42 Hina's Marriage

Once we were near home, we saw Grandpa chief standing out of his home, as we waved to him in a hurry

"Lina, come here there is something important to discuss" he called Mom over, they were having a chat but standing with Hina and others who were talking, I could hardly hear what they are talking about, after chatting for a while Mom looked towards me with a serious face,

"Ryu, come here" Mom called me over and I walked towards them, getting on her knees in front of me Mom spoke as she held my hands

"Do you want to perform a tradition of Grandpa Chief's family? You can say no if you are not ready yet" and then she explained killing in a child-friendly manner with concerned eyes, then she asked once again while putting hands on my shoulders,

"So, do you want to perform this ritual? You can say no if you are not ready now" it was obvious she wanted me to say no but my answer was already decided and I nodded while saying

"Yes, mom I want to kill a monster like Grandpa," trying to hide the excitement in my voice and trying to sound childish,

Grandpa chief said while patting me

"Good spirit Ryu, you will kill a monster like Grandpa right"

"Yes" I replied again

Then he presented the cage which was just behind his leg, I was shocked 'Was he waiting for it!!' I thought, then Grandpa chief spoke with a serious expression

"Ryu, the monster is paralyzed, so it won't move. Take this dagger," he said presenting a white curved dagger,

"I got it made along with Hina and Geld's marriage daggers, by the same half-dwarf," he added. I took the dagger and praised it looks

"Cool!" before I realized it, I've spoken that out maybe this was an effect of having a 3-year-old body and brain. The blade was a cool looking white curved dagger,

"Isn't it costly, Chief Uncle? Getting something even half-dwarf made here is a rarity," Mom asked while looking at the dagger with a shine in her eyes.

"Do not worry about the cost. Lina Ryu is like my grandson and we are becoming family too. I cannot have my Grandson's first Kill ritual with a cheap dagger. Do you like it, Ryu?" Grandpa Chief said, to which I nodded my head fast as I feel excited, showing my enthusiasm,

And then looking towards me, he said with a serious voice,

"Slash at its neck in a quickly okay Ryu, I am holding it down" and then pulling out the kokako from the cage he pressed it on the ground holding down its neck,

I took a deep breath and then with a quick motion slashed at the kokako neck, as soon as its neck fell on the ground, blue blood rushed out and wetted my hands. I could feel it inside myself. The skill had come inside me.

I could feel that it was a passive skill I couldn't figure out which type it was, mostly whenever someone gains a skill active or passive they understand the basic Information about them instinctively, but many times it is not enough and they have to get their status checked either at adventurer guild or a church, there is skill paper too which one could use to read their skill.

'I will have to get a skill page' I thought,

"Nicely done, Ryu. Your hands got monster blood on them, it is proof of your first monster kill be proud," hearing him say this pulled me back from my thoughts, and I nodded

Mom was looking at me with a face full of concern

"Chief uncle, was it fine to do it this soon?" she asked Grandpa Chief, who replied with a smile

"It is fine Lina; this was a Unique Variant, so it was a great opportunity and I even did Geld ceremony when he was 4, so it isn't too soon," then petting me he added,

"Ryu, keep this dagger; it is yours now, but for now give it to your mom okay" he handed me over a dagger holder, I put the dagger in it and handed it over to mom

"Here Mom, dagger," I said, and she take it with shining eyes. I wonder why her eyes shine while taking the dagger. After that grandpa chief said,

"Now I need to carry this body to a tent near the church so they can cook it for Marriage dinner, ahh only a few hours are left till event you all should hurry up too. "

And then he left, locking his door. When we turned after seeing him off, we notice that everyone had already gone inside our house,

Once we rushed inside, we noticed Aiena and Snow were already in their formal clothes,

"Taking time, so we came inside," Snow said while rotating once showing her dress and Aiena also rotate once showing her dress,

"Lina big sister, Lana big sister is helping Hina big sister change in their room. I changed with the help of Snow sister. "

"Aiena, snow you both are looking beautiful," Mom said,

"Looking pretty, both of you," I too said,

"Thank you, Ryu" Snow said, and Aiena said

"Ryu will look the best in formals" and with that said I and mom too went to change. After thirty minutes we were done and now we were waiting for Hina at the Dining table.

