[There are plenty of Third Tiers around in the world. Even to be in the Pro Indon League, you must be in the Third Tier. There are so many Third Tiers, but so few Fourth Tiers.
That is because to reach the Fourth Tier, you have to find your own path in addition to reaching the limit of your Hani concentration. This makes it so that the Fourth Tier is made up of the true powerhouses.....Excerpt from: THE TIERS THAT CONTROLS THE WORLD]
[George's POV]
"Hello, hello! It's the time you've all been anticipating, the fight club."
Warden shouted with her cheery voice.
We gathered at the front of the room as usual. When we were all there, Warden started to speak again.
"What's with the glum look on your faces? You should be happy! You're going to fight people stronger than you! This should get your blood boiling! Get pumped up! Get excited!"
We stayed silent like we usually did, but in my mind I was very irritated with Warden. Her jokes usually make more sense than this! Now she's just trying to rile us up!
Warden chuckled.
"Why are you guys still silent? I want you guys to tell me how you feel! It just makes it more interesting for me! In fact, I'm gonna order three of you to express yourselves. You can lie if you want, but if I notice it, you die."
I gulped. I hope I'm not the one she calls.
"Um, Subject Ahmed, please tell me your thoughts about the fight club."
"Um, I believe that this is a game for the rich and powerful to amuse themselves."
I heard him stop for a while and continue after that.
"All in all, this is just madness."
"Nice answer, let me give you a reward."
"Aaaahhhh!"
Ahmed fell to the ground in pain.
"Ah, wasn't that a nice reward? I love giving children gifts all the time!"
Would you call that a reward? She shocked him! I started to sweat, hoping she wouldn't call me out.
"Who to call next? Since I already did A, maybe I should move to another letter. Let's see, A, B, C, D, E, F, G..."
"What about G? Is there anyone with a name that starts with G?
I sighed in relief. My name doesn't start with G-
Wait a minute. G? My name clearly starts with G! This is bad. I can only hope she skips over me.
I crossed my fingers.
"What about Subject George? Can you tell me how you feel about all this?"
I wanted to collapse on the ground. Why does it have to be me? Wasn't there anyone who had a G name other than me here?
Is it possible she has it out for me? Why would she? I haven't done anything to her or even met her before!
Scenes of her past craziness passed through my mind.
She doesn't need a reason to screw with someone's life! She does it just because she can! She's just that kind of crazy!
"Hello, hello? Subject George? I thought I asked you to express yourself? Why had there been no expressing?"
She wants me to tell her the truth? If I'm going to get shocked anyway, I'll tell her exactly what she is.
"I think that you and everyone who's running this place is mad. Whenever I hear you speak, I just know you're mad. You're so mad that Alex's madness looks like child's play when compared to yours!"
Warden was silent. Then came the sound of clapping.
"Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful! That honesty! You really deserve a big reward for this."
I braced myself. Here comes the shock!
"Here's your reward!"
"Aaaarrrghhh?"
Wait. Why is there no pain?
I looked around in shock, as did the others when nothing happened to me.
When I had relaxed completely, was when the pain came.
"Aaaarrrgghhhh!"
It feels like my body is being fried. I fell to the ground. What kind of pain is this? I kept screaming until it stopped.
"Keeping you in suspense only makes the reward all that better, don't you think? It's a personal strategy of mine to maximize happiness. Don't you think it's pretty effective?"
That bitch! She really is the craziest person here!
"Time to move on to the next one. Which letter will it be this time? What about S? Or maybe W? What do you think the next letter should be, Subject Carter?"
Carter looked surprised that she would ask him that.
"I don't know, what about K?"
"K, that's good. I'm surprised you would nominate yourself, but it seems you want a reward."
"Huh? My name starts with a C. Carter. C-A-R-T-E-R."
"Bzzzzzzzzzz. Wrong answer. K stands for Carter. Don't you know? It's a regional dialect."
"What dialect is that?"
"It's one from the Orlalio region in Gosojo Kingdom. And why am I not hearing you express yourself. It seems like you want that reward early."
"It seems like I do. I'd rather have it early than go through that charade of expressing myself."
"Okay, then. For Subject Carter being able to express himself so clearly, he gets a bigger reward than the rest!"
"I never agreed to-aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!"
Carter was writhing on the ground from the pain. It took a long time before his 'reward' ended. And I'm pretty sure his lasted a lot longer than ours.
"And that's it for now. I hope my rewards motivate you to do well in the fights."
I looked up from my place on the ground. How do you win with someone like her?
The door opened.
"Now, Professor A will lead you to a convention with your fellow pseudo-students where you can get to know each other ahead of Freedom Night. Make sure you form alliances and collaborate together in peace and unity. Let's promote the spirit of cooperation together!"
Professor A stood a little way from us and turned around to leave.
"Follow me. If you get left behind, you will face the consequences."
We got led on a walk that to me, looked like we were walking randomly in any direction.
Eventually we reached a very big door, bigger than any other I had seen in here. Professor A stopped outside the door.
"This is as far as I take you. And there's one thing you guys probably need to know."
The door started to open slowly.
"Your group has the lowest odds of surviving this fight club. The reason is that since you guys are so divided and have no clear leader, a lot of people have died."
"That is not the same for the other groups Each group mostly has a leader, and where you guys only have twenty remaining out of the original sixty, most groups still have up to forty people."
The door opened fully to reveal many pairs of hostile eyes staring at us.
"Good luck, Group 39."
