Sports Festival. (II)

"AND… WELCOME TO THE U.A SPORTS FESTIVAL EVERYONE!" Present Mic roared.

His voice reached the ears of everyone in the stadium just the same, whether or not they were far or near the announcing table. They cupped their ears and soon released them after getting used to the noise.

"FIRST UP, WE HAVE THE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS! EVERYONE GIVE THEM A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THEIR FIRST TIME PARTICIPATING!"

Present Mic's encouragement led to a wave of cheers and words of 'good luck' to the students who either received it well and used it for a boost in encouragement or received it wrongly and was intimidated by the sheer amount of people.

"So-so-so much… people!" Izuku said, fearing the large crowd.

He stared right at the crowd, and the crowd stared right back at him. It felt nauseating, seeing so many people right in front of him, many of them heroes no less. What if he fumbles? What if he fails? Badly.

But when he saw All Might in his civilian form wedged between two large men, it brought his mind the calming peace it needed. Perhaps it was because seeing Toshinori Yagi was a sign of reassurance to him?

Nevertheless, he wasn't as nervous and was a little pumped up to join.

Bakugou swaggered right up on stage and did his usual thing. Ambitious statement, angering the people, not explaining anything.

Rui was in the stands too. Seeing and feeling the atmosphere, he was reminded of the previous time he was here, before the whole fight. However, this time he wanted to fully embrace and experience the event. Properly.

Not with any fighting shenanigans, no getting caught on tape, and especially no bringing people's hopes on the Symbol of Peace down.

The Takoyaki however, was still on the table.

————————————

The first round had just ended, and it ended about the same way Rui had remembered. 42 kids continued, the rest eliminated, and a little break for both the students and audience.

Rui grinned. He made his way slowly to the Takoyaki stand avoiding the crowd at all costs. He jumped on walls, ran along them, and managed to reach the Takoyaki stall before anyone else.

"Ahh, one box please." He ordered.

He was blessed with a piling hot fresh box of Takoyaki because the owner had just cooked the batch.

He grabbed a toothpick and stabbed the Takoyaki. He continued walking around the place since the second round had at least another 10 minutes before it commenced.

Walking around, he felt a foreign sense of belonging in this world. Like he was originally born in this world. The sense of attachment felt real and fake at the same time.

'What's the matter with that?' he asked his patron.

'Well simply that's what it is. Being a King automatically engineered a sense of attachment to your host world. You'll naturally feel attached to it.'

Rui thought for a moment.

'Then why didn't I become the King of my original world? Wouldn't have that cut off the world travelling?' he asked.

The Patron didn't answer the question for a moment. It seemed to be in deep thought as well.

'Well… your worlds was an anomaly.'

'In what sense?'

'Your world had given birth to two potential Kings. You, and another person. Had you stayed, you wouldn't have been the King, and your potential would have been wasted. That was why you was brought to a world with no Kings.'

Wow! What a totally planned idea from the start!!

'Who's the other King from that world anyway?'

The Patron took another pause. This time, it seemed to be huffing and puffing.

'The King… the King…' it seemed to want to avoid answering the question. 'the King is actually the strongest King in recorded history!' It finally spurted out its words.

Rui raised an eyebrow. The strongest King definitely intrigued him, and he wondered if he knew whoever it was and if he fought with him before.

'If you ever think of fighting him, don't.'

The patron's words forced a look of confusion on Rui's face.

'Why? But he's the strongest! Of course I have to fight him!'

'That King is even stronger than me, which is unprecedented! Who the hell has heard of a King being stronger than a Patron? It's like an ant being stronger than an elephant. It should no way be possible in any ways. In fact, he's stronger than his own Patron!'

Now that really intrigued him. Whoever this is, Rui has to find them. It's hard for him to believe someone so strong existed. And to think he once shared world with him!

Now, he had a goal in mind.

————————————

'Saitama… are you going to go fight again?' A patron asked of Saitama.

'We'll see. I defeated God plenty times before and he was in his prime back then. I'll just have to wait and see if anyone else is strong enough.

And I'll continue waiting.'

Saitama sat on a beach chair, peering out the sunset. The sun setting brought him a sense of impatience. It reminded him that no matter how many days past, how many sunsets there are, or how many suns set, he'll never find an opponent.'

'Saitama, I have good news for you it seems.'

'Hmm. Spit it out.'

'It seems you'll no longer have to be waiting for much longer anymore.'

A pair of surprised eyes spawned on Saitama's face. Mouth agape, he asked his patron to repeat his statement.

'How long will I have to wait!?'

'Two years. According to my Kings Stock, there is a rising new rookie. He doesn't seem half bad!'

By this time, Saitama leaped for joy and clicked his heels. Yippee! He sung a song and thanked Fate that he had a new opponent to look forward too.

He continued clicking his heels, and leaping for joy as his figure slowly descend into the barren apocalypse of Ghost Town in City Z.

His patron looked at him.

'Finally. After years, maybe he'll finally get some rest from being King. Maybe he'll return back here too.'
