Chapter 1: First day at school.

"Get ready girls" Jody shouted, bringing breakfast to the dinning table.

"Yes Mom" Jasime, the youngest child replied as they came out.

"wow Belaine! You look smart in your new school uniform". Jody said and Belaine smiled. She was putting on a black skirt with it's pleating from the waist and it's length, slightly an above the knees. A white Polo shirt and a smoothly ironed red blazers with a black short tie.

"Thanks Mom". She replied, sitting around the table to eat. After taking a few slices of toast, her phone rang. She looked at the caller's ID and smiled, picking up her back pack and glasses .

"Bye Mom" She pecked her quickly.

"But you haven't finished your...". Before Jody could complete her sentence, Belaine was off.

"She's just too excited" She sighed .

"Hey Miguel". She ran to meet him with a hug from behind .

"Wo.. you're putting on my school's uniform and you look..." He became speechless with surprise. She looked beautiful than ever.

"Oh don't be surprise Miguel. Yeah I'll be attending the same school with you now. we'll have a lot of time together especially being your class mate". She said dreamily filled with amusement and happiness.

"What!..Oh"

"Aren't you happy about that Miguel?" She pouted. "Or don't you want me in your school?" She asked naively looking straight into his eyes.

" Oh no Belaine, i didn't mean that. It's just that I'm too surprised and news is too good for me to believe" He said, carrying and rolling her around like a baby. "now Let's go, I'll take you on your first tour." He dragged her around like happy lovers..

She entered the administrative block, admiring Every office and building, until she reached the head's office, her mind came back.

"Good day ma'am" She genuflected several times, smiling cheapishly and the woman only nodded then she began to look around touching every fascinating thing.

"Are you ready Ms. Tylers? Can we proceed with your registration?"

Immediately, she jilted back to earth and adjusted her big glasses properly before sitting down.

"Yes ma'am. I'm ready". She smiled.

The whole class went quiet when the new girl entered then a round of noisy murmur followed. She waved and entered properly.

"Hi I'm Belaine Tylers". She introduced and Miguel looked up shifting fast away from Linda. "This can't be her" He muttered .

She looked very different. Her hair packed in a messy bun with a very big glasses around her eyes that didn't suit her a bit. She was worse than a joker.

She was still smiling when a co student threw an embarrassing question "Are you in this class or did you miss your way" The girl asked.

"No.. Yes, I'm in form 5" She stuttered.

"We know, which arm" Another asked.

"Form 5B I guess" She scratched her hair.

"She doesn't even know her class" The whole class went Gaga, laughing at her. Miguel wanted to run and save her but Linda held him back. "Or do you know her?" She asked him with a scornful look.

"Oh no!". He denied trying to feign a smile.

"Well this ain't Grade 5 B, this is A, the class for the brainy so get lost" The girl shouted.

The embarrassment was much for her to bear, tears began to form in her eyes but she held them looking at Miguel with the hope he will come and save her the embarrassment but he didn't, instead he sat glued to the chair with another lady, so she found her way out of the class with shame and regrets-- her head hunged low.

She walked past many classes looking for 5B. Her first day at school was a disaster. no one seems nice, unlike her former school except for the boy that kept bullying her which made her leave for this school. Unknowingly she bumped into someone and all the content in his hands fell. The pot of flowers went and the little vase broke.

"I'm sorry"She pleaded, praying not to receive another insult again, still trying to pack the books.

"Oh my! You've ruined my project now". The voice said, void of any feeling .

That voice "Oh my you've ruined my project now" kept ringing in her ears but she dare not look up for the fear of being insulted. The voice seems familiar. It was a male's.

"I'll fix it. I'm so sorry" She pleaded again and the guy bent to pick the vase when a tear from her eyes fell on his hands.

"That smell too" She muttered "is also familiar" but she couldn't fathom whom it is. Before she could look at the person, he was gone. She picked one of the flowers he left on the floor, going back home to plant another. She has had enough for a day especially of Miguel.
