Headed down the paths according to the instructions the tall guard gave him, he saw the store with a dress painted on the sign.
He opened the door and walked in.
Unlike the other stores, there was no one managing the counter.
"Hello?" Kane called out.
"Huh? Oh a customer?" A voice sounded from the back of the store.
Walking further into the store. Looking for the source of the voice, Kane saw a young woman in the back of the store modifying a dress.
"Hello ma'am. Are you Sally?"
"Yep." She looked him up and down. "Looking for some new threads?"
"It would seem that way."
She smiled "Then what's your budget?"
"I have nine silvers total... how much can I spend here and still afford a meal?"
"Hmm." She closed her eyes.
Thirty second later, she opened her eyes.
"Well for some premade clothes you can spend two silver. I'll adjust them for another silver. But if you want me to make you a custom set it'll cost about five silver. Custom or premade, you should be able to afford a few meals."
Kane put his hand to his chin in a thinking motion.
"For now I think that premade is the best choice. But could I get them adjusted please?"
"Of course. Let's go and take a look at what I have in stock at the moment."
She then led him to some of the clothing racks near the counter.
"You can take a look at this selection, it's where you can find the clothes that only cost two silver."
"Thank you. I'll take a look to find some I like."
Receiving that response, Sally went back to modifying the dress.
"Hmm. I don't need anything particularly durable. I'll probably just take them off while I'm in the forest. Nor do I need anything fancy, since I'll only be using them to go around the village."
Looking at each piece of clothing on the rack, Kane eventually chose a pair of grey pants and a brown shirt.
"That'll do for now." He said, carrying them over to Sally.
"I've chosen."
"Lovely. Now go to the changing room and put them on so I can do the measurements."
Following her instructions, Kane went and put the clothes on before coming out.
"Okay then, hold still and spread your arms."

...
"Come again sometime." Sally called to Kane as he left the shop.
"I will."
Kane stretched.
"That took about two hours. Hmm. What time was it when I got to this world? It's been at least a few hours... I'll try and find out later. But first, food."
He headed to the inn next.
Walking into the inn, Kane immediately saw a young man at the front desk.
"Hello, welcome to the Rusty Scabbard inn. Are you here to stay or to eat?"
"I'm here to eat. Is six silver enough?"
"Of course, a meal here only costs about ten copper coins."
"Copper coins? Is it one hundred copper to a silver?"
"Yes it is. Do you not have any copper coins?"
"No I only have silver."
"Then if you want to buy a meal I suppose we'll have to give you ninety copper. Does that work for you?"
"Of course, one meal please." Kane said, handing the man a silver coin.
"Do you have a pouch to carry the coins?"
Kane shook his head.
"For another five copper I can give you one."
"I'll take it."
Looking to his right, the man grabbed a small pouch and dropped in eighty-five copper coins.
Kane handed him a silver coin.
The man took the coin and handed Kane the bag and a slip of paper with a stamp on it. Watching Kane tie the bag to his waist, the man pointed to a door on his left.
"The paper is a meal ticket. You'll have to give it to them in the dining room. Through there is where meals are served. Currently they're serving a nice stew with lamb and some carrots in it, alongside a piece of bread. I personally recommend dipping the bread in the stew. Makes it that much better."
Nodding at the man and saying his thanks, Kane walked through the door and saw a room full of tables and chairs. On the other side was a doorway that led to what appeared to be the kitchen.
Sitting at the table, an older man walked towards him, grabbed the meal ticket, and asked if he wanted his meal now, to which Kane responded with a simple "Yes please".
After receiving Kane's answer he left the room and came back five minutes later with a bowl of stew and a piece of bread on a plate.
The bread was round and looked fluffy. The stew was a dull brown color and there were pieces of lamb and sliced carrots in it. All in all, to Kane, it didn't look like a horrible meal.
Preparing himself for the possibility of it tasting awful, he grabbed the spoon that was in the bowl and brought a spoonful to his mouth.
