Chapter 14

Elisa is confused as both brothers are behaving unusual. She's confused at Niklaus' rather calm behavior. She follows him up to his room unable to get rid of the thoughts of  all Fred had just shown her.

She enters the bedrooms

" Niklaus, what is wrong with you ", he raises an eyebrow, looking at her in disbelief. She's also confused as to where she had gotten so much courage.

" Why aren't you saying anything, Why aren't you shouting or angry or trying to kill me. I beg of you hurt me, your silence is killing me " she watches him as he moves further across the room avoiding her.

" I said, Say Something ! ", she shouts at him. Before she could take another breath, she sees the once further Niklaus now in front of her in a split second. Gasp !

He grabs her arm staring down at her, anger evident in his eyes as she looks up at him in fright.

" Do you really want me to hurt you ? You shouldn't have come here cause I could think of many things I could do to you but you don't survive any " , she stares at him in fright. The close proximity between them not making things any better.

" Get out !  ", he tightens his hold on her and she looses breath.

" I . . . I . . I'm sorry ", she manages to mutter. She watches as his death stare softens. He lets go of her and pushes her slightly.

" Leave ! " , he says pointing toward the door then turning his back to her. She hugs him from behind. Shocking both her and Niklaus.

" I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have left you alone ", she says between sobs. She doesn't know what she's saying but she couldn't just brush off what Fred had just shown her.

Niklaus is still stunned but and his expression softens, he suddenly comes to his senses. ' I refuse to be weak ', he says to himself.

" I asked you to leave ", he says. He's tone is not to loud but his voice is hoarse giving away his thirst to shed blood. Elisa trembles and lets go of him, she runs of to her bedroom.

Vatler comes into his bedroom few seconds after Elisa's depart.

" Get it ready ", Niklaus instructs Vatler before he could say a word.

Fred walks into Elisa's room and sees her sitting at a corner of the room with her face buried between her thighs, as she clutches her legs tightly together. He hears faint sobs as he walks closer to her. He squats beside her and lets out a chuckle giving away his presence . She looks up finally noticing him as he stretches out his hands and wipes her tears. He's palm soft and warm on her cheek.

" You are in quite a teary mess and look less confident for someone who had the ' audacity ' to run away from the Alpha ", he says in a sarcastic tone. he laughs but Elisa gives him the death glare and bend her head again.

" Hey, look at me ", she raises her head up and looks at him.

" I don't see why you are crying, you are still alive though. That should be enough reason for you to smile ", she still doesn't say a word. She bends her head again and continues to rest them between her thighs.

" I don't know if this would cheer you up, but you are the first living person to escape Niklaus clutches and didn't get dragged to he's feet on their bellies and end up slaughtered afterwards ", she looks at him and he doesn't seem the least fazed by what he had just said, like it was a norm for people to get killed.

" Your family's messed up ", she says and they both chuckle.

" You'll get familiar with it. It just takes time . . . . Oh and . . . . for now can we not openly mention that I'm a member of this family. To avoid . . . . You know . . . . "

" I get it, I won't blow your cover "

" Sweet girl. I've gotta go. If you still want to cry, do so but after I Ieave. I don't need your tears weighing on my conscience ", he says and they chuckle .

He's about to leave but Vatler walks into the bedroom.

" Oh, here you are, young sir ", he says  looking at Fred.

" His Highness has invited My Lady and her guest to join him at the dinning room for supper at dawn ", he says and leaves.

Elisa instinctively looks at Fred who gives her a reassuring smile. He walks up to her and leans in.

" From now on and until I free my sister from his clutches . . . . Just call me Vincent ", she nods and he leaves. She heads for the bathroom to prepare for the dinner.
