Revelation

Sorry guys. Didn't expect so much work waiting for me. Back to the update schedule like before. Enjoy!

"My Lady you surely jest!" I raised my voice a bit louder. "You want me to believe that the finest achievement of the old, golden lion is a farce? You would have better luck teaching Dothraki how to farm!" I leaned forward and looked into her eyes directly.

I can't feel any emotions that usually are clear to me when people are lying.

They should be chaotic, she should be doing her best to cover her lie and yet I can not perceive anything like that.

Cerea was just... calm. Her eyes never wavered, not even for a moment.

"... if it's a joke then it's not funny" I said after a moment of silence while calming down.

"I assure you it is not. Lord Dustin." she said and my only thought was impossible.

I'm sure that I have my serious look now and Noya's hands on her blades should confirm it.

"Who sent you? Guards!" I shouted loudly as I could and my men stormed the house from outside the door instantly.

The situation changed from there on. On one side 10 of my men with Noya standing behind me with daggers drowned, you don't use swords fighting in a tight room. On the other 5 young, unarmed women.

"Take the ladies to rest somewhere else, if they try anything you have my permission to strike them down!" I looked at the highest ranking guard and ordered with calm voice as they slowly started to move.

"I assure you this won't be necessary My Lord. Rina, take the girls, I'll be alright." I watched as Cerea instructed the women that didn't show a hint of fear.

There was some discontent in their eyes, but I don't really care! I have only one life!

After the rest left the room it was only us and Noya as my guard inside.

"You see Lord Dustin, I risked everything I have to meet you." She made a gesture with her hands by spreading them showing she has no bad intentions.

"If it is like that My Lady then you don't mind telling me how you know my name? The Dothraki call me Blood Stallion or Khal, the Lhazareens on the other hand Great One or Great Shepard and I'm sure my men didn't use it as well." I was surprised time after time in this short conversation and I have a feeling it's not the end of it.

"Before we get to that Lord Dustin I want to ask you a question... do you believe in magic?" her demeanor changed, I felt like the future of our relationship rested on my reply here and now. I don't know which answer she expects me to give so I choose to be truthful and nodded my head in confirmation.

It must've been the one she wanted to hear as her smile brightened the room we were in.

"That makes things simpler. There are different paths that can be taken in study of this art. It can be blood magic that makes people change or influence their thoughts. It can be fire magic with its destruction and mysteries. You could study dark arts like people in Asshai, dragon magic like old Valyria or clairvoyance to know your path... The others, Children of the forest, there are so many examples. Yet all of them have one thing in common... they originate and draw its power from nature. I don't know to much about the subject, even here in Essos without the faith of the Seven and the Maesters blocking the knowledge it's hard to find anything mentioning it." She wanted to go on as I cut her off.

"My Lady this is not a mystery to me, yet it still doesn't answer my question." I really hate loosing time like this.

"Oh but it does Lord Brendan." She had a small smile on her face. "I begged Rina's master to help me get my revenge and tell me the best option in my future to do so and here we are." Cerea stood up from he seat and went to pour herself some water. I nodded at Noya to do the same for us which she immediately went to do.

"In her vision she couldn't see you directly, fortunately she was able to find a connection that allowed us to meet." the blond lady in front of me turned again in my direction and started walking closer to her chair with a cup of water in her hand.

"Dothraki..." I whispered after thinking about it for a moment and she agreed.

"Yes. I left my men in the disputed lands and traveled here with only my guards just to have a chance of meeting you..." she sipped her drink.

"So the capture was a farce?" I asked as I wanted to make sure.

"Not all of it, no. The capture was real yet we could've escape whenever we felt like it." how is this girl so sure about that?

"You say it like it's an easy feat My Lady yet I assure you it is not." I said wanting to probe more of her secrets.

She just smiled calmly, looked to my side and blinked as my head started to hurt a bit more than previously again.

"Are you sure about that My Lord? Rina." the next thing I know is that there was a bloody mist coming out from my body as accompanied by increasing pain in my head. The same girl, Rina that went with my guards earlier came out from a shadow that was in the corner of the room.

Everyone in the room was surprised at the unfolding events. Noya and me because of all that happened, Cerea and Rina because of the red, bloody mist that seeped out of my body.

Between the impulses of pain when I was grabbing my head, now on my knees trying to ease the pain that came and went I saw Noya moving swiftly and grabbing Cerea by her hair with her short sword at her throat.

Before she could come through with her actions the bloody mist formed into what looked to be Mirri and looked at Rina.

"That's enough child. Anymore and I will kill you." the red phantom looked at Rina.

"Rina stop!" Cerea shouted visibly shaken by Noya's blade pressing on her throat.

The situation calmed itself and the pain slowly went away allowing me to think clearly again. I never felt so useless and vulnerable before.

"What the fuck was that..." I slowly wanted to get up, but my body had it's own mind keeping me on my knees panting. "Noya... stop... I need to know..." was the only thing that I could say before blood started to drip from my nose.

Seeing that, my guard left the blond girl without thinking and came up to me protectively taking me into her arms and moving away from everyone in the room to the corner never letting anyone out of her sight.

"Mirri..." I looked up asking for answers.

"Her magic Great One..." the phantom pointed at Rina. "It tried to invade your thoughts so the part of my magic with my consciousness I left for your protection activated." the ghost started to fade with every passing second.

"You said no magic will work on me..." I was pissed, but in my condition now there is nothing I can do but listen.

"It doesn't Great One, but it doesn't mean it will do nothing. You wouldn't even know what she tried to do if you would be affected by it, alas to make you aware of the try, your body reacted like that." she turned her head and looked at Cerea and Rina now standing together. "I would suggest you don't repeat this act child. His body is adjusted now so it will not work or hurt my master in any way. It will however make him aware of your futile attempt. Trust me child... If you try again I will come for your head..." the phantom vanished leaving it's last words echoing in the room.

"My apologies Lord Dustin, Rina... Rina was just worried about me..." Cerea knew that after that they are fucked. Her words shaken and resigned to their fate after that event.

"I want her head." Noya pointed her blade at Rina but didn't leave my side.

She might not look like it on a daily basis, but she is one of the most loyal people that I have under me so in her mind, getting me wounded is an unforgivable act.

Cerea stood in front of her aid trying to shield her. "My Lord mercy... She was just worried for my well being." she tied her best to explain.

I can't say that it was her fault that my body reacted like this, it was the same like in that dream on Bear Island only a bit lighter. I assume that it was because the girl is not as efficient at it as the fucking Three-Eyed Raven is. Still. I will use this to my advantage.

"Help by making me die?" I said supporting my body on Noya's arm.

"No My Lord! It was never like that! Usually you should just be influenced and more opened to my suggestions!" she hastily said.

"So by influencing my thoughts you want to negotiate? That's a shitty way of going about it My lady, excuse my language." I moved with Noyas aid to the chair and sat down while grabbing the water that was on the table next to it and pointing at the chair in front of me.

Cerea moved slowly and sat down again.

"I agree on that one My Lord." she said and smiled lightly.
