Chapter 52: The End of Oni Alien Mission

(A/N: I was checking how the Gantz do the scoring, and found it to be inconsistent. By comparing the score in the mission of Ring Alien and the Oni Alien, old man Suzuki got higher score compared to Kurono. I'm sure Kurono did better than the old man. Thus the inconsistency in scoring. So, I decided to do my own scoring. Here's how I scored the Oni Alien mission:

Minion - 5 pts

Sub - leader - 20

Oni Alien - 40

Klong!

"Aargh!"

A lightning arc zipped swiftly, hitting Sakurai on his chest, and electrifying him in the process. The momentum of the lightning sent him stumbling back for almost hundred meters distances.

"Shoot him!"

Rei shoot a gravitational force towards the opponent, but the guy was too fast. He moved away before the gravity attack crushed the place where he was standing previously.

"Dammit! We need to make him stay in one place for the Z-Gun to work on him." said Sakuraoka. At the same time, she swung her sword to cut the alien.

The alien evaded the slash at the last critical moment. However, small cut was still got inflicted on his stomach. 'Tsk. These hunters are really fast. They are almost able to catch up to my speed.' thought the Oni Alien.

The Oni Alien then rises both of his hands, and pulled down. In that instant, many bolts of lightning shots out to the surrounding area.

"I won't be fooled by your lightning attack once again." said Sakurai. He then created an invisible shield to block those lightning.

At the same time, all the Gantz Fighters who learned the psychic powers from Kurono also created an invisible barrier to protect themselves from the lightning bolts.

The only two people who didn't know the psychic powers were Rei and Ayaka. However, the two of them were standing behind the one who can create the barrier. Therefore, they are safe from those lightning strikes.

"What? They all can use that weird power?" exclaimed the Oni Alien. He frowned when he saw that his lightning attacks seems to be unable to cause any harm towards these hunters.

The Oni Alien then changed his way of fighting. He run as fast as he can, took anything that was liftable in the surrounding, and threw it towards the hunters. He even lifted several cars and hurled it towards Sakuraoka and the team.

"Watch out!"

Everyone tried their best to not get hit by those things that were flying towards them. One of the car got ignited by the lightning power from the Oni Alien. The guy lifted the car and threw it towards the Gantz Fighters.

Boom!

As the car landed, it suddenly exploded, and caused a wind waves that sent almost everyone flying. Even the Oni Alien himself stepped back two steps after being blown by the wind waves.

"Damn that guy. He is using those cars as his weapon." Sakurai was feeling dissatisfied when he saw those many thrown miscellaneous big items.

"Let's use our combined power to fix that guy in one place." suggested Sakata.

The others nodded. They then combined their psychic powers to caught the alien. However, the Oni Alien was moving really fast, that it was hard for them to hold him down in one place.

"Let me keep him busy. You guys go and hold him down." said Sakuraoka.

She then hold Gantz swords in both of her hands, and rushed towards the enemy. Seeing her coming, the Oni Alien pulled out a nearby pole, and fling it at her direction. Seeing the incoming attack, Sakuraoka ducked, and the pole missed her head.

"Quickstep!"

Sakuraoka then stepped hard on the ground, and swiftly arrived in front of the Oni Alien. She swung both of the Gantz Swords towards the enemy, but the Oni Alien managed to jump to the side. Sakuraoka didn't stop there, and changed the swords slashes from downward, to horizontal slashes. This change surprised the Oni Alien, and forced him to jump up in order to avoid the fast slashes.

"Now!" yelled Sakuraoka.

All the psychic power users instantly activated their powers to bind the alien, and caused the alien to be suspended in air. Sakuraoka also joined and used her psychic powers to help restrain the alien.

"This is not enough to stop me. Haah!"

Klong! Klong! Klong!

The Oni Alien activated several lightning bolts and drove it to struck all the psychic power users. All the psychic power users was forced to defend themselves while trying to restrain the aliens boss. Bloods are starting to flow down from their nostrils.

"Hold on everyone!" said Sakata. "Rei! Attack!"

As the others were using their psychic powers on the enemy, Rei who was holding the Z-Gun in her hands was the only one available to attack the enemy. Rei didn't waste the other's effort on creating this opportunity. She locked the Oni Alien with the Z-Gun, and shoot a gravitational force on the target.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Rei delivered continuous shots of gravitational force on to the enemy, flattening him on the ground without any chance to stood back up. At last, the body of the Oni Alien burst into many pieces after being targeted by those continuous smash of gravity.

"Aah... finally." Rei dropped her butt on the ground, feeling tired.

"I survived? I didn't die...I am alive!" exclaimed Sakurai. The instant the boss was killed, a big burden in his heart were lifted away. Some tears flowed out of his eyes.

At first, when Kurono mentioned that he will die in this mission, it created a shadow of worries inside his heart. He have been trying his best to stay alive and finish this mission as soon as possible.

