Freak of nature

"Would you trust me a little?" Skun laughed, grabbing onto the hem from where he had left off.

"Mae what did you tell him?" Elvis yelled in horror.

"You'd see." She replied with a grin.

With one swift move, he ripped his shirt in half. The piece of clothing in his scrunched hands.

Turning to Mae for her approval, "I got his clothes off!" He beamed, showing her.

'When I said use your instincts, I didn't mean in this way.' Mae's thoughts screamed, her brows twitching at what she witnessed.

"Great effort." She said instead, clapping her hands for added effect.

"Ahhhh! Haa!" Elvis' chestElvis chest heaved, he wished he could move a bit, but couldn't tell as he wanted because of the pain he felt.

"Calm down dear Elvis." She poured some of the ointment on her palm, smearing it onto his side, "You could fix that cloth when you are a lotalot better, right?" She reasoned.

"So let's concentrate on the pain." She kneaded gently onto the area, earning a groan from Elvis.

Sitting up, Elvis looked down at his feet, a bandage secured to the side.

"You can't just sit down there doing nothing." Mae wiped her wet hands on a cloth.

"I'm still trying to recuperate." Elvis hissed. "It takes a few minutes before I can fully feel the effects of the ointment and my energy return to me."

"Could you please conjure a couch for me? This stool is quite uncomfortable." Mae whined, squirming on the stool, falling off it in the process.

"Could you please conjure a couch for me?" Elvis copied in a high-pitched voice, rolling his eyes.

"That's not how I sounded." Mae raised her hand in defiance, she was still too lazy to get off from the ground she had fallen to, choosing to stay put until her wish was granted.

"Well I'm not fully recovered so don't push it." Elvis countered. "If you feel bored, why don't you teach Skun how to eat a salad instead?"

"Salad?" Skun stopped sniffing a miniature tree in a vase. "What's a salad?"

"Please carry on with what you were doing." Mae didn't have the strength to give a lecture at that point.

Elvis jerked back, feeling a rush of adrenaline, "Mmmm, finally." He hummed as he felt his energy return.

Mae wondered why she suddenly felt light, looking down she came to the final conclusion that she was indeed floating. "Elvis?!" She screamed.

His eyes followed her voice, the pure look of amazement graced his features, "How the hell did you get up there?"

"Whoa Elvis, she's flying!" Skun wowed, bringing his head back as she hovered above.

"Oh no don't you wow." She warned Skun as she spiraled trying to get her balance. "Elvis do you have a hand in this?"

"My hands are off this, as much as I would have loved to be the one behind this; I couldn't and wouldn't dare try this on a royal blood but let's take Skun for example, then you could suspect me." He joked to the dismay of Mae and Skun.

"Hey!" Skun protested, clearly understanding what he meant by his statement.

"No offense." Elvis smiled at Skun.

"Offense none taken." Skun replied through gritted teeth.

"Would you get me down from here?" She screamed, feeling a little dizzy.

Waving his hand in a semicircle, Elvis responded to her plea, instantly she lost the initial light feeling sensation.

"Oh no!" Mae finally realised her mistake as she came crashing down to the floor.

"Oof!" Her fall was broken by a couch, pushing herself back up, she examined her body to be sure it was actually intact.

"You did say I should conjure up a couch earlier, so there you have it." Elvis raised his chin in pride at having to save her from her literal downfall.

"Might I add it's comfy too." She laid back on the couch, getting up after a feel of it.

"What was that earlier?" She blew on her hair which had gotten on her face.

"You were flying like a bird, no no a dragon!" Skun marvelled. "Elvis, are you sure you didn't make one of your mistakes on her when she was a baby?" His demeanor turned serious.

For the first time, Mae actually agreed with Skun on this, even though it sounded a little silly, she couldn't help but be curious as to why she suddenly began experiencing strange things.

"First of all, I believe the correct is you were levitating. Second I didn't tamper with anything while you were a baby, nor when you were a toddler and definitely not when you are a full grown lady now." Elvis evaluated, rubbing his chin to some speculations in his head.

"Ugh!" Skun and Mae sighed in disappointment.

"Don't tell me you two were hoping or might I say–expecting I had something to do with this." He looked back and forth at Skun and Mae.

"Nope."

"Definitely."

Skun and Mae grimaced at how contradicting their answer was from the other.

Elvis gave a nervous laughter, in all his years of experience he had never been low-key insulted like how he was now.

"I had no hand in this." He clarified first, "But at least this does explain how she could give such a devastating kick. Fact–that could have killed a normal human in an instant."

"I'm a freak of nature!" Mae concluded with a nod, taking the news with a pinch of salt.

"So she's more messed up than I am?" Skun's mouth gaped open.

"First off, no you aren't messed up you dimwit!" Elvis chastised, "Second, yes in a sense she is, since she was inadvertently born this way not modified like you are."

"Can I be fixed?" She panicked, "I don't want to float and never get back down, what if you weren't there to save me? Or worse still I lose control and attack someone?" She hyperventilated.

"Breathe." Elvis advised, "Instead of being afraid of this, it's time you embrace it."

"And why would I want to do that?" Mae asked with a raise of her brow, clearly not liking the idea.
