63 Battle of the Trident part 3

(283Ac Few miles away from the trident main rebel tent that currently occupied by Lord Arryn and lord Hoster Tully. They are there because both of their status is now a none combatant).

( POV Ser Claw coldhand) one of Alan's former squires rushing hurriedly for his battle reports)

Why the seven hell !!! am I doing this? I'm not some messenger boy. I should've fought the Royalist forces with Ser Alan. sigh!

Before the fight began Ser Alan ordered us to stay out of the fight. "listen to me, don't be foolish, the lives of you Three are much more important to me than my own. I won't take any risk no matter what. no matter how experienced you are, A single mistake could get you killed. So do what I say. because I have a different task for you guys. You'll have the glory in different ways." is the thing he told us.

But We wanted fight the enemies with him!! protect him with our lives if necessary.

Though we know that's not needed. Because the man is a one man army of his own. But it still bothered us. (sigh)

I was very disappointed that I could not join the battle, But seeing how he cares about us is something that brought us to tears. He puts the priority of our lives more than himself. I wish I could somehow repay love and care he gave us.

Someday we will, with our undying loyalty.

Ser Alan gave each one of us different duty's.

Colt was given the command to protect the main camp of the Rebel forces with two thousand knights. Those knights are the one that came with him from the Vale. Most of them are from wynewood Land.

It was not big amount of responsibility in my opinion, Because Ser Alan told him, if the rebel forces loose the battle, He would have to escort Lord Arryn to the bloody Gate safely. And also to be weary of the Fray Army that will be coming later.

And that's was basically Colts Job. protect the rebel camp and Lord Arryn and if the situation become worse retreat to the bloodyGate.

Then Ser Alan gave Hale a different task and also a task force. Ser Hale and some hundred veteran knights will be watch over the west. Hale's duty is eliminate any Lannister scouts. And also to scout the movement of the Lannister forces.

Well, in my opinion Hale is the best Rider amongst us, So I think it'll will be easy for him to do that. Also Hale is very good at scouting himself. Thus it's very suitable mission for Hale.

But before Hale leave for his mission Ser Alan seriously warned him to retreat, If he sees the mountain Gregor Clegane? Ser Alan told him that 'do not to engage in a fight with Clegane at all costs. Even if you had to sacrifice your own subordinates'. Is what he told him. Though that words came out pretty dark, but we all know that he said those words to protect him. I believe that Hale is intelligent enough, so he can take care himself.

And lastly my duty was to inform about situations of the battlefield to Lord Arryn and other Lords that stayed in the main camp. So basically my master made me a massenger boy. the most annoying job I could hope for. (Sigh) Why? why me of all people....?

But how could I refuse order from the man I devoted to serve for life? So I did what I'm ordered to do. And observed the battle from safe distance.

The battle is ended with our victory ofcourse. The Royalist Army is crushed. And I needed to report this to Lord Arryn.

After a few minutes later I reached the main camp of Lord Arryn. After giving the guards a firm nod I entered the tent.

When I entered inside the tent I saw Lord Arryn and Lord Tully discussing with few other elderly lords. Then Lord Arryn saw me and imidiatly ordered silence. And signaled me to come forward.

Then he asked me, "Ser Claw what News do you brought us now?"

I replied, " We have won my Lord. The Royalist army is defeated".

The tent become silent, A whole minutes later they reacted with overjoyed shouts. I know everyone here is delighted with the news of victory. So w're I, And rest of my fellow comrades. And watching the way these lords celebrating is a very good feast for the eyes.

Then when they finally cooled down, Lord Arryn asked me, " Well, thank you Ser Claw, But we like to receive the full report. please explain it as much as you can".

I cleared my throat and replied, " um... yes my lord. As you can see that we might have won the battle, But at great cost. Half of our foot soldiers died in the first clash against the Royal army. And most of them are from the first wave lead by Ser Alan Winters. And they're nearly wiped out. Before killing twice the amount of enemies".

Then I took a moment to see their expression. Some of them looked sad but most of did not cared about the lives common soldiers.

" The Vale cavalry contingent in our left flank successfully defeated the dornish forces. And our right flank also successfully hold out the enemies. The victory is gained by Lord Robert himself. When he successfully killed the rapist prince Raegar Targaryen himself in a duel. Though lord Robert has also been fatally injured. So Ser Alan Winters is taken the charge to capture as many as loyalist soldiers, knights, lords as possible."

They looked satisfied with my report. So I added something on the top."And also some of my scouts reported that the citadel and the Septs have sended a few hundred healers to aid wounded. I'm truly sorry my Lords, but these are all the information about the battlefield I have gathered at the moment."

They didn't looked very surprised with the last news, Because these two organization always helped the wounded lords and knights and common soldiers. And they also stayed neutral. But I kinda feel like they are supporting us more than the current dynasty.

Then Lord Arryn thanked me again and told me that I've done a excellent work, And these reports would be enough for now. After some more celebration they're about to dismiss the current meeting.

But out of nowhere Colt entered the tent and reported that the banner of Fray Army is sighted. And all could see lord Hoster Tully Cursing the them for being late. He even announced to hang Lord Fray for coming soo late. half an hour later another person entered the tent and it's none other than Lord Holster's son Edmure Tully. Then they had a father son reunion. No not a reunion but Lord Tully scolding his son, "I give you a single job. And that is to protect the castle Riverrun And your sisters in it. was the duty too much for you to handle? Why the hell ! did you choose came here with the Fray soldiers ? what if they took you as a hostage? Do you have any knowledge what would've happen to your family ? You disappointed me for the last time, Now leave out of my sight And return to Riverrun imidiatly." Though the young man was heartbroken by his father's scolding and angrily left the tent.

But few minutes later he returned and the young Lord Edmure apologized to lord Hoster, " Father I've come here with the reinforcement from the twins. Hope that it would be helpful so I came with them when they passed by Riverrun. I rode fast here to inform you about them In advance. I'm truly sorry that I left my sisters at Riverrun alone." Then we saw Lord Tully forgave his son. And gave him some valuable advice. Then the young Lord inform that his sister Lysa is pregnant for two months now. And the information made the two elderly lords overjoyed. Me and Colt also congratulated them.

But I have some other duties so I took my leave and returned to the trident to look for Ser Alan. I need to gather full report of the casualties.
