Chapter 15

Sunspear, Throne Room

"And?"

Prince Doran asked everyone present in the room.

"My Prince, as always, Ivar remains under constant surveillance 24/7."

"All he does is teach our young prince how to fight and battle, ridiculous as it seems given the master's disability."

"As for information about Ivar, unfortunately..."

"This time, we couldn't find anything either."

The Master of Whispers of Prince Doran responded with displeasure and unsatisfied.

"We investigated his origin, identity, affiliations, appearances, rumors, weaknesses, everything."

"However, we found nothing."

The head of spies and information replied again while reading documents and letters.

Response that only caused Doran to close his eyes and frown.

"So nothing..."

"In other words, Tyene, William, and even my own nephew are lying to me..."

"Or my sister truly had a subordinate about whom we never knew anything..."

Doran said softly, with a tired tone, considering the various options regarding the true identity of the stranger.

"Disperse."

Doran said, ending the council meeting and causing the assembly to scatter.

-POV of Doran

By the gods, why does everything have to be so complicated when it comes to my family?

First, Oberyn informs me that he will return with a new woman and daughter.

Then, my nephew brings a cripple to be his weapons master.

(Seriously, why can't they ever be quiet or normal?)

I told to myself as I thought about my family members.

(Now, what could be Ivar's true identity...)

I thought, laying out the different pieces of evidence and clues about his identity and making theories about possible options.

(First, he is not from this region or these lands as he clearly has an accent when he speaks.)

(Second, despite his disability, his bearing, gaze, behavior, and most importantly, his combat skills at least prove his origin as a warrior.)

(Third, from the moment he called Alexander "My Lord" instead of "Me Lord" I know that he is not a simple commoner)

I told myself while taking note of the information I had gathered in my head.

(Taking all this into account, there are 2 possibilities.)

(1. William told the truth, and Ivar is a warrior who served my sister for a brief period of time.)

Doubting and with curiosity, I thought about the far-fetched theory. Option one could somewhat explain Ivar's manner of speaking since my sister always tried to educate and teach those who asked.

However, this probability seemed the least likely to be true because, why would my sister never have mentioned such a person?

Aside from the fact that it seems impossible for my sister to have left someone in such a condition or at least tried to offer some kind of compensation to someone who was injured because of her.

Considering all of this, option two seemed the most credible and probable.

(William, Ivar, and Alexander lied to me.)

This would explain various factors and doubts, such as the fact that my sister or William never mentioned such a person.

Which would only leave the origin and identity a mystery.

No matter how insignificant or irrelevant someone may be, at least someone, whether a villager, blacksmith, prostitute, waitress, etc., should have seen him at some point or know something about him.

However, despite our investigations, we found nothing.

Which only meant that he is either a newcomer to the region or a nomad.

Of these options, I leaned more towards the former due to Ivar's accent.

"Sigh"

"It seems that the apples doesn't fall far from the tree."

I said to myself.

"Looks like Alexander also inherited your bad habit of rescuing less fortunate people."

As I looked towards the sunny sky with a sad and melancholic voice, I said while thinking of my dear sister.

-POV General

"Again"

"Once more"

"Repeat it again."

Ivar's voice sounded loudly in the training yard.

Voice that was directed at the boy who was diligently practicing with various types of weapons.

Two and a half months had passed since Alexander returned to Sunspear.

Time in which even though it had caused discontent among his siblings due to the little time they spent together, Ivar and Alexander were solely focused on training with all kinds of weapons.

And just as on previous days, today was going to be the same, but this time it was different due to the sudden appearance of a certain message.

[Mission completed]

[You have received an uncommon summon]

The message, though brief and direct, made Alexander feel satisfied and relieved.

"What are you doing? Who told you to stop?"

Ivar interrupted, causing Alexander to continue with his training.

---Time skip---

"What are we doing here again, Alex?"

Ivar asked once they arrived at the cave where he had been summoned before.

"You're not going to tell me you think I'm staying here again, are you?"

With an exaggerated tragic and sad tone, Ivar joked.

"No, idiot, I plan to do something I should have done a long time ago."

I replied with a tired tone due to Ivar's constant jokes.

"William, please have one guard the entrance and have the others ready their weapons."

"Ivar, prepare your bow and arrows."

I ordered immediately, preparing to summon my new ally in case everything went well.

"Summon, a uncommon summon."

I exclaimed, instructing the system to summon my uncommon summon.

And just like last time, symbols and runes appeared on the ground.

However, unlike before, this time the color was blue.

Once the runes and symbols appeared, once again, a curtain of smoke formed.

But unlike the last time, this time, there was no sound at all.

Seconds passed, and the smoke cleared, revealing the figure of someone sleeping.

Wearing cargo pants, a black shirt, and a dog tag along with a katana, the person—or rather, the sleeping child—finally became visible.

"You must be kidding me..."

(Author note:

Sorry for the short chapter. I took this long because I was trying to investigate and inform myself about the chronology of the books so that everything fits in its place. Something that due to the ammount of informmation, took me a while. From now on, there will be more time skips. However I want to hear your opinions about what should be the next summons.)

(Also, do you prefer for each summon to have a personality and proper interiaction, impact, etc. or would you prefer them to be just discardable pawns?)
