16 Sun Zhan I
Finally, the match between Ye Qin's trio and one of the six, He Ru's trio begins. As they are called up, all six of them face off against each other.
"Round 1 of the quarterfinal match of the group battles begin!" the referee exclaimed.
Soon enough, all six called upon their partners as six flashes of light illuminates the arena.

"Even though this isn't my first time seeing them, insect types are kinda…." Ye Qin thought.
Immediately as the match began, the Toxin Mantis spat out toxin on the ground whilst the Shining Pill Bug rolled through it and coated itself in the toxins as it made way towards the Blackgold Python Tiger.
Though it couldn't fly, the Pillbug is able to bounce as it rolled making it able to reach even those that are flying within a certain distance.
Roar!
The Blackgold Python Tiger roared as purple mist begins to cover its body along with the Golden Koi and hid their presence entirely as the Shining Pill Bug phases through them.
Woosh! Woosh!
The Toxin Mantis flies in as it spits toxins into the mist endlessly even if it didn't hit anything. As this happened, the slightly green Flying Panda owned by He Ru fired a ball of wind energy blowing away the mist.
Ye Qin's Golden Koi took advantage of this and headbutt the Shining Pillbug making it fly into the Toxin Mantis knocking them both back whilst Tang Yaling's Phantasm Peacock fired and an endless barrage of feathers at the Flying Panda.
The Blackgold Python Tiger which was now revealed took flight as it flew around the Flying Panda and knocked it out of the air.
Bang!
As it came crashing down towards the floor, the Golden Koi sent a headbutt at it making it fly towards the Phantasm Peacock which didn't stop its torrent of feathers.
Roar! Roar!
The Flying Panda took the feathers head-on as it began spinning into the air and blocked the feathers with its wings making it vulnerable for more headbutts. However, Ye Qin didn't take advantage of this and directly sent a beam of golden energy at the Toxin Mantis and Shining Pillbug.
Explodes!
The two insects took critical damage making them almost unable to battle any longer as they slowly tried to attack the Phantasm Peacock that was occupied with the Flying Panda. The Blackgold Python Tiger then shot out beams of ice onto the field and froze the two insects along with the ground making it a battle of flight.
After taking out the two insects, the tiger jumped up and hacked at the Panda's wings only for the wings to suddenly expand and explode with powerful wind energy knocking it down onto the ground.
Roar!
Ye Qin's Golden Koi didn't move as it watched the battle between He Ru, Wang Tao who is still holding back, and Tang Yaling who has only used one move.
Roar!
The Blackgold Python Tiger grew tired as it took flight once again and transformed into its true form before lunging its tail towards the Flying Panda and wrapped its entire body up before flinging down into the ground.
Awhaoo!
"Whao!!! The tiger became bigger!" someone exclaimed.
"Quickly get that kid now!" a recruiter remarked out loud.
"Hmm did I overestimate him? Or did I underestimate my own team?" Ye Qin thought as he watched the battle continue to unfold before his very eyes.
Suddenly, the Flying Panda picked itself up as its entire body began to glow green while an enormous amount of wind energy gathered inside the core of its body.
"Fatty stop it from exploding!" Ye Qin said loudly.
"Go!" Wang Tao nodded as the Blackgold Python Tiger shot out both energies of Gold and Ice element.
Bang!
As the three energies explode at the same time, a large cloud of dust fills the entire stage making everyone cover their face with their sleeves.
After the smoke cleared out there was a sight to behold. The Flying Panda had exploded the energy within its very being causing damage to even the Toxin Mantis and Shining Pillbug! As for the Blackgold Python Tiger, the Phantasm Peacock, and the Golden Koi, each had some scratches on their bodies while the opposing side was critically injured.
The referee then stopped the match and exclaimed "Winner of the Round 1 Match, Qigong Academy of Jiangnan!"
"That was nice! That blast at the end was powerful!" someone shouted.
"What, you think that was amazing? Didn't you see that tiger shoot out both Ice and Gold energy at the same time?" another student replied.
"A match truly worthy of being the quarterfinals!" a government worker said into a speaker as he clapped his hands.
After winning the match, Ye Qin's trio returned to watch. As he made his way to the stand, Sun Zan's team was called up to fight. Walking by each other, Sun Zan said quietly to Ye Qin "See you in the finals."
"..."
Ye Qin ignored Sun Zan they continued to walk by each other before reaching their seats to be congratulated by Mo Qiu. "Good work everyone." she said.
"Thanks!" Wang Tao replied for them.
"Watch the match fatty." Ye Qin turned around to say as they all focused on the upcoming battle in front of them.
"Round 2 Quarterfinal match between Qingzhou Academy led by Sun Zan and Tianjing Academy led by Gao Xun begins!" the referee said into his mic as the students standing there waiting for him to announce that.
Woosh!
In front of Sun Zan, a blazing red light flooded the space in front of him as a large fiery ape standing over three meters tall with rock-like armor throughout its body, started banging its chest and roared.
Roar!

