135 Issue #15

(So while I knew of Mortal Kombat, I didn't know the actual plot of it. Never too big on the games and didn't really remember the movies. But after a couple of you brought it up, I guess this really is Mortal Kombat of Marvel.)

Gaea teleported the forces of both sides to a mountain in Nidavellir where the second round would be held. In Gaea's opinion, if one wanted to rule the realm, they also had to fight in the realm.

At least that was the reason she told the others. She truly just didn't want them to harm the landscape in Avalon due to their clash in power.

"Send out your next champion!"

The champion of Odin's forces rode in on a white pegasus. In her right hand was a large sword called the Dragonfagn while in her left hand was a spear named Geirr. The woman had blonde hair with silver armor on her body and was none other than the leader of the Valkyrior, Brunnhilde.

Seeing who had come out, the Cabal smirked. Everything was going to plan.

Jack was a powerful telepath so while he was unable to read Odin's mind, he could read the minds of most of the Asgardians without getting caught. He was able to find out who they would send out and in what order. He dove into the minds of each champion in order to find out their weaknesses.

With both of these pieces of knowledge, the Cabal had all they needed to have their chances of victory in each battle be 99 percent. The only way they could lose was if they did not follow the plans they had come up with or the champions had hidden trump cards that even Jack couldn't find out about.

The one that walked onto the battlefield was Doom. Since this was the Realm he wanted, of course, he would be the one to do battle for it.

As he took the field, Doom looked at Brunnhilde like he was looking at an ant. He was one of the few mortals that would dare to look at a good with such contempt.

"Let the second round begin!"

Brunnhilde flew high into the sky on her steed. In his armor, Doom looked like a close-range fighter. The leader of the Valkyrior/Valkyries was planning to use her advantage of flight to distance herself as she planned to wait and tire Doom out.

Seeing her back away, Loki looked at the goddess mockingly.

"And we have just won," Loki gloated to her partners. The duo didn't say anything but nodded in agreement.

Doom began to charge magical energy and chant a spell. When she saw that she had made a mistake, the goddess hurried to try and fix it. Brunnhilde had gotten confused because of Doom's armor. The number one rule of righting a magic user was to not allow them the distance and time to chant.

Brunnhilde threw Geirr in hopes of slaying Doom while he was in the middle of chanting but she was a moment too late. Doom had completed his spell quickly since it was not a complicated one.

Doom had 'Lokied' himself and transformed into a woman. The moment he became a woman, the Geirr stopped mid-air before helplessly falling to the ground.

'How did he know?! I have only confided in the Queen and King about this!'

Brunnhilde looked at the new Doom and knew that her chances of victory had been reduced to zero. Unable to do anything else, the goddess raised her left hand to announce her defeat.

"I surrender."

Brunnhilde was frustrated. If not for Enchantress, she was confident in her victory. Due to a curse from Amora, Brunnhilde was unable to bring any harm to or defend herself from women. She was truly a woman's champion and defender but they were also her weakness at the moment.

And just like with the first match, the second ended with only a single spell being cast on the Cabal's side.

"The second round shall go to Doom and Nidavellir shall be under his rule for the next 100 years! This I decree!"

Seeing that their home had been taken over without even being able to fight back, the Dwarves were filled with rage. Several of them let out battle cries as they raised their weapons and began charging toward the Cabal's army.

But before they could even take 2 steps, countless vines rose up from the ground before digging into the bodies of the Dwarves. Each of the Dwarves that had dared to try and break the rules that Gaea had set up was killed in moments.

But that was not all. The souls of the Dwarves could be seen exiting their mouths before the tip of the vine came out and stabbed into them. The souls were then absorbed into the vines which caused the tips of each vine to bloom into different flowers.

"Let this be a lesson to you all. You all have agreed to let Odin be your representative and he has agreed to the terms. If you dare to try and break the rules that I have established, then the only fate that awaits you is Tartarus."

This instantly caused all the beings on Odin's sides to feel chills down their spines. Being killed was one thing. Being trapped in another pantheon's Hel was an entirely different matter.

Seeing that no one else made a move, Gaea flicked her wrist and teleported both armies to Jotunheim. They appeared outside of Eden and close to the land-island of Krakoa.

"Send out your next champions. The wager shall now be for Jotunheim!"

Jack flew forward and stood in front of Odin's army. He had taken the past few minutes to compose himself. He was prepared for the battle he would have to undertake.

Storm clouds rolled in and a thunderclap (Storm's safeword btw) could be heard. From Odin's army, Thor flew forward and stood in front of Jack.
