First and Last Friend of Someone (Chapter-02)

 When a hunt comes across a predator, the hunt's instincts tell it to run away or hide. But what if there is no place to run away or hide? Hunt accepts its fate and doesn't move like it is frozen. Humans or other species are nothing different at all. A predator is always a predator. No matter what it is.

They both went out of the house. And the first thing they saw was the bodies of Y and B on the ground. Then a big step came from their right side. It was an Ogre that was 3 meters, with one of its eyes blind, and carrying a big stick which had some blood on the stick's tip. They both were frozen in front of the Ogre.

Hennen was feeling a lot of emotion at the same time. Fear, sadness, urge to take revenge, feeling weak... All of them were mixed. Then she didn't think that much and drew her bow and arrow, aiming Ogre's head. 

Arthur was still feeling pain from the injury to his arm. But his adrenaline started to kick in. The pain he felt and the surroundings were slowly fading. 

''What can I do?'' Arthur yelled to Hennen even if they both were feeling so much fear. But Hennen didn't replay him. She was focused so much.

Ogre heard them after Arthur yelled and started to walk towards them while breathing with bloodlust. 

Ogre's steps were shaking the ground and Hennen's aim was breaking little by little with every step.

Ogre was getting closer. The distance between Ogre and Hennen was Ogre's 4-5 steps long. 

Hennen shot his arrow to Ogre's head. The arrow was going fast but it wasn't fast enough. 

The arrow didn't stab Ogre's head. It just made Ogre angrier. 

Hennen couldn't draw the second arrow because of fear. 

''Hennen!'' Arthur yelled to Hennen.

Ogre was in front of them now. Ogre lifted its stick and swung to Hennen and Arthur. 

Arthur pushed away Hennen and dodged the attack with millimeters by jumping back. Hennen's shock was broken after Arthur pushed him away. 

She drew 3 arrows at the same time and shot them to Ogre's head. But again they didn't stab Ogre's head. 

''Arthur, you should run! I'll distract it!'' Hennen got up from the ground and she started shouting to

Ogre. Ogre's attention turned to Hennen. 

Hennen kept shooting arrows to hold Ogre's attention on her. 

Arthur was saved again. But he didn't want to run. Especially when he can do something. 

''What can I do? What can I do?!'' he said to himself while thinking. 

Then, he remembered the 'system'.

''System!'' he said. 

The blue translucent window appeared again. 

[User: Arthur Blade]

[Willpower: 5 (it's low because the person lost someone who cared so much. The candidate can recover it by experiencing what will make the candidate feel good. Even if a candidate can't do something the candidate loves willpower will recover to its normal state over time.)]

The only thing that changed was willpower. 

He looked to the window and saw the 'Eye of the Truth and Information' skill.

''How do I use it?..'' he said. Then a big impact sound came to his ears. 

He looked around but couldn't see Hennen or Ogre. So he started running to the way that sound came from.

He ran towards a bush and passed through it. He saw Hennen and Ogre. Hennen was bleeding from her head badly and was holding her left arm.

Arthur didn't think much any longer.

''God's Eye!'' he said. And a different blue window appeared in front of him. 

[Congrats! You used one of your skills for the first time. Because of that, you received 100 EP (experience points)]

Then one more.

[Level up! You received 10 stat points! You can use them however you want.]

It felt like time was slowed down for Arthur when the windows appeared. He immediately increased his agility to 9 and his strength to 10. 

After the changes in his stats, he felt like a bird. He felt so light. 

He was seeing information about Ogre. He took a glance at the information window and found the section about weaknesses.

[Stats:]

[Age/Gender: Unknown/Male]

[Strength: 15 (+3)]

[Mana: 1]

[Agility: 6]

[Intelligance: 4]

[Willpower: 5]

[Weaknesses: An Ogre's neck and back are its weaknesses. And using anything sh-]

[That's all the information you can see due to a lack of knowledge about Ogres.]

Then he snapped back to reality. His confidence was increased. 

''Hey! You giant green thing!'' he yelled. 

Ogre's attention turned to Arthur now. 

Hennen heard Arthur's voice.

''No... Why?.. (she fell to her knees and her bow dropped from her hand.) Why did you come back?..'' she whispered to herself with a sad expression. 

Ogre ran towards Arthur with its all might and swung its stick from right to left.

Arthur dodged the attack by running towards the Ogre before Ogre's swing. He passed through the

Ogre and came next to Hennen. He used the 'God's Eye' on Hennen too.

His stats were low than Hennen so he copied all of her skills to do something.

He clicked immediately.

[Hunter's eyes (beginner): It increases the limit of your vision length and you can see things more clearly. (click to see its secret effect).]

