Chapter 95 - Gabriella

I open my eyes and see a soft yellow glow from the night light near the bedside table. It must be late in the evening already, judging by the darkness of the rest of our bedroom. I shift in my space, my fingers gliding across the soft silk sheets behind me, searching for the other body that's supposed to be hugging me from behind. Usually, I'd touch him and then he'd instantly move closer, pulling me against his front with his arm around my midsection and his mouth on my neck. However, the other side of the bed is empty.

Lazily checking over my shoulder, I see what I already know, and that's Mariano not in bed. A quick glance in the dark bathroom in the corner tells me that he's not there either. And neither was he in his studio in front of my side of the bed. So where could he be?
