PROLOGUE-NEW WORLD

OLD VALYRIA

The city was once a bustling Metropolis, filled with life and energy but then the Doom of Valyria happened, and the once-great City was now nothing but rubble, and the streets were overgrown by weed.

Walking on those streets are two girls we all know and love.

"What happened to this place?" Astrid asked as they walked towards what looked like a castle at the foot of a massive mountain.

"If I had to guess those mountains erupted," Hela replies. As they kept walking they had to admit even in its ruined state, the city still held a certain allure. There was something about the way the trees grew out of the tops of buildings, vines crept their way up the walls, and the sun, what little that got through the smoke-covered sky, shone through the broken windows that made it seem almost magical.

Once they reached the castle the sight that greeted them was a tragic one, Dragon bones both big and small covered the courtyard.

With a sigh, Hela put her hand on one of the big skulls, "May your spirits rest in Vanaheim,"

"Why didn't they fly away?" Astrid asks.

"If the smoke from that day still covers the sky today it wouldn't have been any safer up there than on the ground, plus I'd imagine some of them didn't want to leave their riders," Hela tells her seeing the worn-out saddles on some of the bones.

With one last sad look, they enter the castle. As they delved deeper into it, they began to realize that there was something else there. They heard chitters in the wind and saw shadows move in the corner of their eyes.

But they kept on walking through the hallway turning right when they came to a junction. The shadows following them also turn right before coming to a stop once they see the empty hallway revealing that they were three juvenile Dragons. One that looked like the oldest had dark black scales with green eyes, the second one had purple scales, a light brown underbelly, and purple eyes, and the last one had grey scales and golden eyes.

Confused they looked around and started sniffing the air before being startled by Hela and Astrid seemingly materializing from thin air. The older one steps in front of his siblings protectively eyeing the two.

"It's ok we're not going to hurt you," Hela tells them. Slowly she goes to one knee and takes out three cooked fish from a bag on her hip and places them on the ground, "Here you must be hungry,"

The black dragon walks forward cautiously stopping every two steps to look at Hela to see if she does anything. He sniffs the fish before eating one whole. He takes the other two and places them in front of his siblings.

"I think we discovered a new species," Astrid says excitedly.

"Yeah I think so too but these guys shouldn't be out by themselves they look like they're a month or two old so the question is where is their mother?" Hela asks. She feels a tug on her bag and looks down to find the younger one tugging on it.

"Sorry, bud, I don't have anymore, see," She opens it only for him to try and get inside it making them chuckle. She picked him up and placed him in front of her. To her amusement, he lets out a cute little roar to seem intimidating.

"That was adorable," Astrid says crouching next to Hela to pet him. The other two seeing they weren't harming their brother got a little comfortable.

"It looks like we got new companions," Hela says watching the little dragon climb Astrid's arm and rest on her shoulder.

Hela and Astrid along with the dragons continue exploring the ruin before stumbling upon a door. It was old and rusted but they managed to pry it open.

Inside, they found a library. The library was filled with books, scrolls, and Manuscripts. The books were old and dusty, but they were still in good condition, well some of them at least.

"I've never seen so many books in one place, Fishlegs would faint if he was here, " Astrid says in awe.

"I'm surprised they survived this long," Hela says walking forward.

As they explored the library, Hela came across a book that caught her attention. It was bound in leather and written in a language she did not understand. She opens it to find writings and drawings of twisted and monstrous humanoid figures. Intrigued she puts it in her bag.

"Hela come look at this!" Astrid calls out, standing in front of a table. Hela walks over.

"What did you find?" She asks. Astrid gestures at the table which has a map carved into it with the same language as the book.

Hela puts her hand in the middle of the table, "Translate,"

The words on the map glow before writing in Norse forms below them. (Westeros=ᚹᛖᛋᛏᛖᚱᛟᛋ, Essos=ᛖᛋᛋᛟᛋ, Valyria=ᚡᚨᛚᚤᚱᛁᚨ, The Narrow sea=ᛏᚺᛖ ᚾᚨᚱᚱᛟᚹ ᛋᛖᚨ)

Hela takes out her book and starts drawing the map, "I wouldn't trust this map with how old it is but it'll do until we find an updated one. Now then why don't we find out where we are,"

When she finishes drawing she opens another page which has a painting of two identical serpentine dragons without wings.