He clicked again.

[Hunter's eyes (secret effect/beginner): There is a low chance of making the user feel like they are in the golden hour. Golden hour is a part of a time when the user's senses get 10 times more sensitive, it feels like everything is slowing down and the user feels like he or she can do anything. This skill lasts for 10 seconds and if you try to use more it will consume 100 mana per second.] 

''Ah! It's so much information.'' he said and he said 'system' again from within and all the windows closed.

He turned and looked to Hennen.

''Are you okay? Can you get up?'' Arthur said with an anxious tone.

He tried to move her a little but she screamed because of pain. 

''A-as you can see...'' she said even while trying to smile even if she was in so much pain.

She grabbed her bow with her not-injured hand and extended it to Arthur.

''Arthur... There is no chance of winning anymore. I'll distract the Ogre until my last breath so you can run away.'' she said and pushed him a little.

''Now go.'' she said.

The Ogre was getting closer to them again. The Ogre lifted its big stick into the air once more. It was ready to swing the stick at them and kill them in one move.

''No.'' Arthur said and took two arrows from Hennen's arrow bag and aimed Hennen's bow to the

Ogre's blind eye and shot one of the arrows without hesitation. 

The Ogre held its eye in pain. The stick fell the Ogre's behind.

''We will get out of this situation together.'' Arthur said and stood up in front of the Ogre. Ogre was screaming in pain.

Arthur started running towards it and used the 'Hunter's eye' skill. His senses became 2 times better than usual. 

''I can see it. The opening!'' he said to himself. 

The Ogre felt Arthur's bloodlust and it started swinging its arm randomly to defend itself. He was easily dodging every attack with minimum effort.

He got the Ogre's behind and used 'God's eye' while 'Hunter's eye' was still working. And another window appeared in front of him. 

[Congratilations! You gained new knowledge about Ogres. From now on you know that when they feel enough pain they become even more stupid and act like a defenseless animal. You learned one more weakness about Ogres. Here it is:

Their necks are more sensitive than their back. If you stab good enough you can kill an Ogre even with an arrow by using it like a dagger.]

And that was exactly Arthur's idea. He drew his last arrow, held it like he was holding a dagger, and was in complete focus. Hennen was in shock after seeing him like that. 

The Ogre was slowly getting used to the pain and its eye was regenerating. 

Arthur ran towards it once more. This time he was intending to kill it. Arthur jumped to its neck while it was still half distracted by its eye. He landed perfectly on its back, held the arrow with both of his hands, and... 

At the last second Ogre was able to grab him from its back and throw him far away before Arthur stabbed it. 

Arthur bounced a few times and hit a tree. His left arm was a mass and his head was bleeding but even after that he still had 6 seconds to use. 

Because of the adrenaline, he wasn't feeling any pain and was completely focused on the Ogre. 

He got up from the ground, picked up the arrow from the ground with his right hand, and started running towards the Ogre once again. 

After the Ogre threw him away, its attention turned to Hennen once more. The Ogre's eyes were healed up completely. The Ogre picked up the stick it dropped and lifted to the air once more. 

Hennen looked to the Ogre's eyes with hatred and she said to herself ''Look how weak I am. I can't even take revenge on my family.''. 

Arthur yelled once more to distract the Ogre. This time Ogre was more angry with Arthur so it turned to Arthur and was ready to fight. The Ogre yelled to Arthur like Arthur did.

[4 seconds to end of Hunter's eyes.]

Arthur heard this sentence and he got sped up more and held the arrow more tightly. Ogre was ready to swing its stick. It was waiting for Arthur to get in its range but Arthur was aware of it. With the help of 'Hunter's eyes,' he guessed its range and he stopped one step far from the border of Ogre's range. 

Ogre thought he won't stop running so because of its reflexes it swung the stick with all of its strength. 

After Arthur managed to fake it. He started running towards Ogre once again. Ogre was fully open because of the last swing it made. That swing was powerful enough to make it lose some balance and because of that, it couldn't use its other hand. 

After Arthur got close enough, he jumped right in Ogre's face and stabbed both of its eyes with his last arrow.

Ogre dropped its stick once more and immediately held both of its eyes. 

After Arthur stabbed its eyes he switched his place to Ogre's neck. Ogre was wobbling because of the pain and couldn't keep up with what was happening because Arthur was acting fast.

Arthur held the arrow tightly and this time he stabbed his last arrow to Ogre's neck's sensitive point. 

Ogre fell to the ground but still was moving a little. Arthur didn't stop by just stabbing, he started punching Ogre's neck again and again like he had gone mad. With every punch, Ogre was moving less.

