Chapter 28: Battle in Orkmont

Three weeks have passed since the War between the Boltons and Greyjoys escalated to new heights, the Ironborn who thought they would be invincible at sea was just beginning to find that things were not going to go as planned.

During these three weeks, several naval battles took place between the Bolton Fleet and the Ironborn, who began to lose several ships only causing some of House Bolton to be sunk, causing the Bolto to guarantee that several routes were safe.

The Bolton victories are due to two factors, the first being that they have a lot of manpower to use in the creation of ships, the second being the design of the ships, being like the Caravels and Galleons, Domeric did not know much about these types of ships, so it just gave a general idea that he knew, the shipbuilders had several tries and failures, but in the end, they managed to create the ships that Domeric dreamed of.

With that, House Bolton had a superiority in the naval aspect.

Balon was losing patience because of the series of defeats, he was always prepared with other Ironborn Lords' ways and strategies to combat the ships of the Bolton Fleet, but to no avail, as they never managed to deal significant damage to House Bolton.

"THAT FUCKIN' BRAT!" Shouted Balon as he threw his wineglass to the floor after hearing of more defeats in the War Hall, the Ironborn Lords present were wearing somber looks.

"If it continues like this, we could be invaded at any time," Said one of the Lords as he had his head down, trying to think of a way to inflict damage on the Boltons.

"No! We have the Drowned God on our side! These Bolton victories will be crushed and we will make them pay the Iron Price!" Said an angry Ironborn Lord at his colleague's comments.

"Face the facts! The Bolton fleet is seizing all routes and starting naval blockades on the Isles! If this continues we will be invaded by House Bolton at any moment! We need to prepare our troops and defend our Isles!" Shouted one of the Lords at the far side of the War Hall, that man was none other than Alyn Orkwood, Lord of House Orkwood and head of the Isle of Orkmont.

When some listened to Lord Oakwood, they couldn't help but agree, as defending their islands was considered vital if they were to survive against the House Bolton, but some kept saying that they should continue naval attacks, which made the War Hall noisy.

Balon got angry because of this, he hit the table that had the map of the Iron Islands, causing the discussion to end, as everyone focused their attention on Balon, who was even more pissed off than before.

"STOP THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW" yelled Balon as he looked at all the Lords present with clear anger, the Lords decided to keep quiet.

"We will continue the naval attacks, that brat's fleet is not invincible! But I agree with Lord Orkwood, we will also prepare our defenses to defend our islands" Balon said while pointing to some points on the map of the Iron Islands.

With Balon's orders already given, there was nothing they had to discuss, the Ironborn Lords in the War Hall just nodded their heads in agreement, as Balon's orders are absolute.

But that wouldn't do much good, for while they were busy deciding strategies, the naval invasions by House Bolton were already starting, with the Cult of Sauron being the first attacking force.

Orkmont

On Orkmont Island, the battle that would show the world the Military Power of the Cult of Sauron would be taking place, several ships of House Bolton were approaching one of the shores of the Island, with the symbols of House Bolton and the Cult of Sauron waving with pride side by side.

On one of the ships the soldiers of the Cult of Sauron, men, and women wearing armor equal to the Tower Guards of LOTR: BFME, the only differences being that the color of the armor is dark and has the symbol of the Cult of Sauron on the chest instead of the White Tree, were preparing for when they disembarked.

"Ok Company, listen up! Our orders are that together with other companies of the Legion we can make sure that the beaches in front of us are secured! The Ironborn can respond quickly or slowly, but do not let your guard down!" Shouted an officer from the Cult of Sauron's army, he was wearing the same armor as the others, but he had a cape along with the Armor, something only worn by officers.

Ensuring the beaches are under Bolton's dominance will mean they can advance without any problems, as it was decided to send in the Mountain Giants and Westerosi Giants when they have a foothold, as Domeric will lose infantry than his heavyweight forces.

Soon the ships arrived close to the beaches, and the soldiers of the Cult of Sauron began to leave without stopping the ships and stay in formation, but soon they saw Ironborn soldiers appearing to attack them, so they were waiting for the attack.

The Ironborn Archers were firing arrows non-stop, forcing the Cult soldiers to stay in the Ancient Roman Turtle Formation, while some soldiers stayed back to defend the archers who had just started to come out of the ships.

But in the midst of this, several soldiers have already died from some enemy arrows, in addition to which some Ironborn soldiers have already started to advance to attack the positions of the soldiers of the Cult of Sauron.

"HOLD THE POSITION" The Officer shouted as he drew his sword and prepared for the fight.

Soon the battlefield began to turn chaotic, with the Ironborn attacking in any way possible while the Cult of Sauron tried to defend itself and counterattack the Ironborn.

An Ironborn had a spear to his throat, while a Cult of Sauron soldier had a sword to his stomach, causing him to spit blood.

Elsewhere on the Battleground, a Cult of Sauron officer kills two Ironborn before taking several arrows to the chest, the soldiers were busy holding the Line, so they couldn't help the officer.

The officer was losing strength and on the verge of death on the sands of the beach, but then he remembered the family he had, the brothers and sisters dying at the hands of the Ironborn "Heretics" and his duty to Sauron and Domeric Bolton, it made with which he rose in the strength of hatred.

"BY SAURON! BY LORD BOLTON!" Shouted the Officer as he ripped the arrows from his chest using either his hands or his sword, then he returned to the battlefield with rage and a desire to kill.

This scared the Ironborn who were nearby because, for them, they saw a corpse come back to life, it made some of them piss their pants and take a few steps back.

While the battlefield was happening, several boats began to arrive on the beach with reinforcements, the boats came from ships that were far away, so they sent boats with troops because it would be easier to send reinforcements.

Soon the battle was turning in favor of the Cult of Sauron, the Cult's soldiers advancing every inch of ground while holding their ground against the Ironborn Soldiers and Archers.

"KEEP ADVANCE" Shouted one of the Cult soldiers as he had his shield raised to protect himself from the arrows.

Soon the Cult was able to advance without stopping against the Ironborn, most of the Ironborn began to flee the battlefield, while some surrendered.

A few troops stayed behind to tend to the prisoners while the rest moved forward to capture or kill the rest of the Ironborn.

The first of many battles on Orkmont Isle ended with the Cult of Sauron's victory, such news will spread to Westeros in the future, shocking many.
