Daddy is home

Griffin City is an isolated island somewhere within the great Northern Ocean. Griffin Mage Academy is in this city, as a means of protection to its people.

Most players don't stay in Griffin City because it is less developed and has fewer gates than the other Cities.

The most Developed City is Dragon City, it is home to the rival Academy of Griffin Mage Academy, Dragon Slayer Knight Academy.

Believe it or not, but Knights here are valued more than Mages, which was the opposite in my last life.

Even from the names, Dragons are way stronger than Griffins.

In my past life I have killed plenty of griffins, but never even spotted a single dragon. Why am I even bringing this up.

Griffin City is the most peaceful, largest and the less developed city.

Despite that, for someone like me who is from a world without any technology, I am really excited to take a look at the outside world.

But I never thought, that the outside scenery to be this awesome.

I mean, I saw Dean's memories, so I knew what to expect but seeing it with my eyes is a new experience altogether.

When I walked out of the house, I saw something that could only described as heaven on earth.

Huge buildings and tall skyscrapers along with magnificent billboards and few policeman patrolling the city giving something they call a 21st century vibe.

Electric cars and motorbikes that were moving on the nice tared roads, just showed me reliable technology was.

I could also vividly see a floating gigantic tower hiding in the clouds, which bestowed a fantasy look on to the scenery.

I couldn't help but drop my jaw a little, as it wasn't touching the ground.

It takes a ton load of magic power to keep something like that up.

It felt like I had dreaCafe about this before, but now I am 'actually' seeing it with my eyes.

More like those times when people dream about things that will happen to them.

Its not like it happened to me before, but you get the feeling.

Its so nostalgic.

"Fuu!" Letting out a deep breath, I started walking towards the nearest inn.

Or rather say Cafe, according to this worlds tongue.

"Daddy is home"

I said that, as a sort of greeting to the beer, I will be enjoying today.

Once I become a Dark Mage, I won't be able to enjoy the feeling being drunk.

Being a Dark Mage comes with a poison resistance factor and high level mental strength.

Being a Dark Mage is not always good, if one isn't careful with the amount of Dark Mana they take in at a given moment, they might corrupt their minds, despite the high mental strength.

I walked on the concrete paved road and within a few minutes, I had arrived at my destination.

I stepped through the plain doorway. It wasn't too eye catching but it gave in a pleasant feeling.

I was greeted by the lingering aroma of freshly brewed.... Coffee.

It may be something anyone can get in this world, but in my last life it was something high nobles could only get.

Baron's couldn't even dream about drinking coffee.

I know about coffee, because when I sneaked into the Evester Manor, some maids where brewing it.

I never got to drink the coffee, as I had other things to take care off.

But, now I can finally get to drink something those arrogant nobles felt so proud of drinking.

Uhaha.. hahaha... uhahaha

I fell like a noble, no more like that arrogant bastard king himself.

Or so I thought, but reality turned a hard one on me.

Coffee..... is bitter, I have never tested something so bitter in my life, even nutrition pills seem sweet compared to Coffee.

No wonder why Nobles, always have wrinkles on their faces. They aged quickly with all the frowning they did when drinking coffee.

At least it smells nice, I lifted the nicely decorated full clay cup and savored the aroma.

I have only ordered a cup of coffee and it would be shameless of me if I return it.

"Damn it," Cursing underneath my breathe, I forced down the whole cup of coffee down my throat.

I stared at the white table cloth, as I pushed my back at the leather cushioned chairs. I doubt, I can eat something after this.

"Do you like to order again Mister?"

An angelic voice rang in my ear, and I turned to see a charming girl, who was carrying a huge smile in her blue maid uniform.

She wasn't really tall and she looked to be around 18 and 19 years old.

She had straight brown hair, matching eyes, and a petite figure.

I stared intensely at her and thought, 'Someone like her would be on project 'Noble Baby Making' in my past life.'

"Mister the way you are staring at me is creepy,"

Her angelic voice got me out of my thoughts. cleared my throat a bit, before asking, "Do you go to Griffin Mage Academy,"

Her face flustered a little and she asked, "How did you know that?"

"Just guessed," I smiled before adding, "Tell me something, where can I find the nearest one of this so called monster fields?"

A monster field is a place where monsters that escape from gates are stored. Gates are not stable and release monsters from time to time. Most monsters that escape are taken care off at that moment and the remaining ones are forced into Monster fields.

"..."

"Don't worry about it being illegal," I said as I showed my smart watch, "I am teacher at Griffin Academy starting this year,"

She stared at the holographic panel that showed up from the smart watch.

In Dean's memories he always had it with him all the time and its my first time using it so, I stared at the holographic panel too.

Griffin Mage Academy.

Name : Dean Evester

Class: 1 Zero

Level: Non-Player =|

"Evester, are you Denzel's younger brother!" She shouted from joy getting the attention of everyone in the Cafe.

I forced a smile and replied to her, "Yes."

I can't believe a twin brother is being considered bigger than me and according to the memories I got, Dean was born first.

"So you are the systemless Evester, who got the the job at the academy thanks to his siblings power,"

I couldn't find any words to answer her, as her words had a truth in them.

"Why do you want to go to a monster field, when you are not even a player?"

