Draconic Greed Chp 2

"How about... Alex," I say

("Not Alexander?")

("No, just Alex") I tell him

#ALEX POV#

("I haven't thought of a last name yet but I will think of one later") I tell Ddraig while getting some small propane tanks in order to use a camping stove that I found

I am pretty sure that I have a lot of supplies to last me for a long time

I got canned food and bottled water

That may last me for a couple of months

But, thanks to the Gate Of Babylon, the supplies stay edible for a lot longer, and the more 'wealth' I have the longer they will last

I also got tools, TVs, consoles, computers, furniture, and more from the store

I am pretty sure I am becoming a loot goblin or something

("More like a dragon though") Ddraig interjects

("About that, I am going to be trying to unlock the second form of the Booster Gear. As I want to reach Balance Breaker as soon as possible,") I tell Ddraig

("I think you should hold back on that and let it happen naturally,") He responds

(Why?) I ask curiously

("You should clear all of the zombies of this town and practice your dragon shouts. As they don't seem to take in any stamina") He says and I agree as I used the 'Storm Call' shout and felt fine

I even used the whirlwind sprint shout and aside from some nausea that went away after a minute due to moving that fast, I was still fine

Being able to use dragon shouts without stamina or magicka is a very nice benefit

I can even increase the potency of my shouts using Magicka although, doing this does tire me out

I did try Chakra a bit and used whatever I had to enhance my vision in an attempt to see in the dark better

I was so wrong in thinking that it would be ok to use such a small amount for a short testing period

Barely 5 seconds and I had already used about 83% of my Chakra according to Ddraig

It takes me even longer to recover it

It's been an hour since then I have only regained around 10% although, I wasn't resting so I might get it all back after I go to sleep

("I am going to look for some generators") I tell Ddraig as I go look for some

It doesn't take me too long to find them

I grab them all

Some are even solar-powered although they are pretty big

("Do you know how to use them?")Asked Ddraig

("Nope, but I am pretty sure they come with instructions") I answer him and I prepare to leave as I have been here for a few hours already

Its nearly night

On my way back, I remember the water filtration system that my grandpa had installed

Thankfully, I know that we have containers for water in the storage shed

I soon reached my home and planned to loot the other houses tomorrow

#TIMESKIP 3 MONTHS LATER#

("There that should be it for now,") I tell Ddraig as I finish barricading my house

Specifically the windows

("You should probably try to unlock the true form of the Boosted Gear. As you have already memorized all the information from the three spell books that you had and your training with Chakra has stalled,") He commented and I sigh at my lack of any actual progress aside from the Thu'um

I have used the Thu'um multiple times and each one has proven rather frustrating

I have tried nearly all of the dragon shouts even the ones not usable by the player in-game

I can even use the four-word shout that Miraak uses

Even though there are no dragons for me to kill with it

Ddraig was very grateful to be dead and me not using it against him as even though he is in the Boosted Gear, he could feel its power

But, he is not actually affected by it

Thankfully

If nothing else just incredibly apprehensive about it

I did try to use the resurrection shout used by Alduin but it doesn't affect him either

I think I need the original body of the dragon I want to resurrect or at least its skeleton

Using the Thu'um was easy as can be

Whenever I shout and don't put any Magicka in the shouts, they are only around, I would say 20 to 25 percent of what was shown in the game with actual physics, I guess I could say

I can shout houses apart using normal shouts

When I put some Magicka in them

That's when shit gets real

I destroyed an entire street and severely damaged the houses on that street

I ripped out street lights from the ground and sent them flying

Even trees were sent flying

The street had huge pieces missing and they landed away from the town

As well as causing a small earthquake once they fell down

I kinda stopped using the shouts that have such an effect for a bit

That was just the Unrelenting Force shout

I have been using them sparingly

The one I have been using the most is Aura Whisper shout to clear out any zombies around town

It was weird seeing them through walls but, I am always able to keep track of them

Most of the zombies that were out in the sun have stopped walking altogether as they can't keep themselves sustained anymore