Though his teammates didn't have anything too special it's still quite rare to have a lightning element monster which is why it is categorized as an Uncommon grade even though its species was numerous.
Just by looking at the Molten Ape's grade and level, Ye Qin could tell that the difference between Sun Zan and He Ru who was Ye Qin's opponent is as great as heaven and earth. Though they are both the same level, the difference in strength and difficulty in leveling only makes the difference that much greater.

In front of Gao Xun, a deep blue flash of light illuminates him as a pale blue dolphin-like monster cries whilst spraying water from the blowhole on its head.

After every monster was summoned to the field, the battle between Sun Zan and Gao Xun officially begun. Making the first move, the Blitz Cat became a bolt of lightning and flashed by the side of the Molten Ape as it headed towards the Deep Blue Cat.
Bzz! Bzz!
The Blitz Cat made contact as it zapped the Deep Blue Cat as the two cats had a battle of species while the Oakwood Hound created an endless forest of vines before enacting itself into the field as it stood tall like a mountain...
Woosh!
The vines created by the Oakwood Hound grew in size and length as it flew towards the Deep Blue Hound and entangled it whilst separating it from Sun Zan and Gao Xun's battle.
Roar!
The Molten Ape pounded its chest fiercely as it slams the ground creating pillars of flame that reached for the Flooding Dolphin that surrounded itself in a barrier of water made of its own elemental energy.
Pow! Pow!
The pillars of flames hit the surface of the water and instantly evaporates as it fails to penetrate the defense of the Dolphin.
Pssh! Pssh!
The Flooding Dolphin returned an attack to the Molten Ape as it sprayed a thin but powerful tsunami of water at the ape's thick earthen armor.
Roar!
The Molten Ape took the attack head-on as the deep cracks within its earthen armor glows a blazing red and vaporizes the water turning it into steam. Seeing that the attack didn't work, the Flooding Dolphin changed the shape of its water barrier making it closely outline the light blue body of the dolphin giving it an appearance that resembled armor as it slowly became darker in color as well as thicker.
After creating an aura of water that was thick enough, the Flooding Dolphin started flying around in a circle as trails of water leaked and flowed from its thin tail.
Flows!
The trails of water quickly turned into tiny razor-sharp spikes that flew towards the Molten Ape whilst the Flooding Dolphin itself darted towards the ape just like when the Blitz Cat became a bolt of lightning.
The Molten Ape slams its fists into the ground as a thick slab of earth shields itself from the spikes of water while the Flooding Dolphin penetrated through the wall of earth and slammed itself into the chest of the ape.
Roar!
The Molten Ape took some damage as it roared before heating itself up and slowly grabbed the body of the Flooding Dolphin and started burning away at its flesh.
Shri! Shri!
The two monsters' attacks continued to a standstill before the Flooding Dolphin gave in and released itself from the grasp of the Molten Ape and swung its tail at the ape's head with a layer of water element.
Pow!
The Molten Ape's thick armor protected it from the attack and mitigated the damage taken from the attack as it reached out for the dolphin's body only for it to miss completely.
Roar!
Shri! Shri!
The Flooding Dolphin turned its body into a torpedo of water that could cut through steel like butter as it began to move at its greatest speed and slowly chip away at the thick armor of the Molten Ape.
Roar! Roar!
Growing tired of the same move, the Molten Ape's tail glows a fiery red as it perfectly timed out the specific location of the dolphin when it reached its back and then lashed out its tail that whacked away the Flooding Dolphin. Its attacks didn't end there as the Molten Ape grabs it once again with its burning tail and shifts the dolphin tangled in its tail in front of it as its hands continue to burn brightly.
"Looks like that's it for Gao Xun." Ye Qin said.
"Yup the next attack will end it." Wang Tao replied.
Back to the arena, Sun Zan's ape swung its right arm forward as it punched the Flooding Dolphin's body before swinging its other arm at it and repeating the cycle at great speeds.
Pow! Pow!Pow! Pow!
The endless barrage of punches tormented the Flooding Dolphin as it wailed and cried out. Suddenly, the Deep Blue Cat and Hound that was preoccupied with the other monsters changed their target and sent their most powerful attack at the Molten Ape.
