When the rescue came their slightest touch upon our healing shield made it collapses and woke them from the healing sleep. Eric was behind the one I had stepped upon and a small archer was on the bottom, squeezed into the smallest part of the cravese, good thing he was small.
Arch came down and tied my dropped rope around us one by one and we slowly were pulled upward out of a place most would not think could have save a single life, let alone four. Goldy was the only one not to wake up as she was in an energy gathering sleep pulling from the earth and heavens.
Eric even through his injuries were not healed all the way, refused for anyone else to carry her to the camp. Luck held as they returned and no beast struck and even the rain Finally let up on the way back. Eric was the only one who basically could guess what had probably happened
When They went to pull back and report two immense water type beast attacked using flippers and fins they somehow still where increadably strong and fast. The larger instantly hit them with a water blast that ccut through them like they were paper. Less then a foot away Eric saw his mate Trevor slit open like a tin can as if his armour was nothing.
They use their flippers to spring upward high and far and their lengths to side swipe any foolish enough to get near. Which proved very fatal due to the fact their sides had numerous spurs from which poisons sprayed from. Each was over 30 feet long and had huge faces like a big mouth bass filled with sharklike teeth.
Eric's small group was semi lucky because they were only hit by the slightly smaller females tail which still flung them close to twenty feet away. By the time they managed to get back on their feet they were as loss as all the rest in the rain and noise they tryed to make it back towards their encampment. Luckily they had a mage to point the way until that luck ran out and the smaller female found them once again.
When she landed the mage blasted her with a massive sun flare attack which burned one gem within a second. It was his best and very strongest attack and it even managed to hit her in the gill area leaving a burning tapping hole. This did some good damage but not enough to kill and it scared her into flipping away, but they knew she'd be back.
Soon they came to a large cliffside and their bowman recognized it and said the camp was not far over the topside and that their was places to hide as well, and so they begin to climb. The mage cast a small morph spell to let them have two hook like fingers on each hand, letting them scale it much easily.
As they thought it was looking good that's when she hit smashing one of their member into a bloody spot on the cliff wall within mere seconds. Eric yelled for them to climb faster and stay together and be prepared to drop and catch the side if they heard her coming. By the time they made it to the top she was already climbing upward using the spikes on her flippers.
They took off running at their top speed trying desperately to fine a hiding place safe from the monstrosity following them. Just as the bowman dripped from sight the mage blasted out another spell somewhere behind them then Eric felt the beast claws slice open his side. The attack throw him into his friends back then they both plunged into the unknown and his last thought was that he's guts were spilling out.
Eric when he woke and saw Goldy knew he would have to make sure her abilities stayed secret, but how was the question. Even though they did not see what had happened the other mages would definatly be able to feel the pulling of energy from around them in addition she could very easily drain all the energy from ever gem in camp.
If she wanted this to remain a secret it would not be good if she didn't awake by the time they returned. Eric could feel his wounds still healing and also knew if he healed to fast the other doctors that would want to examine them would definatly want to know how that came about as well.
Eric figured maybe he could give the dead mage credit he was by far one of the stronger ones he had been with so far. Not that he compared to Goldy because he was pretty sure he should be dead right now as well as the others. He knew distinctly that his inner had been falling out and the burning pain of poisens could not have been mistaken.
About half way back to the camp they all took a short break and checked their wounded. Arch had checked them before leaving the crevice and it was strange as their wounds were all mostly healed. Eric had a huge number of severe wounds that still held the tinge of the green puss that came from poison. In addition Goldy had seemed to heal a massive amount of what appeared to be fatal wounds.
Now when he checked again the wound on the first two were barely visible and Eric's wounds were looking as if several weeks had passed since the first time he had observed them. How way this even possible, yes gems could do amassing things but not keep healing after the initial spell was cast. He'll he had been amassed that that healing shield had still worked when Goldy was totally unconscious.
Arch after looking at Eric's wounds called him over to talk to him privately, to try to figure it out. When he opened his mouth to get some explainatons Eric cut him off. "If you hold any feeling of true friendship for Goldy please promise to keep what you have observed a secret. I will kill you all and leave with her now if that's not possible. No one can be allowed to hurt Goldy ever," stated Eric with sad eyes he showed his worry, love and devotion that were very rare in humans.