The ones inside the houses were still able to move, I still had no trouble with them

My three spells were the only reason, I am still alive

They gave me something to do and improve upon as well as focus

I go towards the solar generator and turn it on

The electricity shut off a few days after I looted Walmart

I went to every single gas station I could find and looted them

I make sure the lights are working properly

I grab a few cans of food from the gate and set them up on a propane stove

I open them and begin placing them in pots and begin cooking them

("Honestly, I am rather surprised by this...Spam meat") Comments Ddraig

("For sure, I have no idea how to actually hunt or skin animals and I have to rely on videos on how to skin different animals,") I tell him as I think back to when I began to download videos on a few tablets on many different subjects

Such as languages, cooking, survival guides, and maps of points of interest

I made sure to get a few ebooks on edible plants as well as how to grow my own food

Which I haven't really begun yet

I move the meat and vegetables around so they cook properly

I tried to see if the Gate can cook them for me but I don't think it is capable yet

I may need more valuables in order to empower it more

The way the Gate works is pretty straightforward

I put something in depending on what it is, and what its made from, the Gate draws from the concept of wealth equals power quite literally

Magical artifacts or similar stuff to it will empower it even more

However, stuff like material possessions with exceptions will not do much even with the huge quantities of stuff I have put in the Gate, things like cars, stoves, fridges, literally, everything including toilets barely help make me stronger

Thankfully, stuff like gold, silver, and platinum helps it out somewhat as I can get some jewelry made from these materials, therefore, providing more power for me

In fact, according to Ddraig even after putting all of that in the Gate the True Dragon Sword still gives me more power than anything else I have

The sad thing is, I am scared of using the power of the True Dragon Sword as its power is said to unbalance the entire world

I want to get stronger and more skilled before I start using its true power

I can make due with the Bound Sword and the Dragon Sword without the Eye of the Dragon for now

I did read that the Gate can repair and even maintain items provided it has the tools how to do it

I don't think it can for now

As I said I need valuables

I turn off the stove and get ready to eat

("Partner,") Ddraig calls out

("Yes?")

("Something your brother mentioned about the situation in this world. Are you sure that you are truly alone here?") He asked and I narrowed my eyes

("Now that you mention it, I am sure I am alone on the planet, but I just don't know if I am alone in this universe,") I answer him as this is a real possibility

("A planet like Earth with all of the sentient species gone must be one ripe for the taking") I tell him

("If aliens come here what will we do?") He asks

("I don't know,") I answer him honestly

Aliens have always been debated to exist

Most scientists used to say that with how big the universe really and how little humanity has explored it, they were sure that there must be other intelligent species out there in the universe

I have no idea if I will be able to protect this planet by myself...

("Partner, if you are the only sentient being alive and well, with a body. Doesn't that mean that you own the planet now,") Comments Ddraig and while I deadpanned at the glowing circle in the back of my left hand

That might actually be true

I may actually own Earth

That's nice

#TIMESKIP 2 MONTHS LATER#

("It's cold,") I tell Ddraig as I am moving some snow from my house

I finished setting up some walls around my house

("It is strange, that out of everyone that could have gotten a boost in power by giving up one of their limbs or even hearts, you chose the bones in your ears,") He says while I get rather frustrated with him

I wanted to develop my Chakra system without interference but at this point, I am debating on turning other parts of my body into that of a dragon just to speed things up

I have barely even made progress with Chakra these past 2 months

("At the rate, I am going, I might as well") I tell Ddraig as I want to get stronger so I can leave this area and go somewhere else to loot

I am pretty sure I have enough canned food in the Gate to last me for decades although it may expire before I go through with it

("What else should I turn into one of a dragon?") He asks and I bring out a tablet with ebooks on human anatomy

("Muscles, let's leave that alone for now, skin maybe later, wait, how about the Fibula of both legs,") I tell him

("That could work, and it will help you become a dragon much faster, I suggest you go inside and lay down while I work") He says and I agree