"... That's pretty good."
Eating another spoonful, he grabbed the bread and tore off a piece, dipping it in the stew and putting it in his mouth.
"That's really good!"
Eating his meal with great relish, within three minutes, Kane was done eating.
Wiping his mouth, he stood up and left, asking the young man at the front desk to tell the chefs it was delicious.
"Let's see... next thing is... let's test and see if there really is a drop system."
He nodded.
"Yeah I think that should be my next move."
With that, he headed towards the cave.

After getting back to the cave, Kane took off his clothes and coin pouch and put it behind the rock he normally sat on.
"Can't ruin my new clothes."
He then grabbed his flint and a rock and headed towards the forest.
"I didn't expect I would have to grind so soon."
With this thought he began to light Ent after Ent on fire.
<EXP: 7/1000>
<EXP: 8/1000>
<EXP: 9/1000>
<EXP: 10/1000>
<EXP: 11/1000>
<EXP: 12/1000>
<EXP: 13/1000>
<EXP: 14/1000>
An hour later, after killing the eight Ent, a small green ball the size of an orange was left on the floor.
Seeing this, Kane began to grin.
"I don't know if it works like this for everyone, but it seems something like drops exist for me. Although... Hmm. I wonder if the corpse would stay longer if I didn't kill them with fire. Well that's for later. Now I guess I'll go sell this and pay for a room at the inn since it'll start getting dark soon."
With that, he decided to go and get a room at the inn.
He went back to the cave, got dressed, tied his coin pouch around his waist, and began walking to town.
"Maybe I should order some custom clothes too... that would be nice."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...
....
.....
....
By the time Kane got back to town, the sun was beginning to go down.
Greeting the guards at the gate and thanking them again, he walked towards the inn.
"They said the Sally's place is open till late, but maybe I should put the order in tomorrow. Yeah, I'll go sell the core now, get the room, and enjoy some rest."
With that thought in mind, he headed towards the general store.
In the store, the same young woman as earlier was sitting behind the front counter.
Having heard the door open, she turned towards the door.
"Oh it's you again, welcome back. Good to see you got some clothes." She chuckled.
"It's good to be wearing clothes." Kane said with a smile.
"Well then, if you're back, I assume you have something you need to buy or sell, correct?"
"You'd be correct." He said, showing her the Ent Core.
"Another one? Hmm, interesting. Let me see."
He handed her the core.
She looked it over for a minute.
"This one doesn't seem to have any damage. I can give you ten silver."
"Perfect."
She gave him the coins, and he put them into his pouch.
"Pleasure doing business with you." Kane said.
"You too. Come back if you get something to sell, or if you have something to buy."
"I will."
With that, he headed towards the inn
When he walked into the inn, he noticed that a different person was working the front desk. This time it was an old woman.
"Hello, welcome to the Rusty Scabbard inn. Are you here to stay or to eat?"
"Ah, can I pay for both?"
"Of course. Ten copper for a meal, and a room is one silver coin per day."
"I'll have a meal now and I'd like a room for the next two days." He said as he handed her the money. "Is the meal still the stew from earlier?"
"Yes actually. The meal tends to change daily, although it changes from the morning to the rest of the day too. It has changed in the evening as well though." She said as she handed him a key to a room and a meal ticket. "You have room 23. You can head there after your meal." She pointed to the door on her right. "Goin there and take a right, your room should be in that hall."
"Works for me." He said as he walked towards the dining room.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After eating the lamb and carrot stew with the piece of bread, Kane went to his room and closed the door.
In the room was a desk, a chair, a bed, and a candle.
He sat on the bed and then laid back.
*Sigh*
"First day in the new world. Running from place to place is so exhausting. And I Still need to practice more with (Genetic Mutability)."
*Yawn*
"I suppose that can wait." He put out the candle. "Hopefully... when I wake up in the morning... I'm... still... hereee..."
And with that, he fell asleep, ending his first day in this strange new world.
