CHA7: Aftermath and A surprise

I stood there in front of Fran who was lying on the ground coaching bits of blood and breathing heavily trying to catch his breath back Leon walked up and signaled two bannerman who were there to watch as we spared as well.

They both came up and swung each of Fran's arms over their shoulders and dragged him off to the maester`s tower and Leon then looked at me and spoke.

"Excellent work brat now get in line with the others." He praised and ordered me and I only nodded in return and left to join the other squires who were staring at me and discussing among each other and I decided to listen in and wonder what they thought of me.

"Did you see that he wiped the floor with Fran and made it look so easy?" one of the squires in Frans group spoke to another.

"Yeah, and you saw how brutal Draco was as well, He's a real monster I hope I don't ever spar or fight against him." the other one said.

similar talks started to spread amongst the squires while most stared at me with fear, jealousy, wonder, or respect But mostly fear and when I approached the line they made space for me to stand with my blood-covered mace and hand.

I then looked over to the Instructors and trainers some gave nods while others gave no reaction at all but the Knight whose form I copied gave me a nod of respect and I returned it in kind after all it's his form I used.

we then waited for a bit for everything to calm down and It slowly got quiet as Leon Spoke again.

"Right after that little spar is over let's continue, Next up Adam Grey and Karn Hartlock!" he announced and two random squires stepped up both worn leather armor and helmets one had a long spear with a short sword on his waist while the other also had a Long sword they are still practicing weapons.

I just stared at them trying to learn any weaknesses and strengths in their weapons of choice and as they got ready to take some form and stared at each other off and waited for the signal to start.

Leon also stood in the middle of the two and screamed.

"Start" and with his hand in the air, he let it fall and walked out of the ring to see the squire's spar.

So they attacked each other the spear wielder kept his distance trying to keep the long sword wielder away and on guard and pokeing here and there after all the long sword wielder could have just cut off the spearhead if it was a real blade but not here and he was constantly either deflecting trying to get close.

The spear was backing up into a corner and the long sword saw an upertonety and dashed towards the spear user after deflecting the spear downward and stepping on it breaking off the spear head.

The spear user quickly pulled out his short sword parried the long sword to the side and went in for a cut to the chest but was also parried and the long sword shoulder bashed him out the ring signaling his win.

After that Leon called more esquires to spar and it went on for hours long.

( 6 hours later )

A squire was on his knees with a great axe to his throat and was sweating a lot and I was only studying how they're forms work their pros and cons and their weaknesses and Leon spoke up.

" Winner!" He pointed to the squire holding the Great axe 

"Alright get to the line brats." He spoke and both squires moved tiredly to the line because their spar lasted quite a bit and we waited for Leon to give us orders.

"Alright, One more spar should do." As we spoke all us squires wondered who would fight again because we all fought already and waited for the squires to be called.

"Draco Thorns and Bran Hiltguard step forth." He called my name again and I was not complaining I will get more practice in with this my new sparing partner stepped forth and I saw him wielding a long spear and...

Nothing else I wondered in confusion and as I was thinking I came to the result most likely a hidden blade better be ready for that from what I saw from his previous spar he was very tricky because he attacks from the sides and uses the spear range to his advantage but lets see how he will do with me.

We both stood in the center facing each other and he looked at me ... nervously .. after all, I can't blame him because I was very brutal when it came to Frans and he most likely remembered how badly I beat his face.

Good let him it will play well to my advantage I gave him a crazy grin to put some extra kick in him and it worked he looked around at some of the knights as if asking for help from them.

As he was looking around like a crazy man I got into my new form I copied from that knight with my knees bucked forward and my shield at the front of my chest and mace above my head.

As I waited my sparing partner also got into stance shaking a bit because he knew I was not going to hold back and boy was he right on that Leon stepped up and repeated the same motion he had done for a while now with him in between us his hand in the air looking at us.

I gave him a firm nod and the other squire in front of me gave a shaky one and he nodded at both of us and yelled.

"Begin!" lowering his hand and backing out of the ring I stepped forward slowly I planned to corner him and then attack while he wasted his energy attacking me as just as I thought that he tried throwing a few jabs at me and I just used my shield to block and deflect his attacks while keeping him in front of me.

As I slowly advanced towards him, he started to get frantic and started to windly attack me and nearly at the edge.

[Come on just a bit more] I thought because it's getting tricky trying to predict his wild attacks.

And when he was near the edge of the ring and a bit tired I started my attack after I sidestep his spear brought my shield down on it and broke off the tip and then I just at him before he could pull any hidden blade or recover from the stun.

I hit him in the gut with my mace knocking the air out of him as well then I gave an upward swing and gave him an uppercut to his chin and broke a few teeth and some bits flew out his mouth along the spit.

Before he could land I jumped into the air throwing a downward stick with my mace impacting his chest and then I heard a loud crack as my mace made contact and he screamed in pain.

But before anyone could stop the match I picked him up from the ground and gave another upward strike hitting his chin and breaking his jaw in the process making him fly out of the ring and land sprawled on the ground knocked out.

After that, I stepped away to give Leon room to check on the squire, and after Leon looked at the injury than signaled four bannerman to carry him away to the maester to heal him up and join Frans in his recovery.

After he was dragged off by the bannerman Leon spoke out loud to the ground and stared at me god smacked at my performance because I didn't get hit once after all I used my shield to my advantage and waited for the right moment to strike.

"Winner Draco Thorns!" He yelled and Most of the squires clapped at the performance even some bannerman and knights.

I stood there with dried blood on me waiting for my orders and not saying a word to the praise or even giving a reaction to it and Leon started to walk towards me and stood in front of me.

He then spoke to me with a small smile on his face.

"That was some excellent work and fighting style out there brat, but don't let that get to your head you hear me." I nodded at his paise and warning.

"Right join the line so that I can give a speech." After he told me that I went and stood there among the other squires once again looking at Leon.

At first, he only looked at us as we waited for him to speak.

"Right then that will be all for today and some of you may have lost and some have won but don't let that get to your head this was a practice for you to see where you need to work on." He explained to us and we nodded.

"Good That will be all today and tomorrow will be a day off for you all to rest and heal up a bit but does who wish to train more can come and do so." And we all got happy at his words.

"First get cleaned up and go check the injury you may have gotten then you are free to leave at any moment." He told us and we went to do precisely that.