Now that the last boss were killed, he suddenly feel his mind become a lot clearer, and his heart no longer felt troubled by the dying fate. It gave h great happiness, that he kneeled on the ground and let his tears streamed down on his cheeks.

"What's with him?" asked Fei.

"You know. Kurono told him about his death in this mission. So, he should be really happy that he survived." said Sakata looking at Sakurai, and feeling a little bit emotional.

"Well, it's good to be alive."

"Yeah. It's good to be alive."

"Hey, what about the other target?"

Everyone suddenly remembered that there is another target in the radar the previous time they checked. They hurriedly checked the radar one more time. They then saw that there are no more targets on the radar.

"It seems, Kei already finished on his side." said Sakuraoka. The others just nodded.

"Yeah!! The heroes won the battle!"

In that instant, the people in the surrounding area shouted in happiness.

"That's what you call a hero!"

"Let's go see them, and celebrate this winning!"

"Let's help them if there are any injured one."

The people then moved forward, wanting to celebrate the winning together with these black suited heroes. However, their desire to do so were doomed to be unfulfilled.

At this time, the teleportation has started, and all of the Gantz Fighters were transferred back to the Gantz Room.

"Oh, I'm back." said Kurono. He was the first one to appear inside the Gantz Room. After that, one by one of his team came back inside the room.

Next, the two office workers and Takeshi appeared almost at the same time. The three of them were in the middle of eating ice creams.

"Er...we wanted to help this kid. So, we went to the police station. That police guy is a good person. He shared his ice cream to us." explained Manabu Yamaguchi, one of the office worker. He felt like explaining because he was feeling a little embarrassed.

"He spoke the truth. Also, we contributed our efforts in killing some aliens. You can ask that old guy." said the other office worker, Masafumi Shirokuma.

'Old guy?' wondered everyone. Is there an old man in their team? Old man Suzuki already got his freedom.

At this time, another guy appeared in the room.

"Hey old man, stop struggling and just lay on the bed, huh!?" Jouji Morozumi exclaimed when he suddenly appeared in the room.

"I said I'm not sick. Also, stop calling me old man! Huh!?" this time, it was Kaze's turn to be surprised when he also got transferred inside the room.

The last one to appear was the man named Houchuu Nagashima.

"Everyone come back alive huh. That's great." said Kurono, feeling relieved that not single one of them got killed in this supposed to be hard mission.

"Woah! Yamaguchi you got the highest score of us four."

"35? How is that calculated?"

"Outside there, I killed two aliens, and got 10 pts. That's mean 5 pts per alien." said Masafumi Shirokuma.

"Wait, if that's the case, how did I get 35 pts?"

"That's might be because you delivered the final hit to kill that stone like alien." said Jouji Morozumi.

"That's mean I did the same, right? I killed two of those octopus like monsters, and assisted in killing that stone alien." said Houchuu Nagashima.

"Too bad, we didn't get hundred. If not, we could be already free from this place." sighed Manabu Yamaguchi.

"What about them? Did they get enough points to be released from this place?" asked Jouji Morozumi, looking at Kurono's team curiously.

His three friends also turned to look at these previous Gantz Fighters.

"Woah! He got more than 100 pts. Did he kill more than twenty aliens?"

"Look. Other than get freed from Gantz, we can choose a powerful weapon."

"Who wanted that. It's better to be free. Though, I'm curious about the third choice."

"I'm envious of him. I wonder what he will choose?"

The four 'Yes Man' looked admirably at Kenzo Sakata. Sakata also become happy that he managed to get more than 100 pts. As he was looking at the choices, he fall into silence.

"Congratulations sensei. You hard work is paid off. It's time for you to get yourself free from this place." said Sakata, a little emotional. He added, "You should go and pick no. 1."

"Yeah. You should free yourself from this dangerous place." Kurono also supported Sakata on choosing his freedom.

The others also nodded in agreement. At this time, Ayaka said to Sakata, "You should free yourself. Don't worry. I'll find you when I reach 100 pts. After that, we can get married, and live together."

Hearing her caused Sakata to feel even more worried. He was thinking of freeing the girl, but there is no choice for him to free someone in the Gantz Room. Only if someone get the 200 pts mark, will then the choice appears. Wait...200? My points is almost there, thought Sakata.

"Hei Gantz, can I not choose this time, and go on to the next mission to accumulate up to 200 pts?" asked Sakata. However, there was no answer. "Hei, reply to me!"

Seeing that Sakata was getting irritated with Gantz, Kurono get close to Gantz inside the black ball, put his index finger in the guy's left ear, and turned it clockwise.

A sentence appeared on the screen of the black ball.

'Fighters can keep their points, and go on to the next hunt to accumulate more points.'

"Then, I want to keep my points for the next choices." said Sakata, deciding his final choice.
