The Game: Arcanum Ages of Valor | Aisa's pov and Butch.

---In the game room---

Aisa and Ken sat in their game setups, Ken browsing the net for any additional information while Aisa chatted with a friend she had made in one of the VR games.

Bip Bip Bip!

An alarm rang out; it was Aisa's phone.

She quickly turned it off and turned to Ken.

"6 AM, so let's get in already..."

Aisa said sulkily. Ken smiled, a little awkwardly. He knew what was going on with her, but he had his reasons.

[Poor girl... Her dearest big brother is a jerk for letting her sulk like that! He should have sat down and told her he knew about the supernatural world already!!!]

The system rebelliously shouted, amused by the situation.

'She needs to grow... I can't have her rely on me. She will figure out that I know about the supernatural soon, but since I won't bring this topic up upfront, she won't either. Aisa is understanding; she might ask for help here and there, but it will either be for something very small or indirectly.'

Ken explained with a sigh, feeling that if he didn't clarify, the system would just say something more annoying.

He shifted his attention back to Aisa, who had puffed out her cheeks, looking pouty—but that only made her cuter.

"Let's go, get going, no point in waiting," she urged and quickly got into her VR pod, logging in.

[Hmm, Pouty Aisa is more cute. You should consider making her pout more~]

Ken's lip twitched, but for now, he ignored the system and got into his VR pod, logging in, directly into the game.

"Welcome to the Arcanum Ages of Valor!" A tomboyish voice greeted him as Ken appeared, floating in space again. "The world is full of dungeons and monsters with mystical lands and forbidden truths that lie at every corner. The realm where we bring VR into Reality!"

Ken is usually adjusted to the space environment and looked around, paying little attention to the voice.

"What you see below is the land of the Arcanum Ages of Valor!" The voice said and Ken shifted his attention below, his eyes slightly showing surprise.

Below was a planet, with a lot of greens and blues around. But looked nothing special.

"And you, my friend, will be going on your adven-"

"Skip,"

Ken didn't care, he already knew what he needed to know, so he was just wasting his time there.

The surroundings suddenly changed to a training ground and Ken was now standing on solid ground.

[Finally, you are in the game! Things are going to be interesting from now~!]

The system commented, excitement in her voice, but there was her laziness hidden, which clearly told Ken that she was bored.

'Just say you are bored.' Ken called her out, while he looked around.

There was nothing special, it was just a normal medieval training ground. There were a few people there, all looking around in excitement and curiosity. Above their heads there were name tags, differentiating them as players.

Ken's expression suddenly changed to indifference, a habit that he made to avoid certain troubles and for others to feel unwelcome around him. A way to avoid drama.

He didn't waste more of them and walked out, stepping into a wide alleyway that was surprisingly clean for a medieval city.

"Map"

Ken called out and a blue screen, the in-game screen popped up, showing him the city layout and where he was. A white dot on the map represented him, there was another dot shown on the map, and a green dot that represented a friend, the dot was not far from the white dot, but it was slowly moving further away.

[Hmm, this feature is very useful. I wonder why they never used it properly in the anime. I feel like the anime was more for smart adults who are into dark gore fantasy.]

"It is," he replied, his voice flat. "This world is a mess. It's all happy and cheery on the surface, but there is a lot of darkness hiding in every corner. The darkness is like an abyss here; you can't find the end of it."

The system through for a moment while Ken tapped on the green dot and a name tag appeared on top of the dot, 'Aisa Valxin'.

He started to head towards Aisa.

[Hmmm, As far as I have reached in the anime, through your memories, I'm pretty sure there isn't just darkness like the abyss, but also a great deal of brightness that lurks behind the abyss.]

The system said, her voice turning cheery.

A frown briefly came upon Ken's face.

"What do you mean by 'through your memories'? I do not appreciate a troublemaker having access to my memories..." he questioned in a sharp tone but kept his indifferent expression.

[Hehehe~ Oh, don't worry about it~ I can't access your memories, your anomalous nature makes it nearly impossible to access your memories plus I am restricted by Thraxis. Also, Thraxis is the one that gave me the anime in the form of your memories, Don't worry, I only have a very tiny bit of your memory that is unimportant~ No need to get worked up about it]

She giggled, if she had a physical form then she would have laughed.

"You said that on purpose, trying to get a rise out of me..." he stated, narrowing his eyes in suspicion.

But the system went quiet, which somewhat irritated Ken who can't get used to her.

Ken ignored the system and focused on the map, he was closing in on Aisa fast. Entering a food market, he smoothly walked through the crowds.

His appearance started to catch some unwanted eyes, but for now, he ignored them all and closed in on Aisa who was very hard not to be noticed with her long pure white hair that shined in the morning sunlight.

"Aisa." Ken called out, "You are going the wrong way."

He stopped 3 meters from here, his eyes briefly shifting to the one right beside her.

---Aisa's pov---

"6 AM, so let's get in already..." I spoke out loud my tone annoyed and pouty, which I noticed more than anything and I pouted even more.

Ugh... I can't even sound annoyed... I just sound like a spoiled brat...

