Lethal Danger
As he passed by Naomi, his hand landed on her slender shoulder, a meaningful grip as he spoke, "Naomi, Sweeney relies on you."
"Dad, rest assured, I won't let you down," Naomi said.
Just as she finished speaking, her phone suddenly rang. Seeing Joe's call, a slight upward curve appeared on her lips. "I'll take a call."
With that, she briskly walked upstairs with her phone, heading towards her room.
As she answered the call, Joe's voice came through, "Naomi."
"Joe," Naomi called softly.
Joe on the other end initiated a conversation about Naomi's recent closeness with Miss Ford. "It seems like you've been getting close to Miss Ford lately."
Naomi paused for a moment, her expression calm. However, her eyes held indistinct emotions, and her voice remained soft. "Miss Ford and I get along well. Not only does she consider me her goddaughter, but she also promised to support the Sweeney family."
"Joe, to be honest, all of this still feels like a dream to me."