"Hati!" She calls out and the left one's eye glows before materializing out of the book.

"My Queen, Princess," He greets them, "What can I do for you?"

"Be my eyes and fly up would you. I want to get a layout of the land," Hela tells him.

"At once," He replies flying out of a broken window before ascending.

Hela's eyes glow red and suddenly she's in the sky looking down on the land through Hati's eyes.

"looks like those eruptions did more than destroy this city," She tells Astrid seeing the numerous islands scattered around the one they're on.

A FEW HOURS LATER

"Alright Hati you can come back I think I have an idea of where we are," Her eyes go back to normal.

Astrid gets up from the floor where she was playing with the dragons.

"Looks like we're here, Valyria. But it's not as whole as it is here. This bottom part shattered into islands after the event I'm assuming," Hela states.

"So if we are going to find civilization we have to go north," Astrid pointed out.

"It seems that way," Hela affirms, "But before that, we have a language to learn,"

"But what if it's a dead language?" Astrid asks.

"Then we'll be doing this for nothing but it's better to be safe than sorry," Hela tells her.

For the next 3 months, they stayed in the ruins of Valyria learning the language and its History. At first, they couldn't make sense of the symbols on the page, but as they continued to study, they began to recognize patterns and deciphered the language.

They spent hours each day pouring over the books and learning the language. They were fascinated by the unique grammar and syntax of the language, and marveled at the beauty of the words and phrases.

They learned of the Valyrian origin. How they used to be humble shepherds before discovering dragons in the Fourteen flames, a ring of volcanoes on the Valyrian peninsula. How they tamed them using magic and used them as devastating weapons of war.

Their rise to power and the fall of Ghis an empire that ruled most of Essos. They tried to stop the Valyrian expansion but fail. Their empire being turned into the Valyrian Freehold with Valyria as the capital.

The Valyrian Freehold continued to expand and conquer further west, capturing many slaves from conquered lands and using them to mine great wealth from the Fourteen Flames, as well as build great cities and roadways that led to Valyria.

They learned of the Rhoynish war, Religion, magic, etc. Hela also found a book labelled The common tongue of the Andals which was another language they learned.

Anytime they weren't studying they spent with the dragons playing with them teaching them to hunt and making sure they were healthy. When they are too engrossed the dragons had Hati and his twin brother Sköll to look after them.

Hela and Astrid also managed to find the mother of the three dragons near the cave they came out of. A giant bolder had crushed her head. Astrid determined that an earthquake had happened which open the cave to the Hidden World and the mother was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

They also found Fenrir wandering the ruins in search for them. He was probably bored in the Hidden World or the nightlights annoyed him into leaving, probably the latter, so Hela let him stay. Although the young dragons took to jumping on his back once they got comfortable with him so he traded 3 annoying dragons for another. Poor him.

TIME SKIP

Finally having finished learning Valyrian and the common tongue to the point of having a conversation with each other using them. It was time to leave.

"Ready to explore this new world?" Astrid asked.

"You know me. I never say no to exploring or fighting," Hela tells her.

Astrid smiles, "I know just making sure,"

They both transform into their dragon forms. Fenrir jumps on Hela's back before they take off. They fly slowly so that the 3 young dragons following them can keep up.

A whole night of flight later and they found themselves on vast grassland stretching as far as the eye can see.

"let's land and look at the map one more time," Hela suggests.

After turning back to their human forms Hela takes out her book.

"Looks like we missed Mantarys last night. So we have a bit of backtracking to do," Hela says

"Let's go by foot this time so that we don't miss anything on our way," Astrid suggests. Before Hela could agree Fenrir starts growling catching her attention. She sees in the distance riders on horseback galloping in their direction with weapons drawn.