And finally, the Ogre died. After Arthur killed Ogre, the window appeared again.

[Congrats on your first hunt! You killed a monster that was stronger than you, extra EP will be given.

Congrats! You leveled up 2 times. You have 20 stat points now, use them as you like. 

Because of the hunt's difficulty, you will be rewarded with 'Ogre's blood'. 'Ogre's blood' is a material that's used to make potions. 'Ogre's blood' is put in your storage. 

Because of leveling up, all of your abnormal status and injuries will be healed automatically.]

 Arthur's left arm and the injury on his shoulder were healed completely. 

[Hunter's eyes are ended.]

Ogre's body was becoming ashes and disappearing. 

Hennen was in shock after seeing Arthur covered with a little purple blood. 

Arthur ran next to Hennen immediately. 

''Hennen! Are you okay? Let me take you to a nearby town I'm sure we can get help from there.

Come-'' Arthur was talking but Hennen cut his words.

''No, Arthur... I'm living my last moments right now.'' she said while covered in her blood. 

''No no no... There must be something we can do, come on.'' he said.

''I will be dead meat after a few minutes Arthur... (she coughed blood) That's... That's why I want to talk with you one last time.'' she said and held Arthur's hand. Arthur couldn't say anything.

''I'm requesting one thing from you, Arthur... Please... Burry me next to my parents' graves. They are behind of my house... (she coughed blood a few times) That... Ogre... Was the monster that killed my parents... That's why I'm living here, hunting monsters...'' she said. Arthur got a lump in his throat. And she continued.

''I want to give you my everything... I...(she coughed blood much more this time) After all, I won't be using them from now on... There is a secret stair under the table... I was saving some money for bad times... And there was a sword that I didn't use after my father died. Please... Take them...'' The tears fell from her eyes slowly.

''H-how could I?..'' Arthur said.

''I don't want them to be meaningless... Arthur... And please burn my house after you take everything you need... I don't want to be a ghost after I die.'' she giggled even if she was in such pain.

''Please!..'' she said once more.

Arthur accepted it even if he hated the idea. 

''And one last thing... You are the worst liar I've... Ever seen.'' she giggled and coughed a little more blood. Her sight was getting blurry.

''W-what?..'' Arthur said.

''I know you aren't chased by a hobgoblin or something. But I trusted you... I thought you must have a good reason to hide it... From me...'' she said with a smile on her face.

''It's okay.'' she caressed his hand and comforted him. 

''Can I hug you before I die, Arthur?'' she asked while taking her last breaths.

She leaned towards Arthur and didn't care about the pain. She held her left arm with her right hand and put it on Arthur's shoulder. Then she wrapped her right arm around him and hugged him tightly. Arthur hugged her tightly too.

''Can I be honest, Arthur?'' she said.

''Y-yeah...'' Arthur said.

She started crying so badly. 

''I'm... I'm scared of death so much Arthur. I missed my parents but I'm scared to die so much!'' she cried even more. The more she cries the more her injuries hurt and her fear gets bigger.

Arthur didn't break the hug and caressed her back gently.

''Death may seem scary but it's okay Henna. I don't know what this will cause but I'll tell you the truth. I got reincarnated into this world after I died in mine. After I lost my mother, life became meaningless to me. I didn't think about anything, I didn't talk about anything. I was like a leaf that's skidding in the winds. So I'm proud of you, you are much stronger than me. You could keep living. And as a person who became alive after dying I can say it's a happy place, Hennen.'' he said with a gentle voice while trying to hold back his tears.

''Thank you, Arthur... Even if I'm still scared a little... I feel like I'm ready...'' she said and her voice got lower and lower. 

''Goodbye.''

A 'farewell' was her last words to Arthur. It stabbed like a sword to his heart after hearing her last word. He couldn't hold back his tears anymore. He cried while hugging tightly to

Hennen's dead body. He didn't break the hug until his tears stopped. He didn't want her to see his face while crying. He didn't want to make her sad in the afterlife.

After some time, Arthur picked her up with his arms and carried her dead body to her house's behind, her family's graveyard with princess style.

After arriving at the graveyard he put her to the ground gently and dug with his hands a grave between her mother and father. 

It was nighttime after he buried her between her parents. 

''Don't worry Hennen, I won't cry in front of you.'' he smiled bitterly. And poured Hennen's first water.

''Sorry for being a burden Hennen. I'm gonna use your house one last time before leaving.'' he said and turned his back and got into the house. 

He was exhausted so he immediately went to the bed and lied down to the bed. 

As soon as he lied down, he started crying again and continued to cry until he fell asleep.
