Daerin could sense that they were all talking about him the moment he entered the dining hall. It was quite obvious since they all hushed down as they saw him. That was inside a separate Villa just beside their hotel resort. They used that as their residence.

Even though it was obvious to him that he was always the topic especially if Graciella is still there. Yes, he thought that Gracella had already gone to the city with Rocco, however, it seemed Rocco had failed to convince her.

If he only knew that Graceilla was still in the resort he probably had to eat inside the restaurant and not in the villa's dining room. Since, he already knew that the topic would be about when he will propose to Graceilla again, as always.

If they only knew that he never even had a plan to date her. He even wondered and asked himself why. He could hook up with other girls and date any girls he met at the bar. Yet, never he plan to date Graciela.

Maybe, because of the thought that she would be his bride one day and he might easily get bored with her by the time, and he just want to take advantage of the moment, he was free. That was if he wound't has another choice and would be forced to marry her. Although he knew that even Graceilla had been waiting long enough for him to ask her for a date.

"You're talking about me and Graceilla again?" Daerin asked as he occupied the seat beside Graceilla. He wasn't fond of beating around the bush and they are used to that attitude. He was always like that every time they talked about that topic.

In fact, they already know what Daerin would say next. 'I am not ready to get married.'

Nevertheless, his parents were as stubborn as him.

"No son, we are talking about you alone." Her mother's firm voice almost made Daerin tremble. Ever since he was a child he was always more scared of his mom than of his dad. His mom is more strict than his dad. No one inside their home could dare to defy her mom.

All the plans and decision was mostly might even hers and his dad was only there to do the physical work so all her plans would get done.

"Me? So does it means it's not about the wedding then," he smiled quite relieved. Whatever it was it must be not as stressful a topic as forcing him to get married. He glanced over at Graceilla to get a bit of a hint. With all those years since meeting her, she had become more a sister to his eyes rather than a potential lover. He trusted her and they were close. Just the idea of marrying her wasn't in his plan.

Graciela seemed also to get what he meant and she shook her head. And, that confirmed to Daerin that he didn't have to worry about whatever the topic was.

"Someone told us that you brought a begar inside the resort and the worst part is you brought her inside the kitchen." His father's voice was authoritative. However, it didn't threaten Daerin and all he just reacted was laugh.

He looked over the server standing beside them. "For sure I know who brought you the news."

"Stop blaming her, it is right for her to do that." His mom's voice went louder than his dad's and they had no choice but to pay full attention to her. She shook her head and continued. "You are risking the hotel's safety and might even risk our hotel's image."

"I agree Daerin a dirty girl inside your kitchen? That's disgusting." Graciela put down her fork and spoon as if she had decided to stop eating.

"Oh come on! She wasn't touching anything. She even barely got inside, she simply stayed at the kitchen door." Daerin massage his head over the disappointment of how his family acted towards the girl. When all he could feel was pity on her.

However, he had to understand them. They were not used to dealing with the low-class community even though he didn't, it was just that he got used to shaking people's hands being a sports celebrity. He had been able to meet different kinds and classes of individuals.

"Who is she son and where did you meet her? Why did you bring her here?" Her mom asked, calmer this time as she was cutting her steak.

"She's just some local who's needing help," Daerin sighed. "Why are we even talking about her? Are you bored enough to talk about such a useless topic?"

But, Daerin wanted to hit himself saying that. Now he was scared that they would be talking about asking Graceilla for married. He had to find some worthy topic in exchange for that.

"And, what should we talk about? Are you ready to propose to Graceilla?" His dad asked.

There he went pushing himself on a pit with asking of changing the topic. He had to pull himself out of it.

"I want to ask you. When are you letting me work here in the resort? I had already got my bachelor's degree and I'm about to graduate this semester with my master's." He sighed with relief at least he found one. It wasn't a bad topic though, he studied to handle their business, and he loved the island so much even more than the city.

"Good thing you asked about that. I am ready to hand this business with you as soon as you and Graceilla get married," his dad said with his head high.

Daerin wanted to slap his face at that moment, but he failed. The topic he set for an escape failed. He even heard Graceilla chuckling.

"Do you think if I married Gracy I can handle the hotel? We are two different people with very different priorities and likes in life. I love to stay here and focus on this business while Graciella loves to travel. I am contented living my whole life on this island while Gracie wants to be everywhere."

"Is that true Graciella?" His dad asked. Something in him that didn't want to believe in Daerin. However, part of his face was also worried about what he heard.

"Yeah, it's true but it's okay for me. We don't need to be around each other anyway. He is free to do what he wants to do as long as I can do what I like too." She simply shrugged and smiled.

"Yeah, I don't think that's a problem. Right Daerin?" His dad asked.

He didn't say another world even though he, for sure didn't agree with that kind of wife. He was a traditional person and a simple one. Nevertheless, at that moment he would prefer to end the topic as soon as possible. So, he simply nodded a bit and secretly roll his eyes.
