Zhao Yi didn't object either.
Actually, the suggestion to conduct research in groups came from Yan Xuelin. The aim was to encourage comparative research, but there was also an intent to provide some consideration for Zhao Yi's lab personnel, fearing that if they were all combined, it might lead to a take-over and literal 'a cuckoo laying its eggs in a magpie's nest' situation.
Additionally, Yan Xuelin was also considering that any research findings should belong to Zhao Yi's lab, whereas the "Researcher Group" was mainly needed to carry out subsequent research. This meant contributing to a certain extent, but Yan Xuelin had not expected that the group of researchers together would not catch up with Zhao Yi's lab. Now, it felt like having the 'Researcher Group' conduct research separately seemed pointless.
This certainly couldn't be the case.
