Game to Live

The start. At the start of the year 2020, a new online community came into existence. No one ever explained what it was, and neither understood what it was about. There was a huge mystery as it seemed people inside were from other worlds. The common theme was them talking about a particular world that combined all the magical stories as well as all of the eastern novels together into the world where it all existed together. The world was named "Game to Live". On January 15th 2020, Kyle saw it in an online community of his favourite MMORPG. An elf character, level 62, mentioned that "I have decided to accept an invite to 'Game to Live' I hope that there I can grind to my heart's content." After reading the thread further, he didn't find anyone else mentioning it. After he refreshed the page, the comment was gone and that persons account got banned. What's more that it seemed anything that person posted ever online was evaporated from the server. Join Kyle in exploring the new world that is full of opportunities. See how Kyle uses the system as well as old and ancient cultivation techniques to stand above everyone. Not a Harem.

Chapter 26 - System’s manual

As Kyle sat in the meditation position, he started to look at the manual that was provided to him when he reached a level up. The book was present in the form for a scroll that had to be dragged out to the side. Considering that the system had elements of electronics in it, this was very out of place.

The manual only said two words on the cover:

[ Manual to System ]

Kyle brought the item into the over-world and tried reading what was inside. As Kyle opened it, 'This manual is completely empty! Was this some kind of a joke?'. At this point, an interface appeared right in front of him, and the scroll that was in his hands disappeared.

[ Help menu is activated ]

A window that looked like wikip*dia appeared in one of the UIs. There were topics basically on every use case of the system. Starting from the types of systems and ways to use it.

Kyle read through it very carefully. There were some interesting things that Kyle never considered but could potentially use to make his life easier.

'The main problem is that my system is nothing like the systems described! This is just a general description of normal systems! Where is the description for one that creates a whirlpool that could kill you? What about the cultivation and levels together?! This thing is pretty much useless!' Kyle was very frustrated as it has now been a long time since he came into the world, and he knew a very limited amount about the pearl inside of him.

At this moment the pearl started making a kakaka sound as if it was laughing at stupid Kyle. 'Yeah, the system definitely has a sentient spirit inside. It behaves like a living being. I might be not powerful enough to understand what this pearl really means. Okay, so what can I actually learn from this…' Kyle continued through the tutorial.

'One of the most interesting things is that the system is connected straight to my brain and should be treated as another internal organ. It says that I can think of an answer to the system instead of pressing the UI.' Kyle read the introduction, 'Well, I knew that.'

'It says that some people get an element-based system when they are born. Those people are 1 out of 10 000 and are totally dependent on karma and achievements of their parents.' That was already much more interesting, 'Also there is no maximum level, and the ultimate goal is to reach as high as you can. With every level increase, your genes and DNA will improve that will cause your longevity to increase, and you will live longer. Okay, I know about physical power upgrade. Eventually, reaching the level of the GOD?! Reach at least level 10 to read further?' The basics were not new to Kyle, trial and error helped him sort these things out, but the last part really made his wonder.

--

'Ohhh! Magic.' That was the section Kyle was excited about, 'To cast magic one has to have a magical attributed system or train in the mana manipulation. The bad news that mana manipulation is extremely hard; the goods news is that magic is extremely powerful in this world. Also, Kyle knew that he could use magic already. The mana manipulation was just for those that didn't have qi. He was already at later stages of qi condensation and was able to will his qi to go out of his body. What Kyle need right now, was a manual on ways to use his qi.

--

'EXP. Any being in the world will give EXP when slaughtered. Any being? What about killing the same race? Is it the same as killing a beast?' Usually, games put some type of limit so that there isn't an endless slaughter, but it seems that this world and system didn't have anything like that.'

--

Right now there were still many greyed out areas that Kyle couldn't access just yet as it said [ Come back later! ] when he tried reading it. Some of the sections were put under [Legacy] which, as Kyle understood, meant that it was out of date and irrelevant to him right now. There was a [ Patch Note ] section that had a level requirement to check off [ Level 10 ] which seemed to be too far away for Kyle to care about. The most amazing legacy section was the cultivation section.

The section said that at first system didn't exist in the world and cultivation was the only thing present. Many races tried to cultivate, but due to laziness and poor will, the races in terms of cultivation started loosing out to the beats and other demons that existed in the world. The slaughter was endless. At this point, the god decided to grand to every living being a system that could help with the cultivation. That is how the system came into existence. At that point, the world started to change, as now that it was much easier to reach the basic level to defend themselves, so the slaughter stopped.

There was also a greyed out comment.

[ This, in turn, caused races to become even lazier and not strive towards godhood ]

The most fascinating thing was that the system was made to help with the cultivation, not be there instead of the cultivation. It was meant to be used like Kyle was using it, which was really motivating for him.

Kyle got to the last part of the manual, 'Oh, this is useful. Tips and tricks and getting started guide. There were many descriptions on how to channel your qi and how to grow in terms of power either from slaughtering or through cultivation.' Many parts were just a refresher of what Kyle already knew.

The last paragraph was about the amount of energy that is needed:

[ If you would like to level up by solely relying on the absorption of experience, it is estimated it will take around 100 bunnies to reach level 0. 1 000 wolfs to reach level 1, 10 000 war bears to reach level 2, 100 000 ogres to reach level 3, 1 000 000 swamp demons on reaching level 4, and 1 000 000 dragons to reach level 5. Don't rely on absorption. Please cultivate. ]

With this, something snapped inside of him.

[ Understanding of the world deepened. Revealing the innate skill of the system. Absorb ]

[ Absorb let's you consume the qi of the slain foe and convert it to the qi or EXP. The per cent that a system can absorb is directly proportionate to systems type. ]

This new message fully confirmed Kyle's thinking. The system was not anything special the operated the world into two different parts of the world. It was a helping hand in cultivation!

With this now fully understood, Kyle could use the system in a completely different way. No longer just relying on whatever system would let him do and actually use it for his own purposes.

Suddenly as Kyle thought that a long humming voice resounded from the pearl inside of him, "Finally. Continue…" As fast as it came it disappeared just as fast. The voice was very profound and full of wisdom which made Kyle's soul shook from the resonance.

Kyle couldn't get any more reaction from the pearl, but he now knew that he was going in the right direction. Even the pearl knew that.

I don't have time or power to slaughter that many beasts. My cultivation technique, according to the numbers, increases efficiency at least a million times! The difference is simply staggering!

With this, Kyle closed the manual to digest the information.

Long description of power-ups is letting me set up the world correctly! Ger ready!
