Chapter 26 - King's Landing

After the song ended, everyone on the boat was cheering, but soon the cheering ended, as, the captain of the ship went to see the commotion.

"What the hell is going on here? I went to take a dump and everyone left their posts? Go back to your posts now, we'll soon be arriving at King's Landing" said the ship's captain.

Soon everyone ran to their posts, and only six of us were left.

"Taking advantage that we are almost there, I will go to see if Fenrir and Hela are ok, and make the planning for King's Landing, when we arrive, I want everyone to keep a low profile, in this city even the birds conspire." I spoke as I went to the place we left our things.

Hours later, I hear the boat bell ring.

"We're here boys! Get the goods ready for us to unload!" the captain shouted.

"Time to go, get in those bags, and avoid moving." I told Fenrir and Hela.

As if they understood perfectly what I said, the two of them got into their respective bags.

'Thank the Gods they're puppies, if they were a little bigger there's no way they wouldn't attract attention.'

*TOC*TOC*

"Arthur, we're here." Rhoslyn spoke, with the others following behind.

"I heard you, get your things."

"Arth, why hide them? Their appearances don't differ much from a cat and a puppy dog" I ask Rhoslyn.

"I know that, it's not in my nature to be discreet, but I want to avoid drawing attention in the capital, even more so now with the king's madness growing, the quicker we get out of this shit the better."

"And speaking of shit..."

"Holy shit, what is that shit smell" spoke Sigurd with his hand covering his nose.

"If this is bad enough for normal people, we who have acute senses are fucked. spoke Kevin.

"It feels like I shoved my face up a beggar's ass" said Sigurd.

"Even a bum's ass smells better. retorted Kevin.

"Fool, it's like we don't smell worse, or have you forgotten the smell of shit, urine, blood, fire and putrefaction?" Astrid spoke.

"Enough of the show, control your senses, try to isolate your sense of smell." I spoke.

"Is everyone ready?" I asked, everyone nodded.

"Then let's go, and don't forget, be discreet." I spoke.

Back at the bow of the boat, we waited for the ship to dock at the River Gate pier, or more popularly known, Mud Gate.

The moment the boat docked at the pier, I thanked the captain, and we quickly left.

"Where will Elric meet us Arthur?" Perseus asked.

"In the letter it said at a tavern called the Smiling Boar." I spoke.

"And where is that?" He asked.

"I have no idea, we'll have to find out." I spoke.

After a few minutes of walking we stopped at the huge gate of the wall that surrounded the city, after passing through the gate trying our best to avoid the guards we arrived at Fishmonger's Square.

The Square was packed with people, market vendors were shouting trying to attract people, the smell of fish and shit mixed in the air.

"I'm going to ask for information, stay here."

I went towards the beggar sitting on the ground, with a mug in his hand.

"Sir?" I asked as I stooped down.

"What is it?" The man asked with a harsh tone, the smell of low quality alcohol and rotten teeth, was almost worse than the smell of fish and shit.

"Do you know where a tavern called Smiling Boar is?" I asked.

"And what's in it for me?" Asked the man with a smile, at least what was left of it, for, his teeth were mostly gone, and what was left, were all rotted out.

"Will that do?" I asked as I showed him 5 copper coins.

"10 coins" he said.

Taking a deep breath not to sink my hand into his face, I took another 5 coins and placed them in his dirty hand.

"There you go"

"Hehehehe, today I'm going to drink myself to death" spoke the man laughing.

"The tavern?" I asked in a thick tone.

"Easy, that tavern is on the Street of Steel, you will walk until you find a store called Real Sword, turn in the alley after it, and you will get there, but know that even I think that place sucks." He spoke.

"Thanks," I said.

Approaching the group again, I guided them to the Street of Steel.

"Arthur, are you feeling it too?" Kevin asked, nodding at him, we continued on our way.

I took a knife that was in my robes and put it inside my sleeve.

"Feeling what?" asked Rhoslyn.

"We are being watched right when we get off the boat, don't try to look for it, it might alert them." I spoke.

"How come you two can sense, and we can't? Our senses have been enhanced as well." Astrid spoke.

"Kevin, Elric and I possess a kind of sixth sense, so it is easier for us, but if you focus it is possible for you to feel too, even normal people can feel, that is what we call intuition, later I can help you sharpen it a little, but it all depends on you." I spoke.

"Right" spoke Perseus.

Walking for a few minutes, I found the store the beggar had mentioned, and next to it was the alley.

When we entered the alley, four men surrounded us, two in front and two behind.

The moment they appeared, everyone was alert, and any movement would cut their jugulars.

"Look what we have here, 6 kids with full bags." Spoke a tall, dirty man, with dark, crooked teeth in his mouth, his clothes were rags, and in his hand was a knife.

"Can I help you?" I asked, as I readied the knife in my sleeve.

"You can, how about passing your bags and coming over here and sucking my cock?" Spoke the man.

Just as I was ready to jam my Valyrian steel knife into his eyeballs, 4 people dressed in black appeared behind each man, and jammed a blade attached to their armbands into their necks, and quickly pulled the bodies out and hid them behind some barrels in the alley.

"And you are?" I spoke, firming my grip on the knife.

"We are servants of Helheim."
