Chapter 5: The Real Sacking

< Third POV >

The Lannister army breached the gates of King's Landing.

Starting from those closest to the gates, the Lannisters started attacking any civilian they could find, the cavalry charge stopped for nothing, charging towards the Red Keep killing all in their way, eventually the infantry came to clear up any stragglers alive and started to pillage everything in sight.

*Streets*

"Please mercy... stop!" a merchant selling fish was slaughtered in cold blood.

*Homes*

A boy watched helplessly as his mom was grabbed by three soldiers coated in gold and red away from him, "Mom! Let go of my mot-" he started crying and yelling, stood up and started to chase them, but just as he moved closer he was stabbed in the chest by a fourth soldier who quickly caught up.

*Butcher Shop*

"Let go of her you fuckers" a butcher boy watched his father get killed and his mother clothes being ripped in front of him, he quickly grabbed a butcher knife and lodged it right into a Lannister soldiers neck, blood gushing out. Using immense strength he pulled the knife back out and swung it at another soldier who was holding his mother down.

"Wait.. wait." The Lannister soldier was cut short as the butcher knife cleaved his lower jaw off his face, only to flail in pain and slowly die.

The butcher boy taking deep breaths, slowly walks towards his trembling mom, only for the door to open again with three more Lannister soldiers rushing in, despair wailed into the young boys heart as he screamed out to charge, only to be shot by a crossbow bolt and fall to the ground helplessly, last thing he heard was his mothers cry.

Chaos and fire ensues from the start of the gate making its way slowly towards the Red Keep.

The cries of women and children are heard around the city, with metal clashing together creating a symphony of the crusade that's upon the people of King's Landing. 

You may see brave men fighting back or being trampled and slaughtered, Targaryen soldiers defending their homes, or families being overrun by armored Lannister troops.

This was a disaster for any Targaryen soldier or civilians, the lack of time preparedness, and being too used to closed cities without wars left them stale and unresponsive to such a sudden surprise attack.

The acts of killing from the Lannister army had started to visibly stop, each sector they cleared they would reward themselves on the weak and vulnerable. No one could stop them either.

Kevan Lannister, Tywin's brother was trusted to lead a separate charge of soldiers towards flea bottom, killing any hidden Targaryen bloodline he can think of, but this soon started turning into another pillaging fest.

Kevan was always a more upright man compared to his brother, although majority of his actions are to benefit house Lannister, but he does not see how raping and torturing woman and children alike as beneficial to his house.

He could not stand such savagery especially if this is to be reclaimed later, any soldier he found he would kill himself leading this to become the most safe place from this genocide, if you were a woman at least.

Eventually the charge of cavalry with a leading Tywin met with the final defenders of the Targaryen army in front of the Red Keep, a fight ensued from both sides, horses wailing in pain, forces on both sides reaching devastating loss. This final attack will determine the outcome of the battle, if Tywin wins, he shall rush into the Red Keep ending the Mad King's Life, if the Targaryen wins, the Lannister army will be defeated and Tywin's ambition will end here.

During this, Daeryn Black was navigating the streets to get back to Maegor's Holdfast, along his way he would encounter civilians running and trampling others, he watched as a young girl was pushed aside and trampled.

He truly started to realize the horrors of this war.

He even watched these same civilians under the fear of death become a beast, grabbing women around them and pulling them, fights started to happen from this, only to be slain by the Lannister coming from behind and finish whatever they wanted to start.