I go inside and make sure the heater is still running

I lay down in my room after eating my fill and get ready for it

("Ready?") He asks

("Rea...") I begin before I feel like someone gave me a shot in the legs

"Oooooowwww, still not used to pain," It wasn't really that bad just unexpected

A warm feeling goes from my legs to the rest of my body for a few minutes before that feeling goes away

"I don't feel too different," I comment out loud

("Give it time, I am turning parts of your body into those of a dragon and then letting the draconic energy generated by them do the rest and let it happen naturally,") He said and I sigh as I hoped that turning more parts of my body into those of a dragon would be enough for now

("Right now, just focus on finding more valuables on the other houses. Also, remember that you have maps with locations of interest to you,") He reminded me and I nearly facepalm as I had been so focused on making sure my house was not easy for Zombies to get through

I printed maps to locations like gas stations, and gun stores

I know guns might get redundant and otherwise useless when I get stronger but, having them may save some Magicka when I go to one of the big cities to get more stuff

("Partner, I think I have an idea on what part of your body to turn into a dragon,") Says Ddraig

("Which?") I ask him

("The bones in your forearm") He answers and I pause at that

While it would definitely accelerate the rate at which I am going to turn into a dragon even faster

I am not seeing other options

Dragon Shouts are powerful if a bit awkward to use in a fight but otherwise are my most powerful tools even if I barely know anything about them, the three magic spells that I know are hardly truly worth anything compared to most of the stuff in the Elder Scrolls

Chakra is near impossible for me to practice with especially since I have so little of the stuff

Reaching Balance Breaker is possibly my only shot at getting stronger for now

I could just ask Ddraig to turn my heart into one of a dragon and get a huge boost in power but I don't want that just yet

I sigh as I know what I am going to do

("Ddraig, I am going to go loot a gold reserve,") I tell him to get the map that has multiple gold reserve locations marked

("You are going to be rather busy aren't you") He says as he knows that I was going to do this anyway

I need to power up the Gate as much as possible to be able to use it to its fullest

"I should probably wait until winter ends," I say to myself while using Chakra to enhance my muscles and in a second I pretty much pass out from exhaustion

#4 MONTHS LATER#

"Fucking finally," I say looking at the giant locked door in front of me

4 months of waiting for training in everything that I could and 2 weeks of driving over here for this one building

During those 4 months I achieved the true form of the Boosted Gear

My body is a lot stronger now

I bring out the Boosted Gear

#BOOST#BOOST#BOOST#BOOST#

I boost myself four times since that is the absolute limit of what I can handle right now

MUL QAH DIIV

I use the Dragon Aspect shout and grab the door and grip with all my strength

My fingers sink in but they just rip out pieces of the doors that I was gripping

"DAMMIT," I yell

"Alright then," I say while raising my left arm

("You are not going to do that here right?") Asks Ddraig

I deadpanned at the Boosted Gear

I pinch my nose

("Ddraig, what have I been practicing?") I ask him

("Oh, that") He answers and I roll my eyes

A laser literally comes out of the Boosted Gear and begins to melt the giant metal door

This is something that I thought of creating and it is draining me rapidly but thankfully the doot is melted rather fast and I stop before it drains me completely

The Dragon Shot that its users used before can be concentrated into a beam of energy to make the Dragon Laser

I bring out a few water bottles and drink them all

I see the entrance I made is a bit bigger than I am and I go through and see my prize

Gold

("Ddraig tell me how much each one increases my power") I tell him and he agrees

I grab one gold bar and place it in the Gate

("Wow, it actually increased your power by a very small amount at least 1/2,500 of the True Dragon Sword and considering how much is in here,") He says and I smile as I get the another one

Soon, I just start taking every gold bar in this place

It must have taken me around 3 hours to get every single bar of gold into the Gate

("How much,") I ask him

("Around 8%") He answers and I can tell that he is actually quite jealous

("Not bad") I say that 8% boost is incredible for me right now

Especially since it counts for everything

("I have at least 2 more places like these that I have on the map let's go") I say before I stop

("After a nap")
