Plato's Joseki
Can't recommend this and I really hope this doesn't get picked. We're less than 20 chapters in and Chinese racism against the Japanese is already a thing, I'm not mad, just disappointed. This is entire novel summarised: a Chinese take on a bad JP Power Fantasy. There isn't anything that interesting or fun about this, he just smacks everything with his max level cultivation and 2000 dao companions are just an obnoxious setting. The characters, setting and plot are so bad that I'm embarrassed that someone wrote this, so much cringe. There is so much wrong and with this novel that I don't know where to start so just take my word for it. Cringe CN Power Fantasy + really bad harem. 0/5.
oh there is great catastrophe in great xia... first thing foreigners do... lets make fun of china... just to get face slapped... MC is OP and can fix every problem on earth, but chooses only to protect the great xia... couldnt get past 10 chapters... low quality wish fulfillment power trip fantasy with extra nationalism and probably standard BS racism...
My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this novel gave me cancer anyway.
MC is too passive. He no life’ a game for 10 years then when the game world merged with the real world, he became the strongest in the world. Only he went back to the menial joke he worked instead of planning for the day when raid bosses starts to appear. Meanwhile, the world is falling apart because the law can’t be enforced on evil immortals and the appearance of raid bosses that are on his level. All the problems he faces are due to his own inaction early on, only to end up having to solve it later.
Book is fine but the cultivation concept is very wrong. Normal earth becomes a cultivation world, mc is op, he doesn't know any disguise technique whatsoever, till now no earth expansion, nationalism is common tropes so it can be ignored but author is truly ignorant about the people of other countries (here china is tiger, all alone, and other countries are hyenas, living in pack). Also, cultivators are strangely obedient to some fault. That's it, I love the story, I also hope there would be higher world in future chapters.
