Fiery Assassin

I began to explain to everyone what we were going to be doing for the day. "We have a few hundred pieces of meat which should last us for all of today and into tomorrow. I want half of us to gather materials the whole day in preparation for our expansion. We almost have enough, but I want enough for an extra few walls on the inside to make our own individual rooms.

The second group will head back over to the cave and try to get some more of those red mushrooms. They should have regrown since we demolished our structures. There may be another group that started to build in there, so I want combat oriented individuals.

I want Font and Zint to stay while Twon and Isot will follow me. It is a four hour round trip, so be prepared.

I turned to my three soul slaves. "I want you all to gather wood, fiber, stick, stone, and metal. When you find raw metal, make sure you cook it in the furnace, so it is ready to use by the time that I am back."

They bowed and spoke simultaneously. "Yessir!"

After readying ourselves, we traveled down the cliff and through the jungle. We heard the occasional distant roar, but we never encountered anything directly.

That was a different story once we reached the cave. There was a wood foundation and doorway blocking the entrance. I whispered softly to the two. "We are going to stay here in the treeline and wait for them to get out of the cave. We will see how many there are and what equipment they have before attacking."

We waited like that for eight minutes. As we waited, I felt something cold on the back of my neck and then I heard a feminine whisper right by ear. "Tell your men to stand down, or you will all die."

I did not panic, instead I listened to her. "There is someone behind us, stand down."

I heard the voice louder this time. Loud enough for all of us to hear. "Put your weapons in your inventory."

I complied, as did the others. I heard the soft voice again. "Now, turn around."

There was nothing there. I stared for a moment, and then she appeared from nothing. "I have a magic skill. You would all do good not to move, or I will disappear again and kill you all. Now, who are you and why are you here?"

She had makeshift clothes on, red hair, a ridiculously muscled body, blue eyes, and looked extremely hot. I sniffed as I looked into her eyes. "I'm Seti, and these are my tribemates, Twon and Isot. We just wanted to get some red mushrooms that we found in this cave before. Since there was a base, we were going to rob the occupants and make them join our tribe."

She nodded. "Of what governance is your tribe?"

"Monarchy."

She raised an eyebrow. "If you dissolve your tribe and join the one that I am about to make, I will let you all live. I was a solo player to this point."

I shrugged. "Why don't you join us?"

"I don't want to serve someone who is weaker than me."

I smiled. "And if I'm not?"

"You would never have let me come up behind you."

I frowned as I let mana flow to every part of my body. She would be a good fit for my tribe. I just needed to be careful as I fought her.

I burst forward super enhanced by the mana and I hit her knife with my fist. It shattered into oblivion. Her face was shocked for a moment and then she disappeared. I brought my fist towards where she had just disappeared. It connected to flesh and bones.

A small sapling was ripped in half where her body had passed through. A moment passed and she became visible, like a ragdoll on the ground.

The whole day would have played out very differently if she had decided to kill us instead of asking us questions. I may have died in that scenario, I just needed to be more cautious.

I walked up to her body and checked her pulse. She had one. I took fibers from some of the others and I tied her up. We waited by her unconscious body for her to wake up. It only took about ten minutes for her to wake up.

As her eyes flicked open, I rested my own combat knife on her neck. "So, who is stronger?"

She slowly gathered her bearings and then used her core and feet to push herself up to a sitting position.

"You are, but I could have killed you in the beginning."

"So, I'll give you a choice then, join me or die. It sounds familiar honestly."

She laughed. "Alright, send the invite"

I did, and she joined. Four glowing green numbers appeared over her head

2505.

I smiled at her. "I like to give members names so that we can address each other by names instead of numbers because we are all humans and not mere subjects. I take one letter from each number, which I choose, and I bring them all together. You shall be named Tizi."

She nodded. "Thanks, I think that is a good idea. My question to you is what tier skill did you get?"

I grinned. "An ascendant one."

Her eyes widened and her lips curled into a scowl. "Fucking lucky bastard."

I shrugged. "You're more than half right. I like to fuck hot chicks like you, and I've been told I'm lucky as hell."

She laughed boisterously. "You're funny."

I started to walk away. "Yes I am. Now let's go inside your base and take everything back to our base. We will demolish all the structures and salvage resources. Someone else may build here and that is not a bad thing. We do need those red mushrooms if you have any."

She strode up beside me. "There are about forty in one of my chests."

I nodded. "Good."

It took us half an hour to destroy everything and then four to get back to the base. By the time we got home, it was starting to get dark.
