Rolling off of her, I lay on my back and she curls into my side, resting her head on my chest. It's half past six in the morning. We still have little time before we need to get up.
I'm about to tell her my plans today when my phone rings on the nightstand. I turn the phone to check who it is and my brows draw together when I see "Lauretta" on the screen.
I can tell Riri saw the name when her hand turns into a fist on my abs. I cancel the call, sending it to voicemail.
"Why are you ignoring your cousin?" she asks.
"Her voice is too much for me in the morning. I'd rather want some peace to start my day." Besides, her family is dead to me.
"Isn't her father your uncle?"
