He smirked, his eyes narrowing as if trying to gauge if she was hiding something. "These packages always get there... if they pass inspection." He turned his attention back to the package, now being scanned by a series of devices that checked for any prohibited items.
JJ shifted her weight, glancing around the room as she waited. "So, how many packages have you processed today?" she asked, trying to break the silence.
The officer shrugged. "Too many to count. Sponsors are getting more desperate, and more creative. These kids out there—they don't stand a chance without the right support." He crossed his arms, leaning back against the wall. "Though, I haven't seen a demon survive this long in a while."
JJ frowned slightly. "Is it unusual for demons to last this long?"
