Work?!

So I was currently being escorted to Richard's office. Apparently, Anya wanted to steal my invention that I created! No, I didn't copy it! You don't get to talk voice!

I don't understand why she cares so much about the internet! I only want to make it so I can play video games with other people that I may or may not give a computer to...

So time passed on as I continued to give the stink eye towards my 'guards' and I eventually walked into the COG's military command building. Once I reached Richards office I found my bane of existence sitting in a chair.

"Kyle... Just let us build our own version of the internet and then all the stupid back and forth will be done with. Anya has been annoying me for the last hour about this and I have to agree with her. This will save many lives and we can use every man and woman to fight against the Locust."

When I heard him I could not help but think that coming here was a mistake. Can't I just do nothing? Then again if I did not come here then I would not have a PC and would still be stuck in that desert.

I decided to meet in the middle and started to state my demands.

"If you give me five people who have a large amount of fear then I build the Internet we can all use."

And there it is. The confusion was written all over their faces but I'm getting tired of talking suddenly. I just looked at Richard and waited for an answer but instead of hearing his voice, I heard Anya.

"Fear? Why do you want five people who have a problem with Fear? Did you suddenly change your profession to a psychiatrist?"

I slowly looked towards Anya and wondered why I am even bothering with mortals. Why don't I just kill them all now? If they're dead then they can't bother me... Why am I acting like this?

I felt my vision blur for a moment before suddenly feeling fine once again. Weird...

"It's none of your business as nobody is going to hear from them again anyway."

This alarmed both Richard and Anya. How could it not? I'm basically saying that once I get my hands on them then they will be never seen again and likely dead.

Anya wanted to speak up but Prescott stopped her.

"I will have someone notify you once we have gathered what you requested. Is there anything specific who just someone who has fear of something?"

Anya stood up with a shocked face.

"Prescott! Why are you letting him get what he wants! Just order him to give us the blueprint and we will figure it out ourselves!"

Hearing this made me smile. Order me? Are you joking? I could slap you across the face and throw you out the window and Prescott would give me a smile!

"Order me to give you something? Anya, you have no idea what I am and I could kill you right now and still be praised as a hero if I wanted to."

I was about to continue on but Prescott beat me to it and spoke.

"Anya I believe it's time for you to leave. Now."

Anya wanted to refuse but what would happen after? Military discipline? This was Prescott and his words were basically the law. With nothing else, she could possibly do or say Anya left after 'respectfully' excusing herself.

I looked towards Prescott once more.

"I'll start asking for specific materials to be delivered and I'll begin working on building the internet. Naturally, I'm going to have to launch a satellite into space if you want coverage on a large scale. You should also know that in the beginning there will be a large amount of lag until everything is perfect."

I watched as Prescott appeared to think about something and he soon responded.

"How long do you believe it will take for you to create it?"

How long would it take? Dude I spent three years just coding my computer and you're asking me for an ideal date on when I can create the internet!?! Haha.

"By myself? Maybe sixty or so years. Did you know it took me three years to complete my PC? You are asking me to create a system to send data across the entire planet and you believe I could do it in a few months to years? I need manpower and people who know what they are doing. Guess what? Nobody here knows how to. I wanted to create it for myself and maybe a select few but now that you want it for the entire COG then have fun figuring out how to speed it up bud."

Once he heard me say this Prescott frowned. How could he not? He did expect it to be completed in a couple of years but sixty!

"Why does it take so long to build? Why can't you just write down instructions so people can do specific jobs? Would that not speed it up?"

Oh, this man...

"Do you know how long it would take for me to write down every important detail? A single error will cause future errors to appear and those errors will cause more and so on. I'm the only person on this planet that can create it. If your mad then blame Anya for wanting something that you just can't have. You are in a war Prescott. You just don't have the available manpower to dedicate towards this."

I was being serious. How many people in this day and age will be able to learn this knowledge? Every day humanity could suddenly go extinct so they must focus on fighting. Sure they have brilliant individuals but where are they? Dead. Those who are not are binding their time until the COG can save them.

"Just... Figure out a way to speed it up. I swear that woman is going to get me killed one day... I doubt she would do a better job leading the COG than me yet she acts like she knows what's best. We need soldiers..."

Why is he even telling me this? How would she be the death of him? Man needs some sleep if you ask me...

Ight goin to bed.

To tired to say the rest so you know... do it.
