"Terrorists"

"Gail!" Emily exclaimed and walked towards the girl named Gail.

"So her name is Emily," Demian pondered to himself.

"I thought something bad happened to you. Why did you suddenly disappear? I heard a gunshot here and I was really worried." The girl named Gail hugged her.

Emily scratched her head and said, "Ah sorry. I got lost."

Then Gail noticed that Emily's eyes and nose were red, a sign that she cried. "Why are you crying? And why are you with this guy?" she queried and glared at Demian.

"What?" Demian's mouth was left open because of what Gail said. "What a judgemental woman," he whispered.

"I was startled because of the gunshot and I just met him here," Emily explained as she bit her lower lips.

Gail nodded then looked at Emily's eyes meaningfully and said, "We have to leave, Emily."

Emily immediately understood what she said and turned to Demian and said, "We'll go ahead. Thank you again." then beamed.

Her smile is so angelic that Demian was reminded of his mother. For some reason, he feels like a demon when he's with people like them so he just nodded and turned around but then he remembered something so he looked at her again.

"Ahm thank you," he said sheepishly, almost like a whisper but it was enough for her to hear, then he turned around again and started walking. She has done so much for him today and he's truly grateful.

He has tons of questions for her but he knows that they both have their priorities, and for him, it is his mother.

Emily smiled and shouted "Welcome!" before he could get away which made him smile. He couldn't deny how happy he is that for the first time in his life, he met someone like him who's not ordinary.

This gave him hope that there are a lot more like them in this world, perhaps if he gets a chance, he will find them.

Now he must head back home to see his mom. As soon as he got out of the market, his phone vibrated so he immediately took it from his pocket.

"It's mom," he mumbled and looked at the sky. It's getting dark now and he's sure that she's worried.

He looked around and noticed a large number of police vehicles in the area looking for the gunmen. The ambulances have arrived as well, and they are already transporting the bodies of the deceased and injured citizens. He couldn't help but feel guilty because he was the reason they were killed. They wouldn't have been caught up in his problem if he hadn't gone inside the market.

[Demian?] a woman's voice answered from the other line.

"Yes, mom?"

[Where are you? It's already late! Why are you not home yet? And why weren't you answering my calls?]

His mom doesn't like it when he goes home late because of how dangerous their life is. At this point, she had a feeling that something bad happened to her son and she just couldn't calm down.

Demian let out a long sigh. He wasn't answering her calls earlier so he understands her reaction.

"Mom, I'm on my way home so don't worry. Something just happened on the way."

Her mom gasped from the other line and said, [Don't tell me... ]

"I'm fine, okay? Don't worry. I'll tell you everything later. I'll hang up."

[Demian--!]

Before his mom finished what she's saying, he immediately pressed the hang-up button and then got into the jeepney vehicle. He doesn't want to explain on the road and thinks that he can just do that later. Besides, he can't lie anymore because his white jacket has a hole and is full of bloodstains.

The passengers inside the jeepney were curiously looking at him and his jacket so he decided to take it off and fold it up. He then looked at his fully healed arm as he still couldn't help but be amazed by what Emily did.

There are no marks of wounds other than blood so he immediately cleaned it up to remove all the bloodstains and which convinced him more that his wound is healed. He wasn't aware that such an ability exists.

He couldn't help but smile. "That midget is something. I wonder what else she can do," he thought to himself.

Meanwhile, at Nana Seling's cafeteria, Dazaree started cleaning up the tables using a dry fabric while Troye is counting all the profits for today and Maui is mopping the floor. It's already 6 pm and they are supposed to close the cafeteria before 7 pm but then a group of teenagers came in.

Dazaree and Maui stopped what they were doing and greeted the customers. They are about to tell them that they are about to close the cafeteria when they hear their conversation.

"It was so freaking scary!" exclaimed one of the girls. They are all dressed in university uniforms near the cafeteria.

"I know! I'm glad we didn't become involved in the incident. Our overtime last subject has turned out to be a blessing in disguise."

"Yep. We would have been hurt as well, if not killed."

Maui and Dazaree exchanged curious glances before Dazaree decided to ask the students.

"Hello, ahm. I'm just curious as to what you're on about. Has something bad happened?"

The girls looked at each other before one decided to answer her question. "Well yes. Did you hear several gunshots earlier?"

Dazaree's eyes dilated in shock, "Those are gunshots?" then covered her mouth with her hand.

"Yes, some unknown men injured and killed a lot of people earlier in the market. Actually, we weren't there when it happened but, rumors said that it's because of the terrorists," one of them answered.

Dazaree looked at Troye who's now listening to the conversation. They exchanged meaningful stares because they both aren't sure if it wasn't caused by the terrorists. Dazaree thought that it might be caused by the same group of men that were hunting unordinary people.

If her theory is right, then they must do something to stop this and help everyone who's attacked by those people.
