A bright, flickering light pierced through the darkness. Piles of rubble and building materials were momentarily visible each time the light pulsed. A bright tear appeared in midair and seemed to rend a gash in reality itself, revealing a growing, luminescent window that hung in the center of the vast, dark room.

The intensity of the light continued to grow with the size of the tear. Suddenly, as the oval anomaly reached the size of a grown man, the light winked out entirely, leaving an inky-black mass floating in the darkness.

Fun new story about a guy who discovers he has some new powers just as portals containing dangerous enemies start appearing across the globe. Scenarios play out like classic video game or TTRPG dungeons complete with bosses and loot. Story is just getting rolling but I have high hopes for its' continuation. Author took a break but seems to be back in force and writing just where they left off!
