Keep your eyes closed

'Why does it feel like I just touched a naked body? Infact whose body is this?' She panicked, unable to remove her hand during the time.

"Would you watch it Mae?" She could hear the same voice from earlier scolded, moments later she felt a push on her hand off the person's body.

"Y- you know me?" She was dumbfounded at the revelation.

Once again she could hear his distinctive chuckle to her question.

"You do know me, who are you? And where is Skun? What did you do to him?" She threw an array of questions, now more confident than before.

"Mae, there is a reason I'm shy about showing myself to you. It's better dark this way." The voice explained partially.

"What does that mean? Who are you?" She pressed on with her questions.

"When Elvis said he would transform me, I didn't expect a total transformation, now even you don't recognize me." The voice lamented.

"Elvis? What does he have to do with all these?" Mae whispered mainly to herself.

"Even Mae doesn't recognize me." The voice whined, on the verge of crying.

Mae tried to link all she heard, she shook off numerous possibilities which clouded her thoughts but there was one possibility which shook her greatly.

Her eyes widened as she tried hard not to believe what she was about to say.

"Skun? Is that you?" She asked with a horror stricken face.

"Finally, you recognise me." Skun beamed with joy, she could hear him jump in joy.

"Elvis needs to be taught a lesson for what he has done to me. Look at me, my wings are gone, so are my scales. My precious tail!" He screeched in horror.

"Wow, what great lighting you have here to know what you mean." Mae deadpanned, clearly not relating to what he meant.

"Oh right!" Skun finally realised his mistake, "I had totally forgotten you humans can't see in the dark."

"Uhuh." Mae stood still, waiting for a moment when the torches would be lit.

Snapping his fingers, the torches lit one by one, brightening up the area, squinting her eyes to the sudden bright light; she shut her eyes.

"I suggest you keep them closed." Skun warned, not sure how to explain his predicament in light terms.

"Why?!" She dared and took a peek at him.

Now she could clearly see him, he now looked like a normal male in his early twenties, striking silver hair and distinctive green eyes.

Then her eyes trailed lower, it was at that point she realised her mistake and should have gone with Skun's warning.

There he stood, stark naked, her eyes had gotten a glimpse of his V-cut abs before she knew what might await her next, immediately Mae shut her eyes.

"I'm so sorry." She apologized for defying his orders.

Skun's face burned a deep shade of red with embarrassment, he had definitely tried to conceal this fact with the darkness earlier but she had insisted on seeing him.

"Earlier, you had almost touched my ummm..." He couldn't quite say what he had in mind but coughed right after on the last part.

Mae gulped, understanding what he meant. 'So that was why he pushed my hands away then.'

"Elvis had totally forgotten the gesture of bringing clothes to a dragon who barely knows the workings of a human body." He grumbled at how he found himself in the predicament he was now.

"Ah?!" Mae could only grunt in reply, trying her best to work her movements while keeping her eyes closed.

"No, not that way." Skun tried directing her towards the right path, but all she did was go in the opposite direction to what he meant.

"You could just have your back facing me, that way you could still see, yet not directly at me." Skun explained. "How's that?"

Mae grimaced at how dumb she had gotten, she internally scolded herself for not coming up with such a simple solution.

Exhaling she made sure to confirm if Skun was either at her back or her front before opening her eyes.

"Skun?" She called out to confirm, to which she heard his reply behind her.

"Okay, I will be opening my eyes now." She relayed slowly as if talking with a child.

Opening her eyes, she let out a huge breath of relief at having to stare at the wall Instead. "I apologize for making things awkward."

"It's no worry actually, if I wasn't accustomed to human interactions to a degree, I would have no issues walking out like this. It has a similar feel to how I was as a dragon. I didn't wear clothes then, so I don't see any reason I should feel ashamed now." He justified it with a shrug.

"No!" Mae said a little too quickly, which made Skun jump back in fear.

Immediately realising how she had said it, she gave a nervous laughter, forcing her head not to look behind while trying to correct why she made such an outburst.

"What I meant to say is, please do feel ashamed, don't go walking around naked for both your sake and others." She explained.

"Well I suppose that's one thing that I still need to get used to, but I did try to warn you though. I tried to deduce why you humans wear all those heavy lagging clothes which not only slows you down but looks like it causes great discomfort to the body." Skun spoke out his thoughts on the issue.

"Clothes are an essential part of a human's life–" Mae paused, internally facepalming at having to refer to her kind in such a distant format. "We need it to not only provide a sense of comfort to us, but also give us class, pride and fashion, all of which I'm sure sounds vague to you at the moment."

"It sure does sound vague and strange, having to watch humans evolve in their way of thinking and use of clothes sure does speak volumes of what you were trying to explain. I assume." Skun nodded his head in agreement.

"Since that's settled, I would like to go out now and have a word with Elvis!" She never waited for a reply before she sprinted up the stairs in a hurry.

"Do let him know of my predicament and clothes while you are at it." Skun called out after her.
