Fight for the Village

With his quiet mumbling, the sound of horses running slowly stopped. About twenty meters in front of him was a group of thirty men on horses. They wore leather armor that was stained with the color of blood and held an assortment of weapons. At the front of the group was a large man holding a battle axe.

He called out. "People of the village, this day does not need to end in the loss of your lives. Simply hand over your women and your wealth and we can let the rest of you off the hook." He yelled towards the gates

Hearing this statement, the guards showed angered expressions and Kane spat on the ground in front of him.

"Oh? You don't seem to like my offer... Well then. We seem to have no other choice. WE SHALL TAKE YOUR WEALTH AND WOMEN WITH OUR OWN HANDS!!!!" He shouted, prompting loud cheers from the men behind him.

Putting his hand in the air and waving it forward, the group charged ahead of him as he held back.

The guards readied themselves for a fight.

As the horses drew closer, in Kane's head, he had an idea.

Quickly angling his spear and supporting it with his body, the first horse that came to Kane pierced its heart with its momentum, dying and flipping the rider off.

The silver screen appeared.

<EXP: 15/1000>

Kane forced himself to think that it was him or them as he pulled the spear out and pierced the throat of the bandit that had fallen.

<EXP: 17/1000>

"The bandits are worth two?" He mumbled as he quickly glanced at the screen.

Around him, the sounds of battle played as each side traded blows.

One of the other two guards was knocked down by the horses while the other was knocked unconscious by a rider with a blunt weapon. Attempting to break through the defense, the two riders that continued forward were shot in off the horses by the archers. As they fought, guards from other gates came to the south gates to join the fight.

Lindsey arrived before Rylan and quickly slit the throat of a bandit before throwing the body off of the horse and using it for herself.

Kane, rapidly learning how to use a spear skillfully, hit a bandit off his horse with the blunt end before using the momentum to pierce him through the heart on the floor.

<EXP: 19/1000>

"I may not be strong, but calculating ways to use momentum to finish them shouldn't be too hard." He mumbled.

Another guard was stabbed through the stomach, sending him to the floor.

Rylan arrived after another three minutes with Harry.

Harry stood at the gate prepared to fight any bandit that made it to that point. Rylan ran ahead with some of his fellow guards and cut the side of a horse.

Kane watched the battlefield as he looked around, using (Eldritch Brain) to keep track of everything as tools to be used to win.

Taking a large step to his right, he thrusted his spear into the heart of a horse before letting go and watching the dying horse knock down another horse and it's rider.

<EXP: 20/1000>

Grabbing an axe from a rider that had fallen to the floor, he used it to cut off their head before throwing it at a rider that had been knocked off his horse that was running at him. With his calculations, he managed to throw it so that the edge perfectly met the head of the charging bandit, flipping him backwards and killing him.

<EXP: 24/1000>

As Kane looked to his left, he noticed that one of the guards was going to be pierced from through the chest from behind by a spear as he fought a dismounted bandit.

"DUCK!!!" Kane yelled.

Unfortunately, the guard didn't manage to get to the ground in time.

Angered by this scene, Kane sprinted at the bandit the guard was killed by and jumped in the air, throwing a punch at his head. The bandit turned and saw as Kane's fist collided with his head, knocking him off the horse. The horse began to run away, leaving its rider on the floor.

Kane jumped and stomped on the bandits throat, snapping his neck and killing him.

<EXP: 26/1000>

As this happened, the bandit that the guard was originally fighting saw his opportunity and stabbed Kane from behind.

"AHHHH!!" Kane yelled as he pushed himself further against the blade, elbowing the bandit in the jaw before pushing the sword out from his back. Quickly grabbing the sword he stabbed the bandit in the throat.

<EXP: 28/1000>

On another part of the battlefield, Lindsey fought three dismounted bandits at once, parrying a slash from a sword, a swing from a club, and a stab from a spear. In response she slit the throat of one and stabbed another in the chest before striking the last with the blunt end knocking him down. She quickly pierced through his forehead with the spear before moving onto her next opponent.