'Well guess bride takes the most time even in this world' I thought, I was wearing a grey coat over an un-tucked shirt, and Snow was playing with me while waiting for Hina, sometimes I wonder if she sees me as a pet or something,

And after a bit of wait, Hina came downstairs, dressed in a Red-colored gown with a ruby colour pendant on her neck she was looking more elegant than she ever does if it was my last life, this kind of beauty would only appear on the red-carpet Hollywood,

"I look awesome right, I wonder if I can jump in this dress," Hina said as she reached in front of us and tried jumping and this time it wasn't just me,

"Act as you look for once!!!" Mom, Lana and Snow shouted what I was thinking in perfect sync. I was shocked that even Snow shouted, and then everyone began laughing,

We locked our home and get inside the carriage already waiting for us outside, it would be troublesome for Hina to walk to church in this formal dress or something was the reason, Geld gave to us when he told us he will send a carriage at night,

When we reach the church, it was decorated with paper flowers and different types of decorations we made in the morning or those that were bought by Geld, the place was looking beautiful, I am sure if it was my last world people would've been taking selfies here,

Once we reached the entrance, Priestess was waiting for us

"Good evening, everyone, Hina are you feeling prepared? "

"I am more ready than ever!!" Hina answered as soon as Priestess asked and then began blushing herself, even Lana couldn't tease her now seeing her already this red face.

The children from the orphanage came towards us. All of them were dressed in formals as well as the ones we were wearing.

'Grandpa chief is one amazing person. Hope I could spend like him someday,' I thought. Grandpa chief was the one who paid for the clothes of all the children

"Hina, you are looking beautiful, Ryu cute!!" a girl said

"Ryu is looking like a little gentleman!" another girl added, after that, I and Hina played and roamed around Church with other children to enjoy the time till the main events, there were many guests despite us believing there will be fewer guests back then,

I even saw a girl with cat ears and tail if not for Aiena running around holding my hand I would've ended up going to Catgirl person, although there are beastkins in this world only a few ever visited this Village of Zerah, there was a person with small height but having a thick beard, I wonder if he was half-dwarf who made my dagger, there was Adventure Guild master too, I saw him once before when I visited the Adventurer Guild with Snow,

After playing around for an hour or so the time arrived everyone was moving towards the God of Valour statue, Hina and Geld were already standing in front of it facing priestess, I was feeling the atmosphere setting in, Mom came and took me and Aiena to near the stage so we could be part of it properly,

Looking at Hina and Geld together like this, I thought

'They do look like a shoujo manga couple!!!' I even wanted to shout it. Priestess brings out a Holy orb and spoke

"Under the light of Holy orb, do you Hina accept Geld as your Husband?"

"I do," Hina said almost instantly. The moment was so auspicious that everyone's eyes were fixed on them,

"Do you Geld, accept Hina as your wife and in name of God of valour take the oath of protecting and making her happy throughout your life?" I was thinking that Geld would say yes instantly, but he instead slowly turns towards Hina took hold of her hand

"I do," he said, and I was like 'Oh the sugar, am I in a sugary web novel!!?', and then Priestess chant something which made Holy orb emit light,

She was about to say something but was stunned because the light that orb emitted to bless the wedding was getting brighter and brighter.

'sh1t, I totally forget about it, what will happen now!?' I was getting worried but what happened was fairly simple, Priestess smiled as she spoke

"It seems even Goddess of Light is happy with this marriage; God of Valour must be pleased too for this miracle to appear at your marriage!!"

'Nice one!!' I thought, if only all the people where this optimistic world would've become a better place as I wipe the sweat off my small forehead, then Priestess said,

"Exchange the daggers now, in name of God of Valour you will be married the moment you exchanged daggers now", I heard it before from Grandpa chief the marriage way of God of Valour church is one of the simplest ways, some adventurers even get married during quest if they got a priest or priestess in their party by exchanging daggers,

Geld gives a silver-coloured artistic looking dagger to Hina,

And

Hina gives him a black-coloured sharp looking dagger,

Everyone including me started clapping hard, some people were cheering and whistling too, Hina and Geld hugged each other tightly and finally, they were married, I was happy for Hina but I was also a bit sad now home will be a little lonelier, I wonder how it would've felt if Naho married in-front of me in last life,

After the marriage was finished, we all went to the tent near the church. A buffet type of party was arranged inside it. Bards were singing we partied hard with tasty food there was even the kokako I killed earlier, listening to music.

Hina and Geld left earlier than everyone else for obvious purposes, I enjoyed various kinds of tasty food and snacks, talked to Catgirl who gave me pats and called me cute, I didn't even realize when I fall asleep.
