Death God Hela?
Eve's heart skipped a beat, memories related to the world tree surged forth instantly.
Hela, also known as Death God and Lord of the Netherworld, is an ancient True God who governs death, aging, and disease, possesses the strength at the pinnacle of medium Divine Power, and is incredibly mysterious.
Legend has it that she resides somewhere in the Netherworld and hardly participates in the strife among True Gods, even when her divine duties seem almost contradictory to the world tree, she did not partake in the divine warfare of a millennium ago.
Of course, there is also a rumor that the reason she abstains from the divine conflicts is due to having sustained grievous injuries in an ancient battle and has been recuperating ever since...
Despite the injuries, no one dares to covet the Lord of the Underworld.
In the Netherworld, Hela is an invincible being.
Moreover, one thing is for certain: aside from the souls of living creatures, this True God has little interest in the fights over believers. Her followers rarely walk upon Segis Continent.
"How could Hela's Soul Storage Orb have fallen into Elf Forest?"
Eve felt perplexed.
However, this was not entirely unexpected.
In Segis World, True Gods often bestow their personal items unto their followers as Divine Artifacts for their use.
And amid various conflicts, it is quite common for Divine Artifacts to be lost.
Unless it is an artifact that a True God values highly, they generally are not interested in retrieving an artifact once lost.
After all, an artifact might contain only a few points of a Divine's Divine Power, and since the Divine Power within the artifact does not include Divine Blood Crystals that contain divine authority power, those powerful True Gods aren't very concerned.
Chasing after a meager amount of Divine Power with such big efforts—it's simply not worth it.
Consequently, this has led to the flood of Divine Artifacts among the non-divine high-end powers in the Segis World...
With this thought in mind, Eve smiled faintly, playing with the Soul Storage Orb once again.
Sure enough, after delving deeply into it, she found it contained 5 points of Hela's Divine Power!
This brought a slight joy to Eve. Although her divine duties were contrary to Hela's, if she absorbed the Divine Power from this orb, she could transform it into 3 points of Natural Divine Power!
However, after momentarily considering it, she abandoned the idea.
"If I absorb the Divine Power from this orb, then it would no longer be a Divine Artifact..."
Eve looked at the orb, deep in thought:
"Hela is profoundly knowledgeable about souls, reputed to even create Divine Artifacts that can contain Divine Soul Power. I wonder if this orb possesses such a function?"
Unfortunately, the orb is currently damaged, and after examining it, Eve found its abilities to be limited to "storing Divine Power," "storing Soul Power," and "converting the undead."
"Perhaps, once I have repaired it, I might be able to unveil its full capabilities. Hehe, if it really can contain Divine Soul Power, some of my plans may proceed ahead of schedule..."
Eve was quite tempted.
She thought of an avatar!
To know, the main reason preventing her from sending down an avatar was that with her current level of Divine Power, she was unable to create a body that could support her Divine Soul Power.
But if the orb could contain Divine Soul Power, she could use the orb as the core to create a body for her Divine Descent!
Not only that, but the existence of Hela's Divine Power within the orb could also conceal her presence, enabling her to avoid recognition by other True Gods in critical moments—this would be much more useful than an avatar created by herself!
Although the potential of players is infinite and native believers are excellent aides, this doesn't mean Eve must rely entirely on them—they are still too weak, and there are matters much more conveniently handled by her alone.
For instance, if Eve possessed a body crafted around the core of Hela's Soul Storage Orb, she could single-handedly obliterate a Goblin lair on her own without fearing retribution from Uller, the frigid Hunting God.
She could also provide clandestine assistance to her players when they clash with Uller's minions, taking care of troubles the players cannot handle.
Uller himself wouldn't have a clue, at most suspecting a follower of the Death God was behind the deeds.
However, what do Hela's followers have to do with me, the world tree?
Cough cough... Anyway, since Death God Hela is just a shut-in who stays in the Netherworld without interacting with other gods, if Uller did take notice, it could just be reluctantly pinned on her.
Would Uller, a weakling with minor Divine Power, dare to trouble someone with moderate Divine Power?
Anyway, having a body free to move is essential from any angle.
Thinking this, Eve immediately began to repair the Treasure Bead, but discovered upon starting that a complete restoration would require at least 20 points of Divine Power and a significant amount of time.
"Now I only have 25 points of Divine Power. If I begin repairing the Treasure Bead all at once, and my Divine Power falls below 10, I fear I'll immediately fall into a deep sleep."
With this thought, Eve decided to put this matter on hold and act after the players had cleared out the Goblins in Feilengcui.
"Let's hope the number of Divine Blood Crystals collected by the Goblins don't disappoint me..."
She thought expectantly.
...
In the Elf Forest.
After a day's battle, the sun had set, and the players also started feeling tired, so they decided to return to the camp to rest.
Of course, fatigue was one aspect, and another was that many were planning to level up and change classes, while others planned to go watch.
After this mission, more than half of the 300 players had reached level 10, and nearly a hundred had reached the criteria to advance to level 11 Black Iron.
Unlike promotions before level 10, advancing to level 11 Black Iron requires going through the class upgrading process at the Natural Temple. Hence, players hurried back and started queuing in front of the Natural Temple in Elf Town...
"Even class upgrading requires queuing? This is a bit too realistic, right?"
Looking at the dozen people ahead of him, Demacia complained.
Upon hearing his words, Li Mu shrugged:
"You have to queue for quests, not to mention class changing."
"I'm quite curious about how this will work after the official release..."
"That's no longer our concern."
They conversed as they moved forward with the queue.
At the very front of the line, there were players who had successfully changed classes coming out.
Li Mu could vaguely hear them excitedly discussing things like "contribution points", "equipment", "skills", which made him very curious.
Could it be... contribution points are for exchanging for equipment and skills?
He speculated.
The players who had successfully changed classes were very excited. They moved their bodies around and eagerly tried out sword techniques or magic.
From a distance, Li Mu could feel that these players' strength had greatly increased, to say that their power had soared was an understatement.
He clearly saw Little Xian Miao coming out of the temple. The elven girl excitedly threw a Fireball Technique at an ancient tree in the front right, and then... blew up a nearly-complete house to her front left.
Of course, she was swiftly invited by the construction crew leader, Gugu Bird, for a 'tea talk' afterward.
"I wonder whose house that was, it's pretty tragic."
Li Mu shook his head.
Hearing Li Mu's comment, Demacia curiously followed his gaze...
His smile gradually disappeared...
"Fuck! It seems like it's mine!"
Bellowing out in anger, Demacia shouted:
"Little Xian Miao, stop right there! My two-story villa!"
After shouting, he didn't care about the queue anymore and charged over...
Li Mu: ...
He offered a second of silent tribute to Demacia in his heart and continued standing in line.
A short while later, it was finally his turn.