I smiled to her and said, "Aren't you asking to much question for a student?"

She moved back a little and faced down, "Sorry Mister. The nearest monster field is in the First District and a few miles away from here, if you take the subway train at the end of the road facing the cafe."

"So you are good at telling answers," I muttered before saying, "Get me a coke and a carbonated orange flavored drink,"

"I said, I am sorry you jerk face," She said in an audible tone, before saying, "Your wish is my command."

"I almost forgot, leave your dagger with me,"

At my words she looked at me with a 'how did you know look.'

Come on she is not trying to fool anyone. Silent foot steps, curious behavior and good looking, those are the traits of an assassin or spy.

I am an assassin myself, so spotting those who try to hide their true selves is not that hard for me to notice.

I continued speaking, not giving her a chance to reply, "I am sure you don't want your other identity to be found out. Lets make this easy for ourselves."

She panicked a little, as she replied, "I don't know, what you are talking about, I am a proud mage and weapons just..."

She couldn't finish speaking as I stared at her with my brows raised.

A spy or assassin who is bad at telling lies, this world is pitiful.

"Sigh!" She took out a silver dagger from thin air and said, "Here you go, but please don't tell on me."

'A straight dagger, so she is a spy,' I thought as I took the straight steel dagger and stored it, in the pockets of my overcoat.

So much for the plan of getting drunk and eating fantastic meals.

I think, I just developed a phobia against Coffee.

Another phobia to the others I already have.

The girl came back with my drinks in a flash and I left the Cafe heading to the subway station.

I am no stranger when it comes to trains, as there were few of them in my past life.

I arrived at the subway station and saw quite a few teenagers who looked like they belonged from a high background, waiting there patiently.

Its looks like everyone wants to have a shot at the monsters in First District, before the academy opens a week from now.

It is not really mandatory for people to go to the Academies, but the joy of being high level players is in those small heads.

Nothing good comes from having fame.

Children here are idiots, instead of a peaceful life, they want to spend the rest of their lives with fear of being killed.

They don't see the bigger picture.

Everyone in this world has developed a sense of wanting to see blood. They might say its for the good of the world, but murder is murder.

Honk-! Honk-!

While I was in my thoughts, a loud deafening sound of the horn announced the arrival of the train.

The train didn't release any sound when it stopped and the people quickly boarded it.

I trailed behind them and stood up as all seats where occupied.

The interior is different from the ones in my past life. This one is less comfortable.

" Hello, dear passengers, our next destination is the First District."

The voice of the train captain echoed through the train, before it started moving.

I leaned on the pole in the center of the train and opened my coke.

Puff~

I could see bubbles come out of the can and I slowly took a sip.

Heavenly~ its crisp, sour but sweet taste, the yin yang fusion. A refreshing and clean taste, like it was picked from the stars.

It tasted divine, more like honey juice from the gods.

I couldn't enjoy the sweet taste of my Cola as my mind thought of something.

Dean's memories from a month ago, are all still missing.

I can't put it as missing as such, but more like something/ someone is blocking me from getting them.

Its all blurry, like it happened centuries ago.

Speaking of the other Dean, he seemed to know that he and I were exchanging bodies and almost seemed cool with it.

Is it because he always dreamed of having magic?

Or is it something else entirely, but what could that be?

Lets forget about him now, I have a feeling telling me we will meet plenty of times in the future.

I finished drinking my coke and stored the can in the pockets of my overcoat. Its a crime to be found littering around the place at this world.

I took my can of the carbonate orange flavored drink, I got from the Cafe and just sipped the heavenly taste in silent.

"Dear passengers we have arrived at the First District."

The train Captain words signaled the end of our short journey. I must say that the subway train is fast and reliable.

I walked out of the train and threw the empty cans at the bin at the subway station.

Griffin City has 25 Districts and the First District is for cadets from Griffin Academy to hone their skills.

I didn't get that from Dean's memory, but from the people chattering in the train.

This proves it, that something is tempering with Dean's memories.

Some of the monsters at monster fields are not always from gates, as they are beast of this world who evolved thanks to mana.

I walked behind a very odd combination of people, first was an average black haired guy with fair white skin wearing a blue mage robe on.

He was walking next to a slightly handsome old man with white hair, an athletic fit body and was wearing something called a hanbok. He probably was the guy's teacher.

He had caught my eye, ever since the train ride. After all he was.... a ghost.

Yep you heard right a ghost. I am not surprised as it is one of the side effects of 'Word Soul Magic'.

That's how I met my Master, but lets talk about that some other time.

The old man seemed carefree, and just let me follow them from behind, as they looked to be going to the monster field.

I left the combo, when I saw an over green dense forest, that stretched thousands of miles.

The guard didn't check anything and let me pass inside the fencing gate.

I stopped following the group of teenagers and moved the southern age of the forest.

Krick krick krick–!

It didn't take a long time, before a group of time 24 goblins holding clubs and poison needles showed up.

Goblins have green skin, an ugly face, a long nose, pointy long ears and a short height with the tallest being 125cm. Goblins eyes are similar to those of humans

I grinned widely as I took the silver dagger the Cafe spy gave me.

"Daddy Is Home,"