While these fights are happening on the battlefield, the guards with bows were firing arrows towards the bandits, taking down five and injuring three.

Noticing the archers, the injured bandits made it their goal to go for them. While attempting to get through the gate to target them, Harry made his move and yelled. "PULL!!!"

Him and the other four guards at the gate pulled on either side of a rope they had set up to knock down any horses attempting to pass. Tripped on the rope, the three injured bandits hit the ground and were quickly killed by the surrounding guards.

With only ten bandits remaining and twelve guards still able to fight, the leader of the bandits made his move and pulled out a strange looking statue that looked like a ship wrapped in tentacles, with tentacles hanging out as a handle.

Seeing it, Kane had a look of confusion on his face and looked at the other guards to see their reactions. As he looked over their faces, he saw various expressions of fear. However when he looked at the bandits faces he saw reactions of excitement and fear.

Lifting the statue up above his head and chanting in a language that no one understood, the statue's tentacles seemed to come alive, wrapping around his arm.

"I was hoping I wouldn't have to use this, but you've killed so many of my men. If I were to ignore this and not avenge their deaths, I would be a very, very poor leader. You have forced my hand."

With the hand not holding the statue, he lifted his hand up with a powerful movement.

In response to the movement of his hand, a large tentacle emerged from the ground.

A large grin slowly grew on the face of the bandit leader.

"You took the lives of my men instead of surrendering... NOW BURN FOR YOUR CHOICE!!!"

He swiped his hand.

The tentacle moved, almost mimicking his hand motion, swiping towards the village, hitting guard and bandit alike.

This move didn't kill anyone but heavily injured all of them.

Kane in particular was thrown into the wall of the village, breaking through it and landing in a small pile.

*cough*

Kane coughed out blood.

*groan*

"I think he broke my ribs. Or at least cracked them."

With his regeneration factor, he wouldn't die, but he was in severe agony.

While Kane was down, the bandit leader continued to cause damage with the tentacle he had created with the statue.

After two minutes, Kane was able to get up. Running out through the hole he made in the wall, Kane saw that the battlefield was covered in guards and bandits alike. Unable to determine who was dead and who was alive, he looked and saw that the bandit leader seemed to be consumed with a sort of madness.

"I can't let him keep going wild. How do I put him down?"

Analyzing the battle field, Kane noticed that the longer the bandit leader controlled the statue, the less aware he seemed to be.

"An effect of the statue? Whatever it is, it's a chance for me." He mumbled.

Watching and waiting, after the tentacle hit the ground once more, smashing a guard and bandit, Kane began sprinting towards the leader.

As he did this, he willed his nails to sharpen and elongate.

"I only have this one try. Better make it a good shot."

After running about twenty feet, the bandit leader noticed Kane and controlled the tentacle to swing at him.

"Three." Kane looked at the angle the tentacle swung and began to count to himself.

"Two." The tentacle got closer and closer to Kane as it picked up speed.

"One." The tentacle was almost at Kane.

"Go." Kane jumped positioned his body so that the tentacle would hit his legs.

*CRACK*

As it hit him, Kane heard a cracking sound coming from his legs. Ignoring the pain, Kane pushed off the tentacle, propelling himself at the bandit leader.

Readying himself, Kane stretched his arms out wide.

When he reached the bandit leader, Kane closed his arms on him and continued flying, taking the leader with him.

After ten seconds, they hit the ground with Kane using the bandit leader as cushion.

He quickly sliced the leaders throat with his claws before stabbing him in both eyes to completely confirm the kill.

<EXP: 38/1000>

*panting*

With his legs broken, Kane lay there waiting for his regeneration factor to fix him.

"Does... does this count as the event being completed?"

After ten minutes, he was able to feel and move his legs again.

*sigh*

"No wonder that fucker was worth ten... Maybe the experience I get scales with difficulty."

Standing up with this thought, Kane looked at the statue that the man held.

"What could possibly give him that much fighting power?"

Saying this, Kane reached for the statue and grabbed it.
