Roommate

A few days later, at one of the country's top universities, I stood in front of the institution's entrance with a black sign below that read, 'Polydisciplinary University of King V.' Yes, because my country was a monarchy, and the era of the fifth king, the grandfather of our current king, was when this university was founded, if I'm not mistaken. In any case, it was my first real step into this world, where I would become a legend.

In recent days, I had been practicing the technique that the system had given me, and I felt much better. I felt lighter, and my skin had become smoother, with the small blemishes on my body disappearing. The system had told me that if I had a better physical condition, progress would have been faster and better. Maybe I should start taking sports more seriously... Forget it, I'll think about it later.

I entered the university, and headed to the student service to finalize my registration and get the keys to my dorm room. After leaving the office, the system's notification sounded to inform me that I had completed the mission.

I didn't pay much attention to it because I only had 25 points in total. And from what I had seen in recent days, I couldn't buy anything with so few points. So, I decided to rest and get to know my future roommates.

I had just made my entrance into the dorm room for the first time, and my three roommates were already there, deeply engrossed in an intense video game session. The screens illuminated the room with a blue glow as Jake, Tim, and Matt immersed themselves in their virtual world.

Jake, a computer science student, held his controller firmly, his eyes fixed on the console's screen. He skillfully controlled his character in the game, executing complex movements to outmaneuver his opponents.

Tim, the physics student, sat next to him, his hands flying across his keyboard and computer mouse. His character performed impressive actions, demonstrating his mastery of the game.

Matt, a mathematics student, observed the ongoing game closely, trying to grasp the dynamics of the video game despite his lack of experience in this field.

When I entered, they briefly diverted their attention from the screens to greet me.

Jake was the first to react. "Hey, buddy! You must be the new roommate, right? I'm Jake, and this is Tim and Matt." He briefly introduced the others.

"Hi, I'm Steve," I replied, feeling a bit out of place amidst the video game scene unfolding before me.

Tim gestured for me to approach. "No worries, Steve. We're playing League of Legends. Do you want to join us?"

After unpacking my belongings, I decided to join them. I turned on my computer and took a seat next to them. My fingers were a bit clumsy at first, as it had been years since I had played on a computer. In the future, all games were in virtual reality, but I quickly got the hang of it.

The conversation continued as we played. We discussed our courses, our first impressions of the university, and our experiences with video games. Although I wasn't as skilled as them in the game, they were patient and gave me tips to improve.

It was a relaxing moment after a busy day, and I felt more and more comfortable with my new roommates. Although we had different fields of study, this video game evening marked the beginning of a budding friendship that would define the start of our university life together.
