Guilt Is Too Much

"Hello uncle" She greeted her uncle very politely and happily, she loved him with all her heart as after her parent's death only he was the one she can call her family and he loved her the same.

"Hello my lovely beautiful daughter, how have you been, tell me everything I missed" Im Seok asked her hugging and patting her head.

"I'm very good uncle, I got my internship in Continental Hospital, my part time job is also going well, I'm able to afford good living thanks to scholarship money and job, so don't worry much about me uncle. How are you and how're things at home, does my aunt is treating you well or do I need to teach her good manners?" Both chuckled as she said her last sentence.

Lee Jieun felt guilty as she can't talk about everything happened that night as his uncle would get very worried and she was afraid his uncle would think she has bad character as she slept at a stranger's house.

"I'm good my child and you don't need to worry about your aunt at all you know I can handle her, you just need to worry about yourself, I wish you all the luck and success for your internship, be the best doctor in this world" Im Seok said with all love to her.

She was moved listening to her uncle's words, she was glad that there's one person left in this world who love her genuinely.

"Don't worry uncle I'll work very hard, you know it's my dream since childhood"

"You will choose your dream branch then?" He asked with a hint of sadness in his eyes.

"Yes, pediatrics is what I'm passionate about, you know how important this is to me" She said with something burning in her eyes.

"Then you need to work even more harder, I'll be praying for your success always you know that"

"Yes uncle, I know you are always there for me" She said with a bright smile.

They both ordered breakfast, chatted and ate all morning.

Waiter brought the bill, Lee Jieun took it for paying.

Im Seok took the bill from her hands "What are you doing, it's my job to feed my sweet child, I already can't do anything for you atleast let me pay the bill whenever we meet" Im Seok said sadly.

"Uncle I know you want to do everything for me but aunt keeps your expense records, if she knows you came here to meet me you'll be in unnecessary trouble because of me"

"I'm already ashamed that we are living in wealth because of your parents and you have to work for yourself to make a living because of your aunt and now she won't even let me feed you, I won't accept this anymore, I'm paying the bill that's final, I will handle your aunt don't worry, you just need to focus on your medical studies, I will even try sending you some money and you will not say no or refuse it for my sake, understood?" Im Seok said with all his determination, his heart ache seeing this poor child's condition, there family is thriving with good money because of their parents' and she has to work this hard for even living, she already has very painful past and still has to suffer more, he held himself also responsible for not taking her stand firmly in front of his wife and letting this poor child live like this, the guilt is too much for him.

Im Seok paid the bill, both hugged eachother and greeted their goodbyes.

Lee Jieun went straight to her part time job and got changed for her work.
