CHAPTER 26 ( Kachi 's POV)

Taking a deep breath, kachi stepped into her new house though today would mark her three months, stay in this house she would never truly consider this home or America in general. Apart from the fact that its construction was different from what was built back home in nigeria, home was where the heart belongs and she didn't belong here, not one bit.

She woke up each morning with a deep ache and longing in her heart, she never knew or thought she would miss her country this much and gosh here was so cold, the people, weather everything here literally sucks. Back home in nigeria, everyone was nice and behaved like one and you can easily rush over to your neighbors, if you had a problem or just wanted to gossip but here.... She thought slumping down on her bed with a sad face, everything is so different she didn't even want to think about the cultural shock she experiences on a daily basis, everyone just minded their business around here.

Once a man was heard beating his wife across the street and the woman's tears re -sounded the whole environment but the shocking part was no one tried to help the woman, they all turned deaf ears and when she had complained to her aunt who was a nurse, she had said it was good to mind your business here and she would get used to it soon.

Kachi would never get used to it nor the fact that when she greets strangers on her way to school, they looked at her oddly like what the fuck!!.

Gosh she had even started swearing, she thought feeling guilty something that she never did back at home, her parents were displinarians and she often got a good beating when she did something wrong, her mom would be so appalled to hear that, here parents weren't allowed to beat their kids. She removed her clothes slowly while starring at herself in the mirror, and to cap it off she got racists and dickheads as classmates oh except for Ella, she was a real sweetheart but ayra her best friend and the most intelligent girl in class didn't like her.

Kachi was so sure that ayra dispised her, I mean from the way she greets her like she was forced by someone, and today while talking to Ella she had caught ayra starring at her with something akin to hatred in her eyes. Maybe she was jealous of her relationship with Ella but she didn't have to worry a tad bit, because Ella loves her so much and always speaks highly of her all the time. Truthful she kinda of admired ayra alot, I mean she had had a stellar grades right from kindergarten, that was no small feat and she seemed like a pure soul too bad ayra hated her and oh she also knew ayra had a really popular stuck up sister.

Kachi ran herself a bath and got her towel, just because she was new didn't mean she was slow witted, she had a loadfull of information about different people in her school. One lesson her dad had taught her was to know your enemies strength and weakness, observe and keep calm and currently everyone in that school was her enemy except of course Ella.

Gosh!! She muttered and hit her head with her palms on remembering that an "escosion " was around the corner in her class, events like that she was sure they would be asked to pay some kind of fee or something for that, she had real problem to think about and she was dwelling on ayra she scolded herself.

Resting her neck on the marble tub, she thought of where to get the money, she didn't want to call her parents and make them worry too much plus her parents still had her siblings to cater for, she wasn't even earning enough from her job . Tsk tsk dear Lord help me, she said but come what may she would find a way, poor finance won't break her she was strong and wouldn't give up easily she thought with a determined look.

Omgggggggg guys, I apologize for not updating for the last two days I had a little problem with my draft, I almost lost some of my chapters but thankfully everything is under control.
