going and seek them for answers. It's as if someone had already laid the path ahead and asked me to follow it."

As he ran ahead to speed up his progress, he stopped abruptly in front of a tree that had a strange kind of fruit he had seen before but not much. A plump fruit, beautiful like the sunset, that is abundant across all of Teyvat. It has a curious, sweet aroma and is able to energize an individual. They were Sunsettias. He grabbed one and put it in his pocket.

Then around another tree, there was a mushroom growing there, he plucked it from the ground too and tried to put it in his pocket but he couldn't. Hardy common fungi. Can grow anywhere with the right amount of shade and moisture, but he couldn't get it into his pocket.

"You know you can just put it in your inventory. It has a huge capacity and will help you keep your pockets empty. It just like when you pulled your sword. Just focus on the inventory and the mushroom will go there."

He tried doing what Paimon asked and his mouth twisted into a smile learning of the new function. He had always thought the sword was something in him. He kept going and found a refreshingly cool ingredient. The cool, fresh flavor can cut through the heat of many dishes. He moved it too to his inventory for later use. Anything could be used for something. At least, that's what he believed.

Aether and Paimon walked slowly the end of a small cliff and gazed at the sight in front of them. Paimon already knew of that as an already inhabitant of the continent but Aether wasn't one. Therefore, he was surprised by the beauty of the scenery. There were cliffs all around hugging a small plain land in the middle of it stood a statue surrounded by water, as a small lake.

"That's a statue of the Seven! There are a few of these statues scattered across the land, to show the Seven's protection over the world. Among the Seven gods, this god controls the wind," Paimon raised her hand in confusion and continued. "Paimon's not sure whether the god you are looking for is the God of Anemo, but…Paimon will take you to the Anemo God's place first and there is a reason why…"

Aether nodded and jumped around following Paimon's lead so he could reach the statue. As they were walking around, Paimon kept talking about what she knew, explaining thoroughly.

"As we all know, poetry and language flow like the wind. There will be definitely someone there who knows something about your sister. At least, that's what Paimon thinks!" she kept flying ahead. "Of course, whether or not the gods actually answer you is an entirely different story. You'll never know unless you try. So let's hop to it!"

They went down a road till they reached the lake and Paimon flew over it like a fairy. "You can swim over it."

"How come you got to fly and I got to swim!" the traveler put two hands on his hips showing an expression of displeasure but he still did it in the end. He swam to the small part of land in the middle of the lake where the statue of the Seven stood tall.

The statue rose tall and in the middle of it, there was a round shape like a halo while the top had a sculpture of a humanoid creature wearing a hood and with wings. The statue was stretching the hands ahead holding a small orb. Aether looked down and saw a golden part where a strange symbol appeared; it was in circle with a cross shaped drawing. He walked to it trying to feel it and surprisingly, the symbol brightened with a light green energy that travelled to the orb and made it shine as well. Something flew from it to Aether's chest and the jewel he had all dull and dead turned alive again taking the same light.

"Ooh! Did you just feel the elements of the world?" Paimon's hand moved to her chin, fairly seeming like an intelligent individual. "Seems like all you had to do was just touch the statue and you got the power of the anemo! As much as they may want it, people in this world can never get a hold of powers as easily as you do."

"I think I know why, it's because I am not from this world so I can borrow its elements for instance."

"Aha! Exactly! It's because you are not from this world to begin with. If we keep heading west from here, we will eventually reach Mondsdadt, the city of Freedom," Paimon looked at her left where the shape of a city not far from where they stood was shown. "Mondsdadt is the city of wind, because they worship the God of Anemo. So perhaps, because you got power from the God of Anemo, you can find some clues there. There are also lots of bards there, so perhaps one of them has heard news of your sister. Let's move then!"

Paimon put her hands on her hips smiling. "The elements in this world responded to your prayers and Paimon thinks that's a lovely sign."
