Damien is still inside the market because he couldn't go to the entrance because his enemies are there. Instead, he has been entering different stalls to hide and escape them. Right as he turned into the hallway, he saw one of them so he immediately went back to where he came from but then the man rained bullets at him so Damien tried to dodge them all but then another man came and shoot him too.
They didn't even care if other people get hit which frustrates Damien.
At first, he was able to dodge until he felt a strong impact on his arm that almost knocked his body down then he saw Falcon aiming his gun at him with a smirk plastered on his face.
That is simply too much for a sixteen-year-old boy to bear, but Demian was able to withstand the excruciating pain and stood up on his feet to flee. When he looked at his arm, he noticed that the blood was gradually staining his white jacket.
"That fxckin' hurts," he mumbled.
Then he noticed that many people had been hit by bullets around him, and what broke his heart the most was the dead body of a child lying on the tiled floor.
"Dxmn," he cursed again, closing his eyes and clenching his fists. "Those fxcking bastards aren't going to spare any lives."
Demian swears that he will get back to them as soon as he gets a chance. He will make sure that he'd avenge the lives they took.
He ran fast as he could to mislead them while preventing his arms to lose a lot of blood using his palms. He was then reminded of his mother. If she saw this wound, she will definitely get worried and he doesn't that.
Demian gradually loses hope as he realizes he has fewer chances of escaping them, but he believes he should not give up until the end because he does not want his mother to be alone.
But then, out of nowhere, someone grabbed his arm and dragged him into one of the stalls in the market that was filled with rotten vegetables, almost knocking him off his feet.
When that person pulled him down and immediately covered his mouth, his eyes widened. He was about to punch the man when he heard a woman's voice speak to shut him up.
"Shh."
He looked behind him and saw a small innocent-looking girl, staring straight into his eyes. She placed her index finger on her lips while frowning as she held his right arm.
"What the?" he whispered because he is confused with her action. "Who are you?" he queried.
The girl ignored her and looked outside to make sure that the enemy didn't see them. Damien who was astounded couldn't help but look at the girl. She has dark round green eyes, chubby red cheeks, thin pouty pink lips, and shoulder-length hair. She definitely looks like a kid and Demian feels stupid that he almost hit her. The truth is, she's already sixteen, just like Demian.
"Dxmn, I almost hit her! I would be the worst stupid person if I did that. Wait, she's the one who suddenly grabbed me though so why will I be stupid? Tsk," he pondered to himself.
"Don't make any noise if you want to live," the young girl whispered while looking outside and pushed his head down to hide him.
Demian looked at what she was staring at and saw the group of men looking around to find him. He saw Falcon ordered his team to spread and then realized why the girl dragged him. The stall was a perfect place to hide because this is where the vendors trash their rotten vegetables and piled up boxes of trash.
The girl looked at her and speak, "Later they will leave as well."
"How can you say that?" he asked with furrowed brows.
"Because I called the police earlier," she said while her eyes are fixated outside.
"Hey, kid-- I mean pipsqueak. Why are you helping me?" Damien raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms but he soon regretted that because he forgot that his other arm is wounded. "Aww!" he complained.
She immediately looked at him worriedly and said, "Why are you such an idiot?" then looked at him sharply and then pouted. "And you're so mean too. I have a name--!" Demian immediately covered her mouth in fear that the enemies will find them.
"What a troublesome child. If I let her tantrums here, we are both going to die," he thought.
"Yeah. Fine, fine. Sorry shrimp--" Damien shut his mouth and smiled innocently when she glared at him again.
The girl suddenly pulled him to sit that astounded him. "Come here."
"Aish, if this shrimp wasn't a woman, I would have kicked her," he mumbled.
"What did you say?" She asked with knitted eyebrows.
"Nothing nothing."
She sat down next to him and looked daggers at him then suddenly pulled her arm and squeezed it making him whimpered causing her to immediately slapped his forehead.
"Don't be such a wuss," she said and stared at his wound.
"Is this kid trippin'? Me? A wuss?" he thought to himself and glared at her.
The girl lifted the sleeve of his jacket, showing his swollen arm covered in blood. "Those damn weird killer creeps. My mother will see for sure," he whispered.
She ignored him and pinched his wound without hesitating, causing him to groan in pain.
"What do you think you're doing?" He tried to take his arm back but her grip was too tight and he is weak at the moment because the injury was too painful.
For the nth time, she disregarded his question as she analyzes his wound. "I'm surprised you're still conscious," she said and gently touched his wound as if she's looking for something using her bare fingers.
Demian who has completely no idea about what she's doing, couldn't do anything but just stare. When she finally found what she was looking for, she pinched his wound again which made him wail and complain. The pain was just unbearable but for some reason, he chose to trust her as he closes his eyes and leans his back to the wall.
He doesn't know how many times he cursed because of the extreme pain and then as soon as he opened his eyes, he saw her holding a small shining metal covered in blood in her fingertips. Damien's eyes widened when he realized what she just did.
"You fxcking removed the bullet just like that?" he exclaimed.
He pondered, "Is she a doctor or something? This pip-squeak?"
Okay, He's not overreacting or something but she's really small. She's just up to his shoulders and her height is probably just 4'8.
"Will you be quiet? And why do I feel like you're looking down on me?" she said and glared at him before throwing the bullet on the floor.
Damien looked away and chuckled. "Okay, you're not assuming things. I'm looking down on you, lol. Kidding aside," he whispered.
"What?"
"Nothing, nothing."
She placed her palm on his wound and closed her eyes which made a frown on his forehead. But then Demian was stunned when her dark green eyes lightened when she opened her eyes as if it was glowing in the dark. Gradually, her eyes returned to their original color and at the same time, the wound on his arm disappeared.
"Wtf?"