"Let's go, get going, no point in waiting," I urged again and quickly got into my VR pod and logged, appearing in the personal space my and big brother shared.

I sat down and stared at the moon.

I want to tell him everything there but... I might end up relying on him if I do... Even so, he is still strong... Dad said Big Brother would be my greatest support to reach the top.

But how do I tell him? Bring it up in a conversation?? Make him feel something is off and then let him investigate??? No, I can't, if big brother starts to investigate, it would be disastrous to Dad's plans...

Ugh! Why does he need to be so unconcerned about me today of all days!! If he showed concern like he usually does then I could just explain about the supernatural... But I could also just tell him directly, right?

Uhhhhhhhhhhh... He will find out sooner or later...

"Log into Arcanum Ages Of Valor," I commanded, I shouldn't go over this anymore. Big Brother is Big Brother, he will figure it out.

The surroundings changed suddenly and I was floating again. My body stiffened slightly, feeling no ground on my feet.

"Welcome to the Arcanum Ages of Valor!" A tomboyish voice greeted me, "The world is full of dungeo-"

"Dont want to hear it! Email me the info, and I will check it later,"

I cut off the voice, I didn't want to go through the lores and whatever was there for the introduction. I will probably get bored and fall asleep.

The surroundings changed again and I was standing now. My legs nearly gave out from the sudden change, but I managed to keep standing. Looking around it was just a normal medieval training ground.

There was no one else other than me here, I quickly lost interest so I left. Stepping outside I appeared in an alleyway which was surprisingly clean... Not what I expected from a medieval world but I am more than fine with it.

I played a simulation that was said to be the most accurate simulation of a medieval world. But looks like it was false, I hope the city is also clean.

There weren't any people around, which was given, this place looked like somewhere near the edge of the city or around the unpopular area.

I started to wander around, walking aimlessly. I had to meet with Big Brother before heading my way but I am still a little upset so I won't... Will only wander around till I randomly find him now.

"Hey! Girl you look lost!"

A gruff and somewhat young voice called out, making me turn around. There was no one else around so It had to be me... what a pain but I can ask for directions now.

In front of me was a guy who looked to be like 20 or something, with brown hair, and brown eyes. An OK face... nothing notable, will forget him in a while.

"Little girl, you going somewhere?"

"Who you calling little!?"

I glared at the guys, the nerves to call me little! I am 14, an adult!

"Hey, calm down!" I am just curious if you were lost and maybe I could help. I was heading in the same direction as you were and noticed you looked out of it and asked just in case! And to have a small chat with a beautiful lady like you,"

The guy explained, hands up in surrender but I only looked at him coldly, I don't like him but he is the only one around so I can't kill him... Need to ask for directions. Huff! Who does it think he is!? No one calls me a little... Except for Big Brother, he can call me all he wants but no one else!

"Hahaha... Sorry. The name is Butch by the way. How about it? Should I guide you to your destination? I am very familiar with the city layout and I have time."

He offered which was good and convenient... I wasn't going to ask...

"I am looking for the adventurer's association and the city exit, take me there."

I coldly ordered, still with my cold glare. I won't get over being called little! No one calls me little except for my Big Brother, not even Dad!

Butch grinned and clapped his hands, "If that is all then follow me, young lady! I will guide you to your destination"

He exclaimed and started to walk forward, and I followed him. At least I reach faster than Big Brother.

I felt a little uncomfortable walking around, glancing down I was wearing tunic-like clothing and some sort of long loose pants and slippers. Not used to tunic-like clothes and long pants but the slippers were ok I guess... Dont like it, will need to change it as soon as possible.

Butch lead me to a market that was bustling with activities, it was a fruit and vegetable market that looked like it had everything, it was very crowded as well but I still kept 2 meters different from Butch while following him.

"So why are you going to the adventurer's association? Got a quest or something that needs to be done?"

Butch asked as he looked back at me with squinted eyes, a little weird. But again.. he is a servant so it's normal I guess...?

"I am going to register as an adventurer, and get an ID that will allow me to freely enter and exit the city."

I coldly answered this was a new kind of interaction for me, so I talked back but I still didn't like him.

"Aren't you a little too young for that? Dont get me wrong, being an adventurer is cool and all but it ain't worth risking your life, a piece of advice... Blab blab"

I tuned him out in my mind, I don't like it when someone I don't know gives me advice... If Big Brother or Dad knows that person then maybe. Looking around I observed the market, it was interesting and was nothing like what I have seen in BlueVail where everything is so advanced that food supplies are delivered home, I should ask Big Brother to go out with me to do a little shopping... But I don't need anything so... Ugh, will think of this later

"Girl! Are you even listening!?" Butch loudly asked as he stopped and tuned to me.

I paused as well, almost crashed into him but I stopped in 2 steps so that would never happen. I looked in dead in the eyes, feeling a little annoyed,

"I stopped listening when you said 'a piece of advice' you sounded boring."

I plainly stated making Butch scrunch his face but I don't care.

Suddenly

"Aisa. You are headed the wrong way."

Big Brother's voice came, it was indifferent but was also heavy making him immediately turn around. And there he stood, indifferently staring at me