"Well, it seems we have a fight ahead of us," Hela says before smirking, "This should be interesting,"

Astrid sighs seeing Hela draw her sword. She moves next to Fenrir and the dragons, "There she goes again. I pity those who face her, at least it'll be entertaining to watch," (AN: From this point on English is the common tongue)

A few minutes later the riders surround them leaving no room for escape. One man catches Hela's eyes he was tall and muscular with copper-colored skin, black hair and black eyes. He has a long braid hung with tiny bells that hangs down to his back. He's riding a lean red stallion. He eyes her for a second and looks towards Fenrir, Astrid and the dragons.

He says something she couldn't understand while pointing at them and 5 men get off their horses.

One of them charges at Hela going for a downward slash. She swerves to the right swinging her sword low cutting off his leg before following with another swing to the neck decapitating him before he even falls to the ground.

Hela looks at her sword, "ᚢᛋᛁᚾᚷ ᚤᛟᚢ ᛁᛋ ᚨ ᛒᛁᛏ ᛟᚡᛖᚱᚴᛁᛚᛚ," she sheaths it and takes the axe on her back, "ᛏᚺᛖᚾ ᚨᚷᚨᛁᚾ ᛖᚡᛖᚱᚤᛏᚺᛁᚾᚷ ᛁ ᚢᛋᛖ ᛁᛋ ᛟᚡᛖᚱᚴᛁᛚᛚ," ("Using you is a bit overkill". "Then again everything I use is overkill")

The tall man leans forward on his horse intrigued as this time Hela charges at the 4 remaining men. Two of them charge back.

She locks weapons with the first and blocks the other's swing with her arm guard. She head-butts the one on her right breaking his nose, and stunning him. She swipes the other guy's feet under him and stomps on his head crushing it.

She blocks an attack from the guy she broke the nose of and smiles at him enraging him even more. He goes for a punch but she catches his fist and twists breaking it allowing her the opportunity to lodge her axe in his chest, killing him. She pulls it out harshly his blood spraying on her face.

The last two ready themselves but are stopped by the man with the long braid who gets off his horse. He says something before pointing at a woman in the crowd.

"The Khal says that you are a great warrior and once he defeats you he will take you and that woman as his Khaleesi," The woman translates.

"When I defeat you I will take your place," Hela says. The woman translates and the men laugh except the Khal. One of the says something.

"He says, the Dothraki will not follow a female Khal," the woman translates.

Hela focuses back on the leader who begins to circle her warily and she does the same, each waiting for the other to make the first move. Finally, the Hela lunged forward, her blade flashing in the sunlight. The man parried the blow with his weapon, and the two began a deadly dance of steel.

Hela had to admit he was quick and agile for a man his size, darting in and out of range with great speed. He fought with a ferocity that was unmatched, determined to emerge victorious.

As the battle raged on, the warrior began to tire. Sweat poured down his face, and his breathing became labored. But still, he fought on, refusing to give an inch. His blade flashed in the sunlight, while Hela's axe whistled through the air.

"I have to admit you're a better fighter than those 3 but you were unfortunate to have faced me," Hela tells him which the woman translates, "so let's finish this,"

Hela changes her stance and he immediately sees an opening. Thinking she was being too cocky. He lunged forward not seeing her lips curled upward, his blade aimed at her heart. But Hela was ready. With a mighty swing of her axe, she knocked the weapon out of his hand.

Now unarmed, he prepared to die brutality. But Hela did not strike. "You have fought well, what is your name warrior?"

"Drogo," He answers when it was translated.

"They want to know why they should follow you and be the laughingstock of Vaes Dothrak?" The woman says.

"Well first so that I don't kill you all," She joked but it seems they took it seriously, she sighs. She walks over to one of the horses which belonged to one of the guys she killed and strokes its head, "And second not only will I make the best and greatest Khalasar (AN: the woman told her) Vaes Dothrak has ever seen, but if you ride well and prove yourself worthy you will earn one of these,"

She pushes a few of her flames into the horse causing it to neigh loudly as its body stretches and grows 4 more legs, its mane turning into green flame. Turning the normal grey stallion it into an eight-legged war-horse.

Everyone is speechless gazing at the magnificent creature before one by one they get off their horses and bow in front of Hela.
