As the birds sang dawn's arrival a young girl in the woods looked on about. She had spotted a beautiful flower and she picked it. With a handful of different species of flowers and colors she sat down near a tree by a river. She twisted and turned these beautiful flower to neatly made flower crowns and bracelets. She looks above her and sees a fruit. Her stomach grumbled rather fiercely. Though being short she attempted to reach for the fruit. She couldn't reach and sighed softly saying. "Seems like I'll have to ask Mister for some bread." Picking up her crowns and bracelets, she rushed out of the forest ,which wasn't dense and easy to travel, towards her village. Many saw the small one run out of the woods as if she was in hurry. The farmer living next to the forest saw her and asked loudly so she could hear. " Opal, what's the rush? Are you late for something?"
" No Sir! I'm just a bit hungry! I'll help you with your animals soon! Promise!"
The farmer chuckled as the little girl ran ahead towards the village center. Passing by the small cozy and only bakery , Opal had opened the door of the small store. "Little lady there you are! I just finished this mornings batch. Would you like some?" said the good looking middle aged man. As Opal was about to speak *Grumbles* it seemed as her stomach spoke for her and she shyly laughed. The baker chuckled and handed her five big loaves. " Would you mind delivering these four loaves to the seamstress, the Pola family and the librarian? Of course the fifth is yours. And two loaves for the family and-" the baker interrupted by Opal saying, " Yes sir, I know. After all I do help with deliveries once a week." The baker sighed softly with a smile. " Thanks little lady I can always count on you!" She waved goodbye to the baker and went off to her deliveries. The seamstress was her first stop. She knocked at the door which was tightly closed. A young woman opened the door and saw Opal with some loaves. " Oh, dearest Opal! How nice to see you so early in the morning! "
" Excuse me, Laurel um it's noon."
Laurel the seamstress shocked by the remark and says, " It's already noon? It seems I been working too hard on these clothes that I had lost track of time!" Silly me!"
"Here! You probably haven't eaten so have this loaf!" Opal handed her a loaf made by the baker.
"Oh! Yes, my loaf! Tell Gibson that I'll pay him soon!"
Opal nods and scurries off to the next delivery. As she walks towards her second destination she also greets the others in her small village. She bumps into a young man whom she had not seen around here. " Hello there mister, is this your first time visiting the Sealers Village?" The young man turned to see a small little girl. Opal had noticed how odd his face was covered in marks and was confused on the darken clothing he was wearing compared to her warm colored dress and clean face.
" Yes. I'm new here but not for long. Now go." Opal seeing the face of the young stranger made her feel sadness and as she took her loaf out and presented it to the fellow. He looked rather shocked and suspicious about the loaf he was being offered.
"What are you doing little girl? Why are you offering me something i never asked for?"
"You look hungry and i could tell you don't seem all that well."Opal points to a small building that has a sign on it."That's where you can get treated for your aches." Opal smiled. The lad was more confused as ever and saw the little girl set the bread wrapped in cloth on his hands which the little girl had grabbed. Opal bows and goes along her day. She finished her deliveries and well with an empty stomach was quite out of breath. Though even if she was starving she decided to go help those she normally did. She had received dinner from the farmer who'd found out about her empty stomach. She came back to her home whom lived with the inn keeper, her Father.
" We have a guest staying."
" Is it the stranger?"
"Oh so you are aware of him. Yes it's him so could you check up on him up stairs? After all, this is an inn."
Opal nods and ascends up the stairs.
