* NICHOLAS *

I woke up when the hospital room's door closed and sat up straight slowly.

Looks like I slept here.

I turned around and saw Jake with a furious expression on his face and I knew exactly what it meant as I shot out of my seat.

"Sofia." He said, trembling with rage.

That was all he had to say for my vision to go red and all I could see was blood as my teeth clenched dangerously and my fists clenched shut.

"Call the whole family for dinner tonight at the estate. Including Dove's. I want every fucking person present." I said and he gave me a curt nod.

"What are we doing exactly?" He asked me and I smirked.

"It's time to show them who the Don really is." I said and Jake smirked too.

"Showtime, Don." He grinned and walked out to make calls. I looked behind me at the angel asleep peacefully, I went over to her and pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead.

Her skin was warmer now. I know she was fighting to survive and she would pull through.

"I'll avenge you amore mio. I'll fucking kill them all." I said and with one last look, I left for the estate.

When I arrived at the estate, dinner preparations were in full swing.

"Ace!" I heard Stuart call and turned to look at him.

"Jake told me about... you know. Is that the plan?" He asked and I put my hands in my pockets and smirked.

"I'll show her how the Italian Don deals with things. Not Nicholas Ace King." I said and saw Stuart's grin.

"Make her think we know she's the rat. And we'll confirm it too. Jake told you everything, yes? The whole plan?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yeah he told Matteo and Lucas too. No one else is included, right?" He asked.

"No." I said.

"Dress up will ya?" He said and I nodded, walking up to my room, I saw how everything had been organized again.

The last time I was hear I had broken everything. And that was two weeks ago. The day she was shot. Now it looked like no one was ever here.

Like nothing ever happened.

I stayed in the hospital the last two weeks and the only time I slept was when I was sitting with her. I took a long shower, relaxing my throbbing head and calming down the adrenaline in my blood.

The urge to kill someone was really strong right now and I'm considering Liam very much right now.

I walked into the closet and took out my black suit. The color of revenge, with a blood red dress shirt and pocket square. I slicked back my jet black hair, putting on my perfume and straightened my coat.

I pulled out a cigarette and lit it, breathing in deep before letting the smoke out.

"Mr. King. Everyone has arrived." Richard told me. I stood and thought a moment before nodding to him so he took his leave. I looked in the mirror and smirked at the devil staring back.

Here goes everything.

I took in a deep breath and walked down the stairs slowly, hands in my pocket. Security around the estate was tight and I saw guards around every corner.

Trust Jake and Marcello to be prepared.

Everyone bowed their heads as I descended the stairs as I put on my cold mask. The one I used as Don.

My eyes grew colder, my demeanor changed and I could feel the power on me as people cowered away in fear. And to be honest, I enjoyed it.

I saw Jake, Stuart and Matteo outside the dining room. Jake gave me a nod and handed me my gun and I slipped it into my belt.

"You look like you're ready to kill." Matteo said and I held my head high.

"That's because I am." I said and gestured for the doors, shoving my hands in my pockets.

The giant dining room doors opened and I entered first, catching everyone's attention as they all went silent. I could see the fear in their eyes as they looked away.

No one looked into my eyes and I remembered the first time I met Dove. I always acted like the Don I was when I met her coincidentally all those times, but she always looked into my eyes fearlessly.

God I miss her.

My steps faltered but I held my stance and walked to the head seat at the table. The boys followed behind as I walked to the front.

Everyone was standing with their heads down in respect. No one dared to look up. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Sofia who stood silently and I stopped at her chair. I saw her gulp and smirked.

She knows this is no joke.

I felt like snapping her like a twig right there but I felt a hand on my shoulder and forced myself to move forward.

I gave my uncles and Dove's family a subtle nod to regard their appearance and they understood.

I sat on my seat but everyone remained standing, waiting for my order. I crossed my legs and lifted my scotch glass in front. I picked it up and took a sip, swirling it and examining everyone's faces.

The room was so silent you could hear a pin drop. No one even dared to breathe. My gaze went to everyone, lingering a few seconds but remained longer on Sofia.

She glanced at me briefly and looked away quickly when she knew I was looking at her. I moved from her finally, my gaze hardening a bit on Liam before on.

And then it stopped. Right next to my seat. That seat was hers. It was reserved for my love, my partner. And it was empty.

My chest constricted and I slammed the glass on a wall, making it shatter. Everyone flinched except the men from my family and Dove's father. I got t say, he had some guts.

Just like his daughter.

I shook the thoughts away from my head and gestured for Richard to bring the food in. He nodded silently and gestured to the maids.

"Sit." I said and everyone complied, sitting down while the food was placed in front of us. I looked at the pasta and I was instantly reminded of her.

She loved this kind of pasta.

I put some in my plate and smiled to myself. When I looked up I saw no ne had started yet.

"Eat." I ordered and everyone took their plates, starting to eat. I gestured for another glass of wine and downed it in one go, eating a forkful of pasta.

I would've enjoyed it any other day but today, a lot was going on in my mind. I glanced at and Jake who gave me a subtle nod and then to Stuart, Lucas and Matteo, indicating our plan had begun.

"I heard the doctors came in today with new test results." Stuart said and my ears perked up. I looked up at Jake questioningly who nodded.

I didn't know this.

"Yes, he came when David and I were on our round." Jake said and I glanced at Dove's father who ate silently.

"What did they say?" I asked and everyone's eyes came to me as I relaxed in my chair and swirled my wine glass, trying to seem casual but I was dying to know.

Was there any progress?

"He said they have to run some tests, but her body is healing slowly. The damage is quite severe so its taking time, but there is more chance at survival now." Jake said and my heart swelled with happiness.

I tried to remain calm but anyone who truly knew me would know my glistening eyes full of joy that everything might just be fine. Now I know what Jake was aiming at.

Riling up the enemy.

I saw Sofia squirm in her seat and frown at the news. I got a message on my phone and looked at the message. It was from Jake.

"David knows about the plan." He texted.

I looked at David and saw him already looking at me with a hopeful expression. He was counting on me to catch the people who had wrong her daughter.

And I wouldn't disappoint him.

And I was right with him. I gave him a reassuring nod and he smiled in return.

When dinner was finished everything was cleared but everyone remained seated.

Time to unleash my wrath.

I got up, fixing my coat and walked around everyone slowly.

"As you all know, someone very important to me is in the hospital She saved my life and now is fighting for her own." I stopped briefly and looked at Lucas.

"And all of you know how much loyalty means to me. Yes?" I said and everyone nodded.

"Then you know what happens when someone breaks their oath to me. When someone breaks my trust in them. The sight isn't very pretty, I'll tell you that." I said and saw them lower their heads except Jake, Stuart, Matteo and Lucas and y uncles.

They weren't guilty and the knew it. I knew it too. I stopped behind Sofia's seat and felt the anger rise but controlled my self.

"The only thing I despise the most is betrayal. And it seems, we have a traitor." I chuckled and went back to my seat, waiting for their reaction.

Three...

Two...

One...

"But who could do such a thing?" I heard her voice as she looked at me and I smirked.

Bullseye.
