The moon cast an eerie glow on the snow-covered forest. The air was still and silent, save for the distant hoot of an owl. In the heart of the woods, a pair of glowing eyes peered from the darkness of the forest. A hungry wolf, its grey coat matted with snow, emerging from the shadows between the ancient trees that dotted this forest.
It's stomach growled, a painful reminder of the days since it had last eaten.
The wolf sniffed the air, its keen sense of smell picking up the faint scent of prey and it was a big one, with this her children could survive this winter. It moved with stealthy grace, its paws barely disturbing the snow. A deer, unaware of the predator lurking nearby, grazed peacefully in a nearby clearing. The wolf crept closer, its every muscle tense for preparation for the upcoming struggle and anticipation.
With a sudden burst of speed, the wolf lunged. The deer bolted, its hooves kicking up snow as it tried to escape. The chase was on. The wolf was relentless with purpose, its hunger driving it forward. Through the dense forest, they ran, the deer desperately trying to outrun its predator and and it's bringer of death.
Finally, exhausted and cornered, the deer fell to the ground. The wolf pounced, sinking its teeth into the deer's neck. A struggle ensued, but the wolf was too strong to the deer. The deer's cries echoed through the forest as it met its end...
The wolf then drag the corpse towards it's lair. Where her pups feast on her hunt, And with bellies full and drifted to sleep, it dreamed of the day when it would have no need to hunt.
