Frozen Sword in a Cultivation World

A mysterious star shot across the sky as piercing laughter stretched across the starry sky. In star that was shot lay a blond boy separated from where he belonged. It was a moment to be remembered and it was recorded in the notes of Remembrance, and as the star left the worlds behind. Note: This is a Record of A Mortal's Journey to Immortality fanfic. The original novel was one of my favorites back in the day. Paired with our boy Yanqing. He needs some Ws Will update whenever I feel like it. First time writing so writing quality is probably not the best. I will also update some of the earlier chapters since the quality isn't as good as later on.

Chapter Twenty-Five: Rebirth

As the massive explosion occurred, the world turned inside out as all colors drained from the world in an instant. Turning the world white and black.

The two perpetrators of the incident were standing in front of something… much greater than they were. Its true size had not been manifested in the shape of the dragon.

The dragon was the only part of [It] that they could comprehend. They could see that it had four legs with a snake-like figure and two horns. Yanqing could identify it as a dragon… but it looked strangely familiar to the Vidyadhara to Yanqing at least.

The landscape he saw was of a world full of life. Beings made of white and black respectively walked around the world that had no true form. It was constantly shifting colors, creating a mesmerizing look. Yet, it was only the eye of the [Dragon].

Xin Che, on the other hand, saw something much… worse. Everything was burning with white and black flames, with the earth shattered and all other elements depleted. A massive void made of black and white stared into him. Its shape was unidentifiable, other than the fact that he could only see its eye.

When you stare into the void–It looks back at you. Histories of both Xin Che and Yanqing flashed before their eyes as their eyes grew dull, before emitting a strange light.

Their bodies changed rapidly, rotating, warping, and destroying itself before recreating it. Yanqing could barely keep his own form before it was soon warping, Xin Che on the other hand was gone already.

Xin Che's body had all colors removed from it, leaving it a mixture of black and white. The white clearly dominated the body, but the black was fighting back to regain control.

Yanqing soon experienced the same as a bizarre sense of comfort came after he was also stripped of all the colors.

No, it would be wrong to say that they were [Stripped] of the colors, but rather the colors themselves changed into black and white. The points of Yin and Yang of each element condensing into Yin and Yang respectively rather than staying as the five elements.

Xin Che's golden core soon took the position in the middle of the ever devouring, ever changing, and developing shape. The colors of red and yellow briefly flashed for a moment before disappearing into the endless shape.

In Yanqing's case, black dominated the white. As they fought over control, a pink light made itself the core, allowing balance between the two forces.

[Taiji] was achieved across both Cultivators.

This was a feat that was not supposed to be possible within this world. Although the Five Elements were composed of Yin and Yang, separation was near impossible unless a higher entity or the Heavenly Dao itself separated it.

This is due to the fact that [Taiji] was endless. The beginning and the end would represent the start of all things and end of all things. It was a being that was not supposed to exist to begin with as they became a [Singularity].

Seeing that their bodies were not able to fully accommodate it, the dragon blinked once before the bodies of the two slowly changed once more. Yet, this time it was much smoother.

The symbols of [Taiji] on the two slowly disappeared as the colors came back. Yet there was now a clear separation of the colors with a darker and lighter tint respectively on each color.

Even if for the briefest moment, the two achieved [Taiji] meaning that they were now the only one that [Existed] of them. Yet this did not affect Yanqing much, as he was the only version of himself left after all.

Yet Yanqing himself did not know that.

All possible timelines clashed for a brief moment before they were straightened into a single line. Branches separating and connecting with one another. The form soon became akin to a tree.

After seeing that its job was done, the dragon turned into black and white, spreading the entire mortal plane before changing back into the five elements. Spiritual Energy began to accelerate and duplicate itself as it had experienced a new revival.

The leftover energy of [Permanence] disappeared once more as its job was done.

The world's origin began to make up for itself. Several cultivators and demonic beasts noticed this change as their eyes flashed in ecstasy once more, as hope was on the horizon for their ascension.

The changes that this would bring upon this world was uncountable, immeasurable, and mostly of all, unknown to all future observers.

The so-called original timeline had been destroyed in its entirety, leaving only the small ripples that the Time and Space Dao Ancestor had left behind, with his remnant spirit being annihilated.

A new world, one filled with endless possibilities was on the horizon as the world entered into its golden age once more. Yet, this did not mean that this was going to be a peaceful one.

