Chap 2

I felt my consciousness slowly return and my ability to reason and think was restored.

I opened my eyes, but to my surprise the deep black did not disappear from my sight.

I tried opening and closing my eyes, but nothing changed.

"I guess this is death," I reflected to myself.

Inside the vast darkness, which felt like a sea, time passed.

I couldn't tell if it was a day, a month, a year or a century, maybe even a millennium, or even more terrifying, a second.

I lost track of my body, I no longer knew if my eyes were closed or open.

During that time my life repeated itself over and over before me, like a loop, continuous and without pause.

I had heard that being locked in darkness for a long time would drive you insane, but even that didn't come.

After what seemed like an infinite amount of time, the landscape began to change, slowly but surely the dark sea dissipated and a pure white light replaced it.

Soon a falling sensation flooded my body and almost instinctively my eyes closed.

After a while the darkness disappeared completely and my perception of my surroundings changed, I felt the feeling of lethargy and cramping dissipate from my body, starting with my toes, moving through my legs, hands and finally my head.

It was a long time before I could open my eyes wide without feeling like I was going blind and what greeted me was the strange, but beautiful sight of a room.

The furnishings were similar to paintings from the Middle Ages, with fine details and engravings. The walls were painted white with the occasional painting with hanging art, it was like a grandmother's house.

To my left was a small office, with a bookshelf full of books and a desk. Next to it what I believe to be a sheathed sword, protected by a glass case.

My head was filled with doubts in an instant, where am I, how, when and why? But for some strange reason, despite the doubts, I felt calm.

I got off the huge bed and walked to the right, where there was a door which I opened, the pure white shiny marble made me turn and squint.

A face I recognized, but, at the same time, very different from the one I remembered.

A pair of turquoise eyes and bright platinum blue hair, along with a beautifully chiseled face were reflected in the mirror in front of me.

As I saw the face in front of me, I could confirm that I was no longer on earth, but somewhere else and that place was the game world, Garden of Thrones.

I had heard of reincarnations and transmigrations. But to think what would happen to him. Not that I was sad either, I was just curious.

I came out of the bathroom and sat down at the desk. If this was really the video game world, I should be able to open the status window.

"Status window."

I muttered, as I imagined the image playing in the game. Then something like a list appeared in my view.

Heart of Ice(A):

Allows the user to suppress emotions by freezing them. Plus an exponential increase in affinity and control over the ice element, with extremely low mana expenditure].

Seeing this only served to confirm once again where I was. It also helped me understand the strange sense of calm I felt, apparently the Ice Heart ability was keeping my emotions including the fear and insecurity I must have had, knowing that I had transmigrated into a world I was recently controlling to generate my own amusement.

Still, questions remained, where am I in the story, which of all my completed games am I in, or does this world have my choices, and how did I get here, though something tells me looking for the answer to that will only bring trouble.

Now all I had to do was to know everything about the world, the direction it will take, and survive what awaits me.