The two culprits had experienced a massive boon, but at the same time they now had to deal with the consequences of all their spiritual energy being used as fuel for the process.

Although their roots and physiques remained the same in element, their qualifications began to skyrocket. Elements became more attentive and compatible with them in each second.

This process lasted for an entire year while the whole world was in an uproar. Spiritual energy was now everywhere. Even in the areas that Yanqing had visited before, one could see the overwhelming density.

Beasts began to roar before they started to gain an intelligent glint in their eyes as spiritual energy changed their very bodies and souls. Awakening them.

Mortals were not spared from this either, as their bodies became more attractive and acceptable to spiritual energy as they too began to grow stronger. Higher dimensional manifestations of five colors began appearing, before a thread of fate was cut off from each one of them.

The chances of Spiritual Roots appearing depended on the environment, spiritual energy concentration, and the parents of these individuals.

The ripples were about to reach the areas of the Immortal Realm before the Heavenly Dao stopped it. If these ripples of fate had reached it then the mortal realm would have been obliterated by a certain Dao Ancestor.

Events like these were a rarity in the Heavenly Dao's mind, but this one was the most special of them all as it freed even the Heavenly Dao from fate itself.

The fate of being the same, the fate of devouring its own children, and the fate to never act was now gone.

Intruders also wanted to look into this world, but the Heavenly Dao was able to prevent it with its jurisdiction. Meaning it could now act in full capacity.

Although the Heavenly Dao was supreme in its world, there were still lines of Fate binding it from above, as some of these concepts were above any world and universe they lived in.

Destinies still existed, but the threads of fate would only have a chance of guiding them towards their destinations. Meaning, everyone now had a chance to change.

Everything in the world had a life span, but that was because of the lines of fate binding these lives to the greater attraction of fate brought forwards by [Death]. The end of all things.

By cultivating, one was essentially creating their own [History] and [Power] that could defy this. By cultivating and living one's own life, they were creating their own [Fate] and [Luck].

It was quite nice to see that the children who changed all this received a boon from it as well. Their qualifications were now much greater, although it could not rival the Moon and Sun spiritual roots in terms of speed, they could achieve something beyond it.

Maybe they had a chance of achieving [Wuji].

The Heavenly Dao was only [Taiji] in name only as it stood above the Dao Ancestors. Yet, it could not achieve [Wuji] showing its sheer difficulty despite having everything possible in this world.

It was much weaker than the worlds surrounding it after all. Thanks to the [Tree] that was formed due to the ripples they could now have a chance of escaping the prison that was this place surrounded by monsters of the outside.

Using some of its power, it looked at the weapon of the two before using the remaining Yin and Yang energy in the air into these weapons. Baptizing them once more, and evolving them into something that could truly grow without falling behind.

Normally their spirituality would disappear after the falling of their wielder's realm, only to return when they reached back to their respective stages, this did not happen.

The two blades shook before colors of white and black appeared just like how it appeared on the wielders. Although they did not understand the process that their wielders had gone through, their functions disabled for the briefest moment as it changed fundamentally.

The two idiots that caused this entire ripple soon woke up. With a weakened and baffled look the two looked at one another.

"...What happened?"

"Good question. I don't know."

The two began to feel for their own cultivation… as they soon realized it was gone. Their decades of hard work had gone down the drain…

"..." The silence was extremely loud between the two as a look of pain especially appeared on Xin Che's face. Yanqing regretted that he never learned how to make the technologies of Xianzhou, otherwise he would save this image for the rest of his life.

Unlike Xin Che, Yanqing had only begun cultivating a good 13 years in total and with the life span of a Xianzhou native, it was the same as 2 years for him in a mortal life span of 100 years.

Xin Che had been cultivating for the past 72 years. Even with his previous qualifications of Fire and Earth dual roots, he had to get several opportunities in order to reach it. If he was given a chance to start over, there's a chance he would never be able to reach it once more.

If it wasn't for the fact that Yanqing was around, Xin Che would have started crying already. Tears were welling inside of his eyes as he looked away from Yanqing. He might die before him…

Volume 2, Part 1 End: Untying Oneself from Fate

Note: Going to rewrite. Went back and read some of my stuff and the quality is horrible.

Permanence is only here because of his Xianzhou lineage and interactions with Dan Heng. Might be important later :)

Death is one of the most defining features of mortality, and so is the fate to fall to death. Now everyone has a chance, how will this world change in the rise of opportunity for all!
